The Hunt 2025 | S6 E6: “Legacy” | Jacksonville Jaguars
You know, I done seen and did everything and experienced losing, experienced winning, experiencing breaking a record. And as long as my teammates and coaches understand that that all I want to do is win and be a part of winning and be a part of this culture, uh, winning a Super Bowl and being a part of that, like that’s all I want. And if people can recognize and remember me for that, then I’ll be okay when I’m all said and done. It’s rolling. Y’all say what’s up with Say hi. Juju, say hi. What’s your name? Say it. Tell me your name on the camera. What’s your name? Y not What’s your name? What’s your name? Who’s that on the wall? Wes, can you sing the song? This is going to be the most intense ride yet. The only way to get out. Did you control it? Go all the way down. Go all the way down. Now go all the way up. Oh, up. Go up. Go up. Go down. Go down. Down. Juju down. Juju up. Juju. Up. Up. Up. Tell me what kid Josh was like. What were you like as a child? Oh, we doing this. Yeah. Oh, Lord. What was I like? Josh as a child, he has always been really sweet, really kind, really thoughtful. He would do chores. I wouldn’t even have to tell him like he had responsibilities and um he would just make sure they were done. He would ask me if I needed him to do anything and he was just really easy and um a joy to have around. I was a kid that was always outside, you know, just running through the neighborhood late at night, doing whatever, playing basketball late, playing street football. I was always joking, laughing, you know, trying to have a good time. And I think I’m kind of the same. I kind of matured enough a little bit to where that I kind of control when and where I want to spread all my energy. But when I was younger, man, it was like anytime, any place. I would come up to New Jersey quite often and a couple of times he and his brother would come back and they spent the summers in Alabama a few times and um Josh was graduating from 8th grade and we were up there and he he started talking about it. He’s like, “I want to come and live in Alabama.” And I said, “You do you really?” And he said, “Yeah.” Apparently, he had it in his mind. He had had it already mapped out. It was easy decision for for me to make. Of course, you know, my husband felt the same way. So, um his mother um agreed. So, we were able to make it happen. My family mostly played basketball. Everyone in the family played basketball. my father played, my brothers, um my sister even played. That’s what I thought Josh would want to do. He had mentioned something about playing football at one point and we were on our way into um the school that I was working at and um I saw the football coach and so I was like, “That’s the football coach right there.” And I said, “Hey, coach, come over here. Coach Shipman.” I said, “Here um this is my nephew Joshua.” I said, “And he wants to play football.” My aunt kind of introduced me to the head coach at the time and then he was like he asked me why don’t you come try out then I said blah. I was like all right I guess. And then once I end up did playing football I didn’t like it because you know in the south they different rules down there. It wasn’t an immediate success. Um I believe he played JV for a little while. Yeah. I didn’t like it at first but I kind of grew into it. I accepted my role and then then I became that guy. He played both sides of the ball. Junior year he did make all state as wide receiver. He was just really good. And I there were a couple of people and a couple of coaches who used to always stop and say, “Oh, Josh is good. Josh is And I was like, “Oh, really?” You know, I really didn’t know because I didn’t really know football that much. I was more of a basketball fan, but after Josh, it made me into a football fan. I went home for a senior year, you know, legacy created like that’s where all my family graduated from. At first I just wanted to be and I then I wanted to be around my family again cuz I was living with my aunt and uncle and so I kind of wanted to be around my mom, brother, you know, childhood friends and stuff like that. When he left it was really really difficult but I was just happy for him and um I heard about the success that he was having. So of course I you know when I went up to visit I was able to see him and see that he was um being successful. My high school was a predominantly good program in the state of New Jersey. We were always going to a lot of jamboree games and scrimmaging the big private schools. So I was getting noticed was like, “Oh, this going to come to me. Like I’m going to get, you know, offers and, you know, all these things.” when he was in Alabama, there were quite a few people, major teams looking for him and I think they kind of lost contact of him. My high school team won state, you know, I led the state in sacks. You think I’d be moved up a little bit, right? That’s what I would have didn’t. And so, you know, the offers didn’t come and records didn’t offer me. So, I kind of felt disrespected. But I think uh you know being patient kind of was a blessing in disguise. I was really excited when I heard about Kentucky and I knew wherever he went, his drive, um his determination, his commitment, and all of those qualities that you need in order to succeed, he had them. And so I knew he was going to work and he was going to make the best of whatever situation, you know, he was he was given. It’s crazy. First year playing defense, so I didn’t know anything. I didn’t know the terminology. It was C ball get in high school. I was a better athlete than a lot of people that I played against. So that allowed me to have 22 and a half sex my senior year. I came to college and now I’m my outside linebacker. I’m not even a defensive end. Like, so now I got to like coverage and I got to drop and now I got to know how to pass rush and do this and I’m like, whoa. I played a lot of special teams my freshman year, so I kind of worked my way up, kind of set a goal for me. You know, I was I was cool with the older guys, so told him one day I’m like one of these games I’m going to be out there on the field with you. And then sure enough it was third and 20 or something like that. I go right out there. I said I told you other words after that. But uh that was a cool like dang like I set a goal and I did it. And then each year I kind of just set different goals for myself and achieved them actually. I really didn’t know how good he was. Even really when he was in Kentucky, it just really didn’t dawn on me. I think I started to realize that he’s really, really good. like his senior year. That’s when I really realized, oh, he, you know, I think he’s gonna be okay. for myself knowing who I was growing up. The extra work that I had to put in, I think I saw that mature a lot. The person I did become, you know, from when I first got to campus to when I left are totally two different people. Under pressure. Down he goes. And there’s the record set. Josh Allen not only breaks the record but the hearts of the Raiders. Just a matter of time before he would get loose and he picked the right moment. That was the true blessing that I can kind of look back and receive back from now. Your personality helped with that too. I know you let Caitlyn have Wesley. that kind of settled you in a different way as well. 100%. I think I think having a girlfriend in college, you know, I think having the right girl in college uh kind of keeps you inside the house and it keeps you out of trouble. So, I was working at Papa John’s. Okay. And the tutoring facility was next door. So, he would come over and get pizza. Um, one day he just he asked me out. So, I went over to his apartment. no electric cuz college students couldn’t afford our bills. Um, I said, “No big deal.” We went and bought battery powered fans and we just talked all night and that’s all she wrote. I know for Kate, man, like we had dogs, you know, this is before Wesley, like we had dogs and like we were busy and you know, I just wanted to be she worked a lot and I just wanted to play the game so I was like always inside the house and you know what I’m saying? We spent a lot of time together, but then like we had Wesley and then that’s when like reality being in the moment really like kicked in. It was amazing. I will say college was just a little tough just because school all day, practice school again. So we made things work. Um a lot of the time we would be in the tutoring facility with Wesley while he was writing papers. It kind of made me like realize like, bro, this opportunity that you have right here, you better I’m not going to end up like, you know, generational curses before me. You know what I’m saying? I wanted to create something new uh that Kayla and I both never had. And we kind of both wanted to create that for ourselves. We made a close family bond as soon as the college life was over. you know, when he was training to go into the NFL, that’s when we really started to bond together and we had more time, more freedom, and that’s when we really started to grow and blossom. University. I grew so much physically, mentally, and I also did it for him, you know, and so like Wesley has been a huge always been a huge motivating factor in my life. And uh even to this day, he’s still finding a way to kind of push me to evolve as a better father, a better husband, and just a better person overall. With the seventh pick in the 2019 NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Josh Allen, defensive end, Kentucky. It is really cool to look back on. But sometimes I look and I’m like, “Wow, you didn’t take one picture by yourself. and his son Wesley is in his arm as he’s being drafted. That is just Josh, you know, he is just such the familyoriented type person. He’s always really been that way. He was like that in college after he had Wesley. Family is really important to him and he shows that each and every day. Let me get that off. I appreciate it. Oh, feels like home. I think it’s the epitome of what family means to us and we wanted to have Wesley there along the ride the whole time. Wesley, how you doing, bud? one like you and Wesley are the most important things to me and I want you there every step of the way, every moment. We are in this together. I couldn’t have done this without you. I wouldn’t be here without you. Everything we sacrificed together and it’s really special to look back and see that Wesley was in every photo, every video. Basically had your son in your arms every moment. I mean, how much does he motivate you on the football field, just in life? Uh, yeah, man. Like, ever since he was born, he forced me to be a better person and I and I believe that forced me to be a better football player. He’s the reason why I play so hard and he’s the reason why I go to work every day. I know you’re talking about, you know, I don’t know what’s wrong with him. You okay? You didn’t like that question. Wesley and I stayed back while he was here training and we packed, looked for a house. In 3 days, we were here. It took some years to get used to being here and acclimated to Florida compared to the four seasons of Kentucky, but we love it here. You want this one? This one’s for you. Oh, I’m supposed to wear it now? If you want Woohoo! It’s your boy Josh Allen here about to get ready. Warmer Armor about to throw the first pitch at the jumble strip game. It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be exciting. Can’t wait to see how it’s going to be. Say it means play ball. They’ll probably be like, they probably won’t say nothing. I know. Once I get a microphone, a camera, they’re like nothing. How are you? Great. How are you? And now, please welcome coming in at 65 262 lb Jaguars first round pick Josh Allen. How’ you do? you know, I want to go a little faster, but you know, I got to save my arm for, you know, Kansas City. You know what I mean? Having that moment where you’re like, I finally made this happen. Did it hit you then or did it kind of take you until you got here, you started playing? When did I know? I think running out the tunnel for the first time against Kansas City week one. Let’s meet today’s starters on the defense. That defensive end number 41 Josh Allen running out the tunnel against Kansas City was such a surreal moment. Dang, this is I’m here. You know what I’m saying? And I’m that guy. I’m going to whoop somebody today. There you go. Not supposed to be every time. Don’t play off. You could tell he had all the potential in the world. He just had a hunger, had a belief in himself, a confidence that you need to have to be good and he loved football. Thank you for showing up for super long. I was on his tail, you know, trying to make sure that he understood his potential. You know, you can’t be that good and not produce, you know, like you just you have too many gifts God gave you. Share those with the world. The ball comes out. The ball comes out downfield. He’s going to get hit. That ball came out again. I came in the league. Kambo told me, man, he kind of really set me up for this. Here they come and tell he goes. You was a dog in college. You just can be a dog and leave goes down. You shouldn’t have nobody affect nothing like shouldn’t nothing change that. Count it. There he goes. How you going to respond? That’s the that’s the real testament of a warrior. World testament of a warrior is how he responds. You’ll get hit in the mouth sometimes. We got hit in the mouth and we got beat up. But how we respond that’s it’s crucial. Our communication was like on a high level cuz I trusted him. He trusted me. And when we said we were going to do something, we did it. And then of course as the, you know, the old wise vet, it’s like, all right, we’ll see like show me, you know, cuz anybody can say anything, but in this business, it’s a resort oriented business. Going to try and run it out of there to the ball cuz the ball came out and then he fell on it himself. Wanted to launch a long one. Couldn’t get it off and he’s brought down in trouble and he goes down. Josh Allen. I thought it was going to be cocky. I thought he was going to walk in, you know, chin up, all that stuff. But he just he was down to earth. Make sure you shoot that inside hand. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. It was crazy. Like I I’ve never I never seen it, you know. Josh just like took it up a whole another level. You know, broke the record by a couple sacks. Josh Allen gets the new rookie sack record. That is his ninth sack of the season. I was more excit I wasn’t more excited about breaking the record. I was more excited about getting more sacks than Clay Campbell and Yan. That’s what I was like pushing for. Like I got to get more. You know, he just did too. That rookie record gone. I ain’t tripping up. Number two all time history here. I don’t give a Every rookie, you have to have that confidence that you’re the guy. Like, I’m here to introduce myself. I’m the guy now. You know, you had your run. Good job. You know, I want to make sure that I see that same guy. You know, that same guy that I saw as a rookie that lit up the stat sheet and made big time plays for us. I want to see that same guy all the time. Going to get hit. He’s going to get sacked. Doc Allen. Down he goes. That’ll be the first of the year for Josh Allen. And trying to get away and cannot. And Josh Allen once again, he’s very much lead by example. He’s going to show you how to do it and he’s going to do it on Sundays. You know what I’m saying? And the young guys can can get behind him and see exactly how it needs to be done. Intercepted. It’s Josh Allen intercepting. Josh Allen. He was just always not only looking to be better for himself, but he was looking to be for me to be better. Scrambling away. He gets hit. He’s going to get sacked again. Josh Allen got there first. Trayvon Walker finished him off. coming in for me as a rookie. I already looked at him as a leader and the team already seen him as a leader as well. They’re going to sack him again. Josh Allen’s got him again back at the 42 yd line. When he broke the record, the single season record that year, he was having such a big year and I was like, it’s just a matter of time like he about to he’s get that with ease. And this crowd is really giving it to Josh Allen. They put it up on the big screen. And the best part is whose sack dance did he do? K. Cleans Campbell sack dance. Good stuff. I actually saw the play and saw him do that little the baseball swing and you know uh give me my my love and stuff and that was cool. Once that happened like you heard nothing else about it like it was just so he was just so nonchalant about us and uh that says a lot about his his personality his character uh he always want better like he know it’s always something better that he could be doing or higher goals that he can achieve. He’s still doing that to this day. Shotgun. Biggest play of the game right here. Shotgun for Dobby. He drives the flip, but all outlets. They hit him as he lets it go. The ball comes out. The ball comes out and picked up. The Jags are running it back. The Jags are running it back. The Jags are going to run it into the end zone. Josh Allen scores a touchdown. Josh Allen is running back for a touchdown for Jacksonville. How good is that? Kind of just tells you what kind of person he is. You know what I’m saying? He’s not willing to give up on anything. I think he’s going to, you know, strive to for whatever play or whatever he wants in his life. You know, that kind of just a testament to who he is. It feels feels pretty good, you know. I don’t think it really settled me yet. For real. For real. But, you know, at at the moment, man, I’m I’m truly blessed, truly humbled by this experience thus far, man. you know, it’s it’s a surreal moment. It’s what I it’s what I’ve been looking for for my whole life, you know, to set it up for myself, my family, you know, I can’t now it’s here. It’s kind of crazy, but expected in a good way. Humble again, and I can’t really put it all into words. Too many words. Wow. Young Ja Still got the suit, too. Look at Kate, my baby. Wow. I love your dress, Vanessa. You look very beautiful. We were really grateful for that day and we were happy to be by his side, you know, through this achievement and just be here for that much longer cuz we really do love being here. Are these are these real cheeses, y’all? Are y’all playing? All right. Oh, be careful. Our roots are here at this point. Congratulations. Thank you, bro. I tested stuff on my male linebackers. Yes, sir. Don’t cry on us. Bro, I’m not going to cry, bro. I’ve been I’ve been I’m out in Texas. I had seen the notification or whatever. He called me and then I called him. I I wasn’t It was off day for me. So, I’m get I’m like, “Man, I’m about to chill. Go get me a massage or whatever.” I just called. I’m like, “Bro, seeing this, seeing you get paid really just made me want to get up and go work out. I’m off this date.” So, what I did was I got up and went and worked out. Never mind, man. He picked up. Hold on. Hold on. You good, man? You good? Yo yo yo. You on camera? You on camera? You good? Hey, Jul. Julian, you got a workout in. Shout out. All the hard work and dedication that it is right there. It’s a testimony to his work, everything that he’s done, the sacrifices he’s made. Get ready, bro. You better get ready. All right, Josh. He’s he works so hard, man. It’s It’s hard to not be excited for a player like of his caliber, um his personality to be rewarded. I believe in actions speak louder than words. And so for him just always showing up and always being adamant that we’re around and his family is present and taken care of, it speaks volume. All right, so we’ll just kind of have a conversation. Um, why don’t you just start off by telling me what we’re here to talk about? What’s what’s going on? So, we’re here to talk about me deciding to change my last name. Something that I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time. And, you know, my wife and I have been thinking about this for years now. And, uh, we just think right now is the is the best opportunity, the best time, the best everything in our life to do it. Man, I was contemplating that change for a minute. I was always known as Little Hines growing up. Like my family Hines is, you know, known as known in the sport world of Montlair. Little Hind. That name always stuck with me. And then I was talking to Kate about it. She’s like, “Do it. Let’s do it right now.” He had told me years ago that he always wanted to be a Hines Allen because his four sisters were Hines Allen and then him and his brother were just an Allen. So one day we were leaving the Pro Bowl and I called him and I was like I think you should think about being Hines Allen and he was like why? And I was like because it’s your legacy. Your your uncle was in the NBA you know he left a legacy with the team he played for and Montlair also. and then we got a sister in the WNBA. So, it’s just amazing. And now it’s Josh’s turn to continue on the legacy of the Hines Allen, you know, connect, come in full circle. This is a sevenminute drive here. This is the 13th play of the drive. He drops the throw. Pump fake. Now he’s going to try to scramble. Now he’s going to get hit. They’re going to sack him. Josh Hines Allen got there. Devon Hamilton finished him off. A terrific sack by the Jaguars. Back to the 17 yd line. 17 yd gain. First down. They go quickly here. Play fake by Flaco. He gets hit. They finally sack. And they got Joe Flaco that time. Back at the 37 yd line. That’s a sack by Josh Hines Allen. And boy did you need that. I don’t play football to chase the numbers. I think a lot of people do it, but me right now where I am in my space that I am, if I was to chase numbers, I would miss so many opportunities, so many moments. Dropping the throw as Flaco, he gets hit. He gets hit. The ball comes out. The ball is out. The Jags are trying to pick it up. Josh Hines Allen picks it up. He runs it back to the 10 yd line. The Jags have it at the 10 yd line of the Indianapolis Colts with 5 seconds left in the half. I want to whoop this dude in front of me. I want to be able to turn the tape on and watch and have fun watching the tape. Have fun watching every snap because I know that when this ball snap, I’m going to whoop him. Looking He’s going to get hit. He’s going to get sacked. The Jags got him again. Josh Hines Allen got him that time. I enjoy that part of it. And I think if I keep enjoying that part, Hines Allen buries Le then sex are going to come. Everyone wants to lead the franchise in sacks. But it’ll be definitely major for him to do that here. This is where he was drafted and to lay the foundation for a lot of other guys that comes behind. Josh Hindall got it for the second time today. I could tell that he was he really really wanted it and like when you really want something, you know, it always takes so long to get my own experience to get my 100 sack. Literally like 99 to 100. Like I had like 20 quarterback hits or interactions with quarterbacks where I just could not get the sack. You know, you could be rushing good, rushing perfect. You’re so close so many times and then eventually gets it. And now it’s like he’s going to put that number at a much higher number. I mean, he’s going to have a big gap between him and and Tony Bracket. Come here. Three. Three. Well, I had I had the nudge, the chip. and count. I was like, “Oh, y’all making me feel special.” Boy making me feel special. Alert screen. I’ve seen him grow a lot more off the field than on the field. I mean, he’s already been who he is, but off the field, he’s become a better, you know, a better man, a better father as well, too. Even what he went through with Wesley last year, he he dropped everything. You know, it it takes a special person to drop everything, you know, not go to a game, not really focus on anything, but just like lock back in with his family. You know, it really uh shows how great of a husband and a father he is. It started on Christmas Eve. Every day it just progressed. Truly, every day there was a new symptom. Josh had to go to work, so it was really terrifying. Honestly, he slept the whole day. Um, so trying to compartmentalize that I have one child that can’t even get up and open Christmas gifts and then the other two. um provide joy and that Christmas magic to them was challenging, but that’s what moms do, you know. Went to the pediatrician. At this point, it the next day was his birthday. So, she had said if he can’t get out of bed, we need to go to the to the ER. We blew out his candles, took a nap, and 3 hours later woke up with high fever again, oxygen low, and we went straight to the emergency room on his birthday. Um, they admitted him, and 2 days later he was diagnosed with leukemia. He’s so resilient watching kids go through that and just bounce back quickly. All he cared about was playing, playing with his dinos, just being at home. That’s all he cared about being around his family. Um, I’m sorry. It was definitely tough at first. Um, first couple months were super super hard. He asked me right before he got sick like, “Daddy, I want to spend more time with you.” You know what I’m saying? I was like, “But the season’s almost over. We can I’m going to make it happen.” And then he got sick and then this happened. And when I thought about that, I was like, “This is where I need to be.” And what perfect timing than now. in the beginning with the symptoms, knowing how strong I had to be and learning that Wesley could have died at home and not having him there to have him sacrifice, you know, the last game and then be able to be there um for the remainder of his treatment. Truly, I can’t put a word on it. And I don’t know if I would have been as strong as I was um had he had not been there. Our faith grew stronger and I do think that we grew stronger as a family and it’s the epitome that we talk about when challenges happen in life. We got to be there for each other. Now that I’m in this present moment and I got to reflect on that that whole journey, it was like again I told you Wesley did it again. you know, he always finds a way to do it again, you know, to kind of get me back on track to where I need to be. That had to mature me on another level as far as like being where my feet is again, you know, and not missing moments and being there for all the moments that I can and making promises that I could never break. You got to do it three times, remember? Wesley did it again. That’s my new slogan. Childhood cancer patients and families supported by the Tom Coughlin Jachlin. It’s a special moment that he’ll always remember. Football is family and we’ve been here for so long that I think he found the joy. I think it was more meaningful for us in that moment. Say, brother. Hey, your son’s story is awesome, bro. Thank you. Hey, brother. Thank you, brother. Hey, congrats, man. He was really excited about his coin. He wanted to play with it. We were like, “No, no, no. This special coin. We got to put it up. Come on. Come on. Come on.” In time, he will look back and have those memories and have the same feelings that we had during the time. Hello. Hello. Go daddy. Daddy. 5 weeks, we welcome you to Everbank Stadium. Boy, it’s good to be back home. It’s been a while. It’s been 35 days and you come back to face another really good AFC opponent. Yeah, look, the big dogs got a hunt today. And we talked about that third down defense and the Chargers are without Rashawn Slater and Joe Alter starting tackles. Josh and Trayvon have got to expose that weakness today. Corral Justin Herbert because he’s got tremendous arm talent and mobility. Everywhere that I go, I want to be the best player to ever come out of the organization. That’s from high school to college to the NFL. Dropping is Herbert again. That ball’s batted at the line of scrimmage. Josh Hines Allen got his hand up. People say 56 sags is not a lot. You know what I’m saying? Compared to other organizations. In my head, if I was in that organization, I would have tried to strive to do the same thing. to understand that and to realize that just mean it just means a little bit more to me knowing that I did it for the Jacksonville Jaguars somewhere that I didn’t choose to be here but God has blessed me to be on this team to go through a lot of adversity situations and adversity seasons just follow me I’m going tell you what and to figure out and define the outcome of like why you still play the game basically cuz I get I got it to get them inside with power and I got him with edge so now it’s it’s anyone’s You know what I’m saying? But look what’s up. It’s not just me though. I know. I know. Carry over to you. So if I go in there and I just go speed of power when it’s time to go rush, what the are you going to do? To be where we are as a team just means like I stayed on my grind. I stayed focused to what I’ve always wanted to do and that was create a legacy and be the best defensive player to ever come out of here. Eighth play of the drive here. Third down and 10. Jags have six defensive backs in the game. And they got that extra safety and Ray on Lane in the game. Shotgun dropping is Justin Herbert. Fourman rush. He’s going to get sacked. Jos Allen got a third sack of the day for Jacksonville back at the 28 yd line. Josh has set the franchise career record for sacks. Congratulations to Josh Hines Allen. Can you play now? Off your back. Yes, sir. Congrats, brother. Congrats, man. Congratulations. Congrats, man. How you do that? What number is that? How do you do that, bro? Yeah. Chocolate guy overflower guy, huh? You’re a chocolate guy over a flower guy. He said, “I’m going to give him your flowers.” Said he doesn’t seem like a flower guy. I like flowers. You do? A appreciate it. Huh? Couple roses. Josh, what does it mean to you to get the record, but get it in in a win in such a a a team win all the way around, such a blowout fashion? I mean, it felt great. Um, I think our energy was up all game uh from the beginning from the first play of defense. Trey getting the intentional grounding. I wish they can call those a sacks, but you know to affect the game and then first, second down, third down, just getting off the field. Um, you know, our our energy was high and special teams here had a heck of a game on kickoff made a lot of big plays for us in an offense, man. It was just unbelievable to be a part of and for me just to break the record. Um, you know, it was just cool from the many achievements that had happened today. So, cool to be, you know, be a part of that and just keep staging. I just want to know uh how much you know about the city of Jacksonville and what your expectations are in terms of coming in here and becoming not only a part of the team but a part of the city. I mean uh the last time I played here we kind of lost uh which kind of sucks but we but we trying to do a lot of winning now. So uh I don’t know a lot but I know just I know enough to know that uh it’s going to be my home for the next couple years and for the rest of hope hopefully the rest of my career. Okay. That explains your answer, right? The best Jaguar of all time. I mean, I know that’s uh, you know, easier said than done, but he’s already did so much. The Jacksonville Jaguars, when you look at the best players to play there, you know, when it’s all said and done, when this career is over, he should be number one on the list. There he is. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Cleans up. Nice. That’s nice, man. I appreciate that. He’s going to make big time plays and going to change the ball game, change the culture of that locker room and uh, you know, and lead that team to a lot of big games, a lot of big opportunities. Then it Okay, I get it. Throw. You see it? You get it? Come on. Just a strong, god-fearing, loving, caring, compassionate person. to see him now. Come on now. Come on. We got to celebrate. Let’s celebrate. Let’s celebrate. I’m not surprised by his success. I’m not surprised by his character. I’m not surprised by any of that. It just continued and he just has evolved. I think in terms of legacy, he’s family man. 11. Hey Josh, can you He has big goals, but every year he just wants to win and he wants to do it as a team and um he’s a natural he’s a natural leader. We got to hold two quarters to get him. So let’s go, man. That’s our standard. bystander people naturally they follow and they gravitate towards you know he’s a great person great personality great athlete like the sky’s is the limit for him he’s going to be great with whatever he does in life and u I’m rooting for him regardless I’m always going to be in his corner his family’s corner regardless hands down like that’s my big brother I love him love him to death no doubt Baby, come on. Hey, action. Telling you, bro. He’s a obviously a Jaguar lifer, but I view it as when when he’s all when it’s all said and done, I can see a bust of him with a big old gap in the middle, says Josh Hines Allen. You know, uh, one of the best defense that ever graced Jacksonville for sure. boy. You know, I done seen and did everything and and heard everything and experienced losing, experienced winning, experiencing breaking the record. There you go. Right there. And as long as my teammates and coaches understand that that all I want to do is win and be a part of winning and be a part of this culture, uh, winning a Super Bowl and being a part of that, like that’s all I want. And if people can recognize and remember me for that, then I’ll be okay when I’m all said and done. Thank you. Who must do the handset first? All right. Are you ready? You want to start on the shoes? to be like water. To be still, to be aware, to never get outside of your comfort zone. As you can tell, I forgot my shoes. I can’t freak out about it. I’m pissed I forgot them. And I can let those emotions get the best of me. But I’m allow myself to see the good thing, the good side of this. And the good side is I almost wore my slides. And look, look what it says. Crazy, right? We’re talking about, right? We got to go. To be like water is not to be aspiring for perfection. Perfection is a difficult master. Our next inductee is from the sport of football. It’s Josh Hines Allen. Okay, first off, this is not my full fit. I forgot my shoes earlier. Um, so I would not wear brown and black. Just wanted to shout that out. I got a little swaggy. I just That’s why I rely on my wife. I will talk about her later. I can’t believe I forgot my damn shoes, bro. Glad you didn’t bring your slide. I was about to wear my slides, too. So, I can’t, you know, it’s a blessing, I guess. It’s crazy cuz when you came out, you was barefoot. I was like, “Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. I was about to come back and I was like, “Oh, I’m comfortable. My I got my Burks right here. I’m might just put my BS in.” I was like, “No, I got to complete the Kentucky fit.

That sack against Herbert was a thing of beauty.
Josh's family raised a fine upstanding man. Kudos to them.

Bring the Mayor back!!!
Josh is the kind of guy you hope makes it in big places so he can show how to be a damn good human. To show you can be kind while being determined, that you can break records being humble, and lead by example for future generations to follow. This isn't just a guy you're happy to have on your team, this is a guy you're happy to know exists. Keep making a difference out there 41!
