Pirates Claim Former Top Prospect Marco Luciano

  1. Shame he couldn’t figure it out with us. Hope he does well in Pittsburgh but he’s feeling like an AAAA player at this point.

  2. I spent what feels like 10 years of my life following his development all for it to end up like this? Crazy

  3. Never forget the dudes who didn’t want to lose Harrison or Luciano in a trade for Juan fucking Soto.

  4. Felt like they rushed him up the minors way too quickly and it really fucked up his development. He had a really rough year last year in the minors. Best of luck to him

  5. I just want to know how nobody in the organization could tell early on that Luciano has terrible defense. Surely that is something you figure out after a couple years and trade him before his value completely tanks.

    Prospect hoarders take another L

  6. At one point he was the number #8 prospect in the MLB pipeline, sad to see him go out this way

  7. Frankly I’m relieved. I feel like I’ve been hearing about him and his “potential” for over a decade.

  8. Pirates are very slowly making up the debt from letting Barry Bonds leave for here lol

  9. The only good thing he did was help create a bad situation against the Mets that lead to Chapman’s amazing walk off play

  10. He and Joey Bart has will have some great conversations. Hard to take over for legends

  11. i dont think they called him up once last year 2025.

i understand the horrible defense but why not DH the kid.

Have him just focus on hitting.

  12. We suck at developing. They should just shift to trading their prospects at as high a level as possible for proven talent

  13. Wow, didn’t know he was waived. Another highly regarded prospect that just wasn’t good. It’s been a long time since we develop a decent starting position player, have to go back almost 15 years

  14. Another Giants masterclass in mismanaging prospects and failing to get any value from them.

  15. Never understood why he wasn’t made a 2B after it was clear he wasn’t going to be a SS. Seems like that would have been an easier transition than learning to play OF, and the Giants haven’t had anyone really locking down 2B in what seems like forever.
