Full Highlights | Maple Leafs vs. Hurricanes – Dec 4, 2025 (w/Joe Bowen)
Joseph Wall back in goal for Toronto. 33 and1 this season 2.53 but a very respectable 924 save percentage and a 12 and 0 lifetime mark against the Carolina Hurricanes. Puck is dropped. We’re underway. Glad you’re along with us. He’ll drop it back to his defense partner and McCabe finds a man open on the left wing going hard to the net. A shot off the goal. They score. It trickled in off the back foot of the goalender and this line that has been absolutely outstanding. Pots the opening goal of the hockey game. I think it’s going to be Bobby McMahon who gets credit for it, but it was a strange one. Off the post, off the leg, and into the net. Back to Gosh Despair. Top of the circle with a shot. Knocked down. Gloved, smothered, bobbled, juggled, and finally pounced on. by Joseph Wall. Joshua getting it freed up there for Wah. Back to the blue line. Wrist shot coming in traffic. It’s still free and it’s knocked back to the blue line. Riley closing with a shot and Anderson out this time makes the save. Matthews lined out for Toronto as it’s flipped down into the zone out of the goal wall to clear into the corner. And then he had to come roaring back to the net to make a save. And when he did, he his momentum had him slide all the way past the net, banking it back to the blue line. One of the Leafs has got a broken stick. Austin Matthews took a shot off the ankle in his last shift. Looked to be laboring a little bit in running out of real estate and then flipped to the line and not out. Kept alive now by Sebastian Auo. A centering pass and again Wall and of course when he had the big season he had six hatticks as a good save made by Wall getting it ahead on the right wing side and N is in. N looking to drop for Matthews who does with a wrist shot and he snapped it high over top of the goal. Face off one by the Hurricane stepping in with a shot and that was off a body and went just wide round back of the net. Doi reverses the puck poked to the line but not out. comes in front of the net. Good save with the glove made there by Wall, but he couldn’t catch it, but unable to control it cleanly was uh Stetcher and it’s back along the boards and now centered in front of the goal. Big save made by Wall and another sprawling save made by the Leaf Net Minder. He skates up the left wing boards to center and will shoot it in. Robertson can’t get into the Leaf again and they score. Oh my, it’s Scotty Lton again. Holy mak, what a break. It comes off the stansion out in front and bingo, bango, bongo. It’s two nothing. Getting the puck high into neutral ice. And a penalty probably coming here. Yes. Brought on by Sebastian Aaho. In on the left wing and a shot blockered away nicely by Wall. Back to the point it goes. Oliver Ecman Larson with a shot that redirected off Matthews. It had to be stopped by Anderson. Knander joins the rush. Knander fit for Matthews and he snapped it over top of the goal. Tavvaris in forch checking. Knander blocks that and then tried to find Cowan and he ended up losing an edge and falling and never getting to the puck. Now Aaho tries to center. They do in front and they score. Seth Jarvis finishes after it looked like Cowan was going to get a real good opportunity at the other end and the Carolina Hurricanes counterattack quickly and cut the lead in half. It’s two to one. Lost the puck but diligently gets back into the back check and takes it away. And then an errant pass and now a centering feed in front of the goal. Still free. it bouncing around and the Maple Leafs still don’t get a handle on it. All of this from a Robertson giveaway down into the corner and hauled down on the play. Two players and it looks like it’s going to be the Leaf who’s going to get the penalty and it may be Morgan Riley back into the right wing corner. It goes back into the slot near side trying to work in Fetchnikov. Shot blocked. Big rebound in front and it’s pushed up on the wall but not out. pumps it around the boards near side. Doi was late getting there to keep it in. Another rush in on the left wing driving the net on a good opportunity there for Carrier. AO gets it back to the point. Gostas Bear shot doesn’t make it through. Tipped out at center ice and a race for Gostas Bear’s lost his stick. He hauls down Ny who’s in on goal and scores. Holy mak what a play by Matthew Ny. He beats Gost Despair despite having a hold on him and goes in and scores to restore the twogoal lead and the Leafs have a 3-1 advantage. But another break by the Leafs, Joe, where not only does Matthew Ny get out to the point. Back to the point it goes off on the left wing side and a wrist shot coming deflects wide to the goal and it’s knocked off wall twisting and turning with it. Left wing side top of the circle into the slot. a one-time and that extended wall. I don’t know if he got a piece of that or not, but he had to go a long way. Leafs win the faceoff. Riley waiting for teammates to get in front and a deflection was stopped by Anderson. Played out at center ice by Carolina. Leafs counter it. Right back in again with Lton and Tavvaris. Tavvaris getting an a turnaround shot. Lton backhand but over top of the goal and Neander almost bunted it in. And the Leafs get the puck free and don’t get it out. Here’s a chance now for Carolina. Oh, and a great stick there by Matthew N to intercept and one defender back. Three Leafs in the rush. Doy in front of the net. They score. Matthews set up by Max perfectly. Leafs four Carolina one. But you called it the play by Matthew Ny to get his stick on the ice flat to be able to intercept a pass in the Leaf zone and then turn it back the other way. Nice threw it to Matthews and then Matthews a give and go with Maxi in a twoon one. Hurricanes are able to come away with it and they’ll get it back in on the left wing. Long wraparound attempt. Oh, if he was able to wrap it right around that near post, it’s in. But it went across in the middle of the almost almost clattered in between the legs of wall and out the other way. Out of the near side, grabbed off by Mike Riley down into the corner. Long shift here for the Maple Leagues. It comes free. Cleared by Tvaris, but not out. He can’t get by one Carolina player. It comes to center and now three of them are across the blue line. Shot from an angle. Big pad save. He tries to clear out at center to catch the Leafs. He gets him in on the left wing. Good poke check made there by Oliver Ecman Larson to break up the rush. Leafs don’t get it out though. Here’s the Hurricanes in with a shot. Blocker away by Wall. Puck cleared to the near wing. Bad news is Joseph Wall will not finish the game. Yeah, they are saying it’s lower body fed around the boards by Nikish and now played to the line but not out. Leafs keep it in. Cow centers in front. Knander got a chance and there’s going to be a penalty here to Carolina. Got it a little deeper into the corner and Tavvaris arrives on the scene to try and dig it free. And he does out in front. All alone is Eman Larson a shot. He got another crack at it. Oh, and he could have shot it again. He had the goalender down but elected to try and find a pass in front of the net. Now here is the Hurricanes breaking twoon-one and a shot stopped by Hill to be on the short side and Knander starts back the other way. Matthews takes his pass. He’s in across the line left wing side. Tried to stick handle around the defense but couldn’t do it. Cleared off the boards centering pass. No nice doesn’t shoot it. Tried to look for a back door play. Knocked down on the play back on his skates. gave the puck away and it is going to be brought out again by Carolina. Brought in over the line by Nikian. Nikeshan into the slot and that stop made by Hilderby. Leafs get it up on the wing. Doi across the line. Matthews little stutter step in on goal. Not try to get up on the rush. Puck is down in the Toronto zone. Centering pass in front. Down in front of the goal and underneath him is the puck as Hildevy came out swimming. Back come the Hurricanes and across the line. They’ll play it into the corner and around the boards it goes off a stick. Maybe delay a game. If this puck went over the glass, it might have been batted out of midair. Gets it returned near half boards. Back to the point to Gostas Bear. Back to Aaho. Closing wrist shot. Blockered away nicely by Hilde. Gostas Bear right in the middle of the rank. Off to AO on the left wing. One-time from the other side that was blocked. Draw one by Carolina. Shot blocker away. Nicely by Hildy. Centering pass in the goal crease. Knocked away and the Leafs are breaking it out at center. Brought on by Bobby McMahon. Hustling to the front of the net is off Oliver Ecman Larson and that was knocked down. Benois tripped in front of the net trying to get into the corner. And no call. And the Leafs are going to poke it out at center and get to the red line. And Tavaris launches it in over the line. Cowan trying to get a stick free. N gets out at center. Tries to beat two defenders. takes his boy this is this better be a double miner to one against each player because both of them hooked on to one another only to lose it then got it back again gets to the line and in rink wide pass left wing side for a pass in front of the net shot stopped rebound in front of the goal anderson makes his best save of the game catching a shot in tight looking back to the near wing for Walker but doesn’t give it to him now sends it to the side of the goal centering pass broken up Leafs Get it off the boards and out at center. Leafs trying to play it out. Have it go off a body. Volleyball then by Loren, but not out. Is able to get a skating room. Got it ahead. Bobby McMahon bulling his way to the empty net and he scores. That is appropriate the way this line has played this road trip. And Bobby McMahon gets his second goal of the game, eighth of the season to ice this one away. 51 Toronto. The Leafs will win their third in a row and four in their last five after dropping the first game of the road trip in Montreal.

Aside from a couple minutes in the 1st, and a couple minutes in the 3rd, the leafs played amazing defense all night. The o zone times don't paint the right picture. Leafs kept the canes to the outside all night. Canes didnt look dangerous really at any point.
I don't see why folks aren't more positive on DH? Kid has looked solid since being recalled. Looks a lot like Woll in the net with his size and low body movements. Excited to see him get a shot on Saturday. More positivity folks.
On the 4th goal, Knies not only with the interception in the D zone but the perfect pick on the back checking D man in the o-zone.
Leafs actually winning games and not just super close 1 goal games.
Knies what a game!!!!!! Let's go Leafs!!!
It's Holy Mackerel you pompous jerk
Why is the barn lighting dark
i miss chris tanev on our squad, stecher is a GUY tho
The only way to claw back from a losing streak is a winning streak. Keep it going fellas.
God bless ya Joey, hopefully a short and fixable injury. Great game boys got on em early and stayed on em, lets get one back on MTL this saturday and get ready or Tampa, Nyanders bound for a great game hes been too quiet lately.
started bad ended bad…where is the power play? you have to shoot the puck ..5 on 5 ….tons of shots but powerplay its too much messin around ..i dont understand
Knies goal was absolutely insane. He's got the dog in him. Beast.
Finally, they are playing with heart, and they are playing FOR EACH OTHER. Nice job, boys.
Honestly, as good as the Knies goal was. It was even better how he blocked Nikishin on the 4th goal from coming back to break up the play. Totally pissed off the defender lol
Joe Woll, is in fact, still sliding after making that 3rd save! 🤣
Bingo, Bango, Bongo, Holy Mackinaw this announcer sounds amazing announcing a Leafs victory.
Knies is a beast
23s built like a Humvee but has hands like a pianist.
Thanks as always Jelly
It is just what it is!!! Bingo, bingo, booom!!! 👍👍👍
Stecher looks good as a Leaf. How the Oilers waived him considering they're a horrible team defensively is beyond me. It tells me Edmonton has no clue
why are the refs allowing the Carolina player to stand in front of Woll and slash him across the legs?
ANOTHER good game, solid effort from start to finish. I'm loving seeing the lesser lights contributing so much, showing grit and passion. THIS is what they've needed all along.
Woll is made of glass man.
Can you believe that some idiots wanted to trade knies and keep Marner. Lmao
Knies is a real star, he's no cupcake kid that won't check.
I prefer my favorite team have real men and actual physical hockey players.
Love knies, he's a keeper for sure.
Woll out. Stollarz out. Leafs out.
Bingo bango bongo 🙂
Leafs on fire , thats more like it!
Finally solid hockey by LEAFS ! ! ! Lets go !
6:43. Sean Avery rule?
Great job on the highlights I look foward to these after every game. I can’t watch the ones the NHL puts out.
Woll has been an absolute stud. Hopefully Stolz is taking notes.
Stetcher has been unreal. Leads the team in ice time for the night. Matthews is looking great – 6 blocked shots on the night, leading the team. Knies is a monster. Team's back on track.
Troy Stecher led the Leafs in ice time, playing nearly 25 minutes. That's pretty good for a waiver acquisition.
Very knies❤
Yez… very Knies
goaltender hurt again wtf
