He can embrace what he does well without taking hits. I don’t know why people think those two things aren’t mutually exclusive? What Dart excels at above anyone else I’ve seen so far is his scrambling ability. That does not mean he needs to run directly into a linebacker. One thing I don’t like about Dart is he will not listen to his coaches or his teammates regarding taking hits. He will inevitably go out for 3 critical games and put the entire team in jeapardy.
Dart’s running game is elite. His not-getting-his-clock-cleaned game is much less so.
at this point, I honestly worry more about the negative influence of all this talk and pressure on jaxson darts progression than I do about the hits he is taking.
his running ability is an elite trait. can he be smarter about it? yes. does he need the entire sports media world, giants beat, and giants fans hyper focusing on it – i dont think thats helpful.
