Dec. 4: Postgame Interviews
pointing in a game that uh Mont went back here. Come grab me. Um yeah, you know, we obviously want to come in and uh get a victory for him and um you know, it’s obviously uh it’s it’s on us and um it’s just not the outcome we were looking for. How do you look at the the game defensively for you guys? Um, you know, I think it’s my job to just focus on myself. And I think, uh, there’s areas tonight where I wasn’t good enough and and times where I was good enough and and an opportunity to, uh, come back strong after a tough game last game. So, that’s on me and, um, that’s my job. So, um, yeah. And in the second period, how do you kind of try to to reset as things are going that way? Um, just always just stay with it and, you know, you get knocked down, you get right back up. So, um you just got to keep pushing forward and and uh just uh sometimes the game goes like this and um no matter what though, it’s it’s a privilege to play in this league even on the tough days like this. And um you know, that’s why you just reset the mind after the second there and come out for the third. Just you know, being grateful to be out here and do your best and um just trust that uh trust the process and um your work you’re putting in with intention will will come around. Do you feel like with your game that you have the answers like to the things that you need to fix or the things that you know that are part of this the process or do you feel like you’re not sure what the the answers are at this point? Yeah, good question. Um I feel like at this point I have a good amount of experience and I know myself pretty well. So I would say yeah I do as well as using the resources like coaches and um you know mentors in your life. But um it’s a combination of everything. But I believe uh you know you can overthink it sometimes and I think um sometimes simplicity is is key. What’s the key and kind of implementing those answers into into action? Um as in what you say you you know what the answers are, but putting them into the game and and putting them into performances. Uh I mean you know that’s that’s two tough games. I think uh there was some good games before that. So, I think it’s just just staying with it and um just preparing each day like uh approaching each game the same and and doing your best and um I I know uh how that goes. So, just believing in yourself and finding that inner inner belief on a consistent basis and I think I’ll be all right and we’ll be all right. It’s just a tough result in a in a game where Monty’s bad here. Yeah, obviously. Um anytime you lose it’s a tough result. Um yeah, not the way we want it to go. How do you kind of pinpoint the uh the issues defensively tonight? Uh I mean it’s tough to say right now. Obviously you got to we got to look at it, but um just generally just got to make sure we stay connected as a group always. Um in the Dzone, neutral zone, offensive zone, just play connected. That’s the biggest thing I think. Um I mean from just general, that’s what I can say about it right now. Obviously we’ll look at the video and go over the things that happened, but um yeah. on the uh on the second goal. Can you just take us through what you’re you’re reading when the puck goes into the corner? Uh you and Ro were both down there. Yeah. Uh it was loose puck I saw and so I just tried to jump in there and grab the loose puck and uh I think Broby lost his blade, broke his blade on the play and then just they end up coming up with it and uh yeah made pass in the slot. Guy in the slot was open and put it in. and and uh I guess on the Zakod or the uh the end of the second period that the rebounds is just kind of tough to to draw that. Yeah, it’s a tough spot. I mean, I don’t know. It’s obviously if you like sometimes you you like to play certain plays differently and um that’s the nature of the game. You got to be prepared every shift and uh make sure you’re on your toes each shift. Mont, just what were your your general thoughts on that one? Bruins were really good. We weren’t. What areas did you want to be better in? Everyone defensively. Where do you think the the breakdowns happen for you guys? Poor reloads, poor gaps. I think Jordan Bennington was one of our better players tonight. Wasn’t for him, it could have been a lot worse. Didn’t see Thomas the last 10 minutes just, you know, this game was out of hand, so there was no need to play him. Wasn’t a benching. Was not a benching. Was it just dealing with whatever he was dealing with injury-wise? Yeah, he didn’t skate the last two days, so let’s just continue to rest it. I mean, when you talk about the the bad reloads, bad gaps, is that simple thing to to fix? Yeah, it’s an effort thing. It’s a simple thing to fix. The the effort, we’ve been talking about that for probably about a month now. The effort, desperation, just how how does that happen? Um um it’s it’s a good I don’t have to look at the film to have a better answer for you, but I know it’s it’s it’s it starts with, you know, from within from everybody. Are you surprised it’s taken this long to to still be wanting more in that department? Yes.

Monty was about to snap on that last guy. He’s had enough. We’ve had enough. Blow it up. Can’t fix effort without fixing the culture of the locker room. Who’s been here throughout the duration of the problem? Schenn Thomas, Kyrou, parayko. Would love to see Schenn and Kyrou moved(yes I know there’s a NTC) Next years top line:
McKenna Thomas Snuggerud oooweee
Monty I know you are surprised it’s taking this long to see consistent effort from St. Louis Blues players but that’s just not like us sorry
These over paid kids are going to get ANOTHER coach fired. Time to bench some of the egos. I wish I got paid millions to play a game I love, must be fucking nice.
There is no cohesion in this team!! And very little desperation or effort!! Sad
Can Army go too? He's been a nightmare since 2019
Monty looks and sounds like a beaten man
The team as a whole look like a bunch of slugs. I can't believe this far into the season the player who seems to care the most is Joseph. He works extremely hard every game.
People always want to put the blame on Kyrou. He's not the problem. If we end up trading him, he's going to go to a team with better players on his line and I wouldn't be surprised to see him a 40 goal scorer in the future with that team.
