Grant Cohn Invites 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk onto his Channel to Talk

I want to hear Brandon Iayuk’s side of the story. We know the 49er side of the story. It’s that Brandon Iayuk is simply immature and unprofessional and doesn’t communicate and essentially he didn’t show up to some team sponsored rehab assignment, team supervised rehab assignment in June. In July in the off season, some technicality in his contract that he can’t fight and that’s why they’re ruining their relationship, kicking him off the team. He’s supposed to be part of the future along with Brock Pery and Nick Bosa, but Nick Bosa is allowed to rehab away from the team, but Brandon Iayuk isn’t. I mean, that’s what this is all about, right? A double standard. Brandon Iayuk’s around the team now. He isn’t going to meetings because he’s not going to be on this team in the future, but he’s fulfilling his contractual obligations now. He did last year during the season. It’s just during the offseason when he went away and did it on his own. Kind of like Nick Bosa. Those guys are similar. They both make about $30 million a year. both held out for contracts. They both want special treatment. One guy gets it, Nick Bosa, the other guy doesn’t. And Brandon Iayuk and he resents it because shouldn’t didn’t he if Bosa gets special treatment, shouldn’t I get special treatment? I don’t know. Maybe I don’t understand the situation. It just seems like Aayuk’s being punished for something that Bosa does routinely that the Niners don’t have an issue with. So, Brandon, if you’re watching, if you’re out there, if you want to get your side of the story to the public at some point, if you want to really stick it to the 49ers, come on my show. Let me interview you. Let me ask you what really happened. [Music]

  1. Juan is ayuik. Easy. Pay the man less ofcourse, he’s number 2. Offseason. Pearsal! Number 1. Sign Bourne for wr3. Don’t fuck up this system!!!!! It reminds me of the chiefs, though I hate them.

  2. A lot of money does strange things to people who are not grounded. The Niners would not have their excellent locker room reputation if they were this lacking and inconsistent at leadership and football.

  3. Deeboo Samuel left a good team in the Niners Now ge went yo a team that is rebuilding Niners have a good team with or without good play Good going Lynch and Shanahan My old Niners went through problems to and the owner was awesome at winning all those Super Bowls Live and learn from that all you star players Lynch and Shanahan are getting better

  4. It sounds like you are doing nothing but a bunch of assuming first you say you want him want to hear his side then you explain that a contractual disagreement on where he's rehabbing are you for sure that is the issue because your statement said it was

  5. It seems the rehab appointment has more nuance to it than being allowed to rehab away from the team. I have no details on it and only know what has been reported on via rumors. (I say rumors because neither the organization or BA have specifically said what he missed) But my guess would be that BA either didn't show up to a session where the organization was going to evaluate his recovery progress, or the organization wasnt allowed at a training session to evaluate his recovery progress. I have an extremely hard time believing that if Bosa, or Warner, or Williams, or any other player that is out for the season miss a session like that, that the same exact thing wouldn't happen to them as well. Especially if their recovery goes into next season and they don't end up playing at all.

  6. I usually dislike you Grant, but… I agree.

Asked out of love due to personal experience…
I genuinely wonder, from a place of gentle curiousity but some authority, if Brandon Aiyuk has mild autism? He swayed and stimmed in his Super Bowl loss and his behavior seems familiar, acting in ways that might seem out of place and perhaps not able to always predict others' reactions accurately (I have close family with autism).

I have only seen Brandon Aiyuk's YouTube videos and some interviews, but he GENUINELY seems like a very very brilliant, very shy and sensitive and gentle soul.

There is zero disrespect meant and I can only say, IF Brandon does not know how to easily communicate with words and gets drained by too much human contact, which is no judgment whatsoever from me, he DESERVES to have special consideration on this.

It's 2025 and the friggin Bigs (business, pharma, chemicals, MIC etc) have messed all of us up one way or the other.

I can only say I am 1000000% a Brandon Aiyuk the Man fan as it stands tonight.

Still think you're a Drama Queen though Cohn πŸ˜‚
