49ers: Forty Niner Way — “A Blade of Grass” — Weeks 12 & 13 (vs. Panthers + Browns)

There’s an old saying, just give us a blade of grass and we’ll do our best to defend it. And uh we expect to take advantage of our opportunities. We expect to be relentless, violent. Those are the individuals who will strain all the way through no matter what the situation is, no matter what the down and distance is, no matter what the score is. We’ve got a locker room full of individuals that are going to do everything they can to win every down. It’s all about momentum. You know, how can we keep it going? And uh we had a good outing obviously back in Arizona, but you know that’s last week. So uh for us it’s how can we keep going as an offense, a defense, special teams and put together a team win. Obviously everybody knows November and December football is is huge, especially going into playoffs and everything. So for us, you know, this is a huge one. A lot is on the line and and we all want to go out and show out for each other, but more than anything, our fan base, man, get that place rocking, get Levis’s rocking. This is what it’s all about. Monday Night Football. Levi Stadium. Get your mind right. Monday night. Big opportunity. Don’t get better than this. Hey man, got a party on Monday Night Football. Keep that camera rolling. Let’s go. This game is is is huge. Huge. Monday night’s big. Monday night’s big. It’s all about just getting in, right? Just get in and then you see what happens from there. But if you want to get in, you better beat Carolina and you better beat the Bears. You look at the 49ers as they were coming into this season. It was a bit of a rebuild. They had lost a number of players, but yet they’ve been able to weather that and they finally got their whole group together offensively for the first time since week one. It’s an optimistic group. They feel that their best football is out ahead of them. I think they’re going to come out and play with a lot of emotion. We’re going to see an outstanding performance from the 49ers. When I say bang bang, you say n gang. Bang bang. Bang bang. Here’s McCaffrey out of the back field. He reaches and he got the first down. And he just laid out for that. McCaffrey is able to get 11 and a fresh set of downs. Looking to his left throws the cut to the 50 yd line and at the 48 of Carolina it’s a catch from Ricky Beers to McCaffrey cuts up field has another first down. Five games 16 touchdowns 19 trips. Here’s Jennings and he’s going to take it in after breaking tackles. Touchdown 49ers. Fourth touchdown of the year for Jawan Jennings. Can you say pinball wizard? What a great throw from Brock Perie. Just sliding that football right in between the defenders. Everybody converges on Jawan Jenny. Nobody wraps up. He pulls away from three guys and Jawan says, “I don’t think so.” Touchdown number four on the year. go. Hey, that’s all day. That’s just what we do. Hey, man. Great first drive, boys. Great first drive. I told you what we going to do. 9 minutes, three and out. 9 minutes, three and out. Hey, physicality, effort, execution, every snap all night long. Y’all got me. Offset left is D. They’ll fake the hand off to him. Blitz coming from the outside. Young avoids it. Now steps up, takes a huge hit. Horn here’s the shotgun snap and Young throws to the right. Dow in some space on the outside. Great job in the open field. One-on-one. Upton Stout wraps him up by the ankles and brings him down for a small gain. Three and out. Forest with 340 to go in the opening quarter. It’s 7 nothing. Here’s Dowel. Well handled by Jordan Elliot. They fake the handoff. It’s Young rolling right. He’s looking to the end zone. Tucks it. Has the first down. Gets to the 5 yd line. Takes a hit. He’s shy of the goal line at the two from Malik Mustafa. He’s on first and goal. Young keeps. He’s got a man and he’s picked by Gier Brown. Oh my god. What a play by Gier Brown coming off of the route. Jier Brown came off of the underneath coverage, reached up, pulled that down for a big time, big time takeaway. 49ers defense has been so good. Robert Salah calls it the baby Ners. They’re young, but they’re playing hard. 73 ball game. You better watch out for 27, man. Stop playing with him. Right back. Right back. Right back. Hey, that’s a Hey, big time play. It hasn’t changed, man. Hell of a place. Big time play. Great job. Hey, let’s go do it again. We need two more. Hey, we need two more. Do it again. Rush a sling pass out to the 25 yd line. Big cut from McAffrey. CMC to the 30 yd line. Takes on contact. And what a cut to make the first man miss for CMC. It’s a first down and a gain of nine. And I’ll tell you, a big part of of the cut is the ball coming out on time. McCaffrey, who leads the league in first downs this season by a mile, gets another one for San Francisco. First down. Perie over the middle. He’s got KD long hair flowing. Second down and seven. Perie able to pull it down and get the first down with his legs. And I think it brings up a point about Kyle Shanahan. On second down and five, it’s Young handing off to Hubard. Huard over the right guard position coming off the side edge is Jay Brown making a tackle. He’s already had an interception. Here’s Hubard out of the back field. Mustafa comes up to make the stop and now the decision is even easier. Great job execute. Let’s keep that going. Keep fans remember each time entertainment. Here’s Sky Moore. 33 y. Here’s Sky Moore who had that big return last week. Turns one in here tonight. Hery is able to get it to killer. And a big chunk play of 25 yds to George KD. 47 yd drive by Matt Gay. He’s able to knock it through. Y’all play some real ball. Y’all play some real They’re going to hand it down on first and 20 and he got a yard. Extra men on the rush. Quick throw. It’s broken up. McMillan the target and Bernardo Green knocked it away and the punt team comes on for Carolina. Pressure on Pery drops it off to McCaffrey. Gets away from Turk Wharton and gets 12. Shaw Smith wave. Third down and six. Wide open is Jennings. First down. Stage of the game would be huge. Toss to McCaffrey gets to the edge. got through it had his drive tossed to McCaffrey gets blocking and a touchdown. That was awesome. to the left. Snap coming off the outside edge of the near side. Jennings makes the catch and points the ball. Breaks another tackle break free. Here’s McCaffrey with a first down. Birdie keeps. There’s KD again. We’ve seen this a lot tonight. And he rumbles all the way down to the 26. Come on, let’s go. Oh, we going stupid. Young over the middle and intercepted by Brown for the second time. Jier came in with none and he’ll leave with at least two. Bryce Young is in trouble and down he goes. Sacked by Frell. That, as they say, is that that’ll do it. You know, a game that the Niners had to have a pivotal matchup between two teams jockeying for position in the NFC playoff picture. The 49ers will defeat the Carolina Panthers here tonight. 20-9 the final score. Man, Monday Night Football never easy. got my back. Teammates got my back. Yeah, we got his back, man. Best in the game. On the banks of Lake Erie and off the back of Thanksgiving, the 49ers aim for a week 13 win on the road here in Cleveland to try and get to 9 and four. This is going to be tough game today with this wind the way it is. Well, it is, Kevin. Wind is the hardest thing for a quarterback to deal with because it’s continually changing. We done brought dogs to the dog pound, baby. Let’s get it, baby. Car to bring the heat to the snow. We going to clean this snow today with the heat we bringing to the field. Who’s going to run the ball? Who’s going to stop the ball? The ners will have to contend against that defensive front as well as Miles Garrett. Maybe the best player in the entire NFL. Certainly the best on defense this year. Ner one. They are going to receive with Andre Schmidt kicking off. And here we go from the 18. He catches it in stride, runs along the right hash and breaks free past the 35, turning around the punter at the 40 yd line of Cleveland down the left sideline of the 30 to the 20 and wrestled out of bounds to the 15. One of the best return men in the NFL in 2025. Has another breakaway return and sets up the Niners offense and the Toyota Red Zone. Third and goal. McCaffrey touchdown guy in there all set up on a 66-yd punt return by Sky Moore. A one-yd touchdown run for Christian McCaffrey. Hey, not easy. It’s not easy. Hey, that’s that’s a long stretch. That’s a long stretch. Hey, I’m good for a CMC Ty. Sanders comes back out. He brings a different element in terms of looking for and being able to hit big plays down the field. Sanders to the air gets a block hit as he throws called wide open fon five touchdown Kund and the 49ers trail for the first time in three weeks it’s 8-7 Browns with 39 seconds to go before halftime shotgun snapper Pertie against a four-man rush clean pocket throws it left Pierong catches it one timeout first and 10 going deep into the wind and looking for KD they’re going to call the catch but with 4 seconds left they are going to bring the field goal whole unit out. George KD comes up with 33. Matt Gay elevated again off the practice squad. Second game for the Niners for the injured Panero from 25. Oh, he hit the upright. Did it go in? It did. It did. Boink in and through for three. Boy, what a response by the 49ers to recapture that momentum. Clinical 58 yds into the Niners go into the half up 108. Cleveland will get the ball first. Fourth and one. Oh, they dropped. Oh, they dropped the ball. It looks like Gford jumped on it. They did. A turnover. The game’s first. Luke Gford jumps on the ball. How about that? Y’all keep doing it. How about that? One to either side for Pury. A shotgun snap. Lifts it over the middle. H reaches head high, leaping for the catch inside the right numbers of the five and is brought down at the four. The fake. Certie. Touchdown San Francisco. What deception two-yd touchdown run Brock Perie and they cash in on the fumble recovery deep in Cleveland territory. And Brock puts it in his belly and then widens out. Uses his foot speed and skips across the goal line. Great play call. Better execution. We’re down 11. Thomas Morstead on to punt. Puts his right foot into it. It wobbles its way end over end to the 15. It’s muffed. The Niners have it at the 15 along the left numbers. Lower couldn’t secure and the ners come up with the football. Niners had this great possession. Perie to the end zone. Caught for the touchdown. Grabbed by Jawan Jennings. Four times in the red zone and three 49er touchdown. 17 unanswered for the 49ers who lead it 23 to8 with 1105 to play. We’ll see what should Sanders and the Browns offense have in response. Fourth and 16. Up the middle they come. Devoured on the play by Keon White. Five wide for Sanders on second down and 10. Takes the snap. Fiveman pressure for the Niners who flush him out right and track him down from behind. Put his foot on the gas pedal and run down Shador Sanders and clip his heel. Matt Jones to a knee. A 26-8 win. The 49ers win three straight games for the first time since their 3 and 0 start. City. Hey Fred, what’s up boy? That’s another one. Hey, Niners D, baby. It’s not too bad to be We talked earlier in the week. We had to win a game a way we hadn’t done it yet this year, man. What I was trying to word is exactly how that whole game went. Dude, they got in the end zone once all day. All right. If a team gets in the end zone once all day, we don’t turn it over on offense. Special teams, you get a turnover. D, you get a turnover. I think we saw him three times on fourth down. Sky big time play though, man. Everybody across the board, man. Full team win. All right. We knew what it was going to be. You guys laid down the line. We earned it. Appreciate everybody here. Niners on three. 1 2 3

  1. After we lost so many players on the defense to free agency, once we got Saleh back, I wasn't worried. My biggest concern from the last few years has been special teams. I cannot believe how the special teams is now one of our best strengths. Hats off to the coaches and players that have made us who we are now.

  2. Our 49ers are definitely all in to the end. They’ve been fighting and doing the best they can.
