Since Carlile was called up under emergency call up conditions (having fewer then 12 forwards, 6 Defenseman, or 2 goalies), he was able to play up to 9 games without needing waivers to be reassigned. Since he has now played 9 games, we sent him down now so we don’t risk losing him to waivers.

Ah thanks for the explanation. I was assuming this meant Hedman is coming in on Saturday.
I believe he was waiver free anyway, as he hadn’t been on the NHL roster for 30 days or played 10 games since last clearing.
