I think he looks a bit better…. But marginally and certainly not considered a leap or “excelling”.
I don’t think Ime/ FO are looking for any sort of heliocentric playmaking but instead want multiple players able to handle the ball and playmake.
Truthfully… he has a bit of that Jalen Green in that he sometimes drives without plan and is forced to make some difficult, acrobatic move that is low %
i would by no means say that amen is “excelling” at anything related to playing the point. the offense looks horrible when he has the ball in his hands since teams dont have to respect his jumpshot and just pack the paint, and his decision making (and finishing at the rim) is far behind his athletic abilities. in fact, the more the handles the ball, the more it takes away from his ability to focus on the defensive end of the ball where he has the most impact. its okay to admit when something doesnt work and amen at the 1 simply doesnt work
I am loathing the idea of MITAmen / MIThompson
I love Amen but he hasn’t been a great PG. We tried this shit with KPJ and Jalen, maybe third time is the charm but idk.
I’ll die on the hill that Amen will never be a PG. Pigeon holing there won’t help his development either. He’s a two way wing through and through.
