This Was EMBARRASSING To Witness…
This was embarrassing to witness. The Dallas Mavericks, who before tonight was on a three-game win streak where everything was coming together, the offense was getting better. The defense was holding strong. Guys were coming back from injuries and staying healthy. The Dallas Mavericks may have given us false hope from this three-game win streak where we did beat a bad Clippers team, but then we came and beat the Nuggets and then we beat the Miami Heat. And although the Oklahoma City Thunder is the best team in the league, they’re 21-1 before tonight. So, of course, it was going to be a battle. Even though they did have many key players out, the Dallas Mavericks were poised for a fight. And instead, we got completely and absolutely curb stomped. The first quarter was probably our best quarter. It was 27 to 27. We kept it close and competitive. SGA played the entire first quarter, so we knew the second quarter was ours. But boy, were we absolutely wrong. Anthony Davis was held to zero points in the first half and he didn’t score until the fourth quarter where it seemed like we were just trying to force him to score so we could sit him and then even before he scored he goes down with a knee injury on quue for Anthony Davis. This loss shouldn’t hurt as much as it does but after you build up the confidence of the fan base from these last several games any loss coupled with an injury feels like a ton of bricks just smack you across the face. So, in this video, we’re going to take a look at tonight’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, try to find out what looked good, analyze everything that looked bad, as well as who’s still on business. But, how’s it going everybody? My name is Marcel Martin. This is Mavericks Digest, bringing you the latest news on everything Mavericks related. And before we get started with today’s video, we are currently sitting at 23,560 subscribers. We are moving fast, we’re growing strong, and we are on the road to 25K. So, if you want to be up to date on everything Mavericks related, make sure you subscribe. But the Dallas Mavericks were were on a three-game win streak before tonight’s game where we did have some pretty good wins, some easy wins as well. But the three-game win streak was supposed to be a turning point for the Dallas Mavericks where everything’s falling together. Everything’s coming together for the team. It’s starting to make sense. The guys are playing well with each other. Guys are coming back from injury and the Dallas Mavericks were poised to try to hang on, fight to get to at least 500. So by the time Kyrie Irving comes back, we can see what the rest of the season looks like. And with all due respect to the Oklahoma City Thunder, no matter what you all may feel about them, the refs, SGA, the Thunder are the best team in the league, and they proved it tonight. They are now 22-1. Only lost to the Trailblazers earlier in the season, even though they’re dealing with many key injuries. There was no Isaiah Hartenstein. There was no Alex Caruso. the Dallas Mavericks. Yeah, we don’t have Kyrie Irving, no Gaffford, no Livey, no PJ, but the Dallas Mavericks had every reason to fight, at least make it close, but that just wasn’t the case. The first quarter was amazing. The best basketball that we’ve ever seen this team come out, at least in the first quarter, all season long. It was 2727. Things look pretty good. The second quarter, still fighting. It’s kind of getting away from us. We go down at the half, but Anthony Davis hadn’t scored yet. At first, you would think, “Oh, we’re we’re on our way. He hasn’t scored yet, but he will in the second half.” But little did we know, he hadn’t scored because it just was not his night. They were double teaming him, putting a lot of pressure on him. And although there again, there was no Isaiah Hardstein there. There was no physically big big out there to stop Anthony Davis. Yeah, they had Jayla Williams, they had Chad, but we have Anthony Davis. You would think that it was Anthony Davis guarding Anthony Davis. When you look at the box score, it was absolutely insane. And then while trying to guard Chad on a baseline drive, 80 goes down, holding his knee, and all hope was lost. Mavericks fans around the world knew exactly what was going on. It was the Anthony Davis special. He plays good for a few games, then boom, an injury comes out of nowhere. But the silver lining in all of this is that he didn’t leave the game. He didn’t check out and he was gone. They wrapped up his knee. He went to the bench and then by the fourth quarter he went down in third quarter but in the fourth quarter he comes back. He’s actually starting in the fourth quarter. We had most of our starters in while being down by 30 and it was absolutely bizarre. But then after several attempts when Anthony Davis finally scored they took him out because they only wanted to make sure that he went throughout the entire game with at least two points. Absolutely shameless. But then again, it is the Oklahoma City Thunder. They are the best team in the league. This really shouldn’t hurt as much as it does when you lose to the best team when you know you are nowhere near them. The the the gap between us and the Oklahoma City Thunder is further than earth from the sun. But if we take a look at the box score from tonight’s game, Anthony Davis, two amazing points on one of nine shooting, zero I’m sorry. Yeah, he was 0 of two from the free throw line. Had eight rebounds, six assists, and one block. Every player, I guess, is awarded a bad game. Anthony Davis is coming back from injury. His fingers are still, I guess, kind of messed up. He tweaked his knee. I Whatever it is, Anthony Davis had an off night. And it was honestly the worst night for him to have an off night. Naji Marshall played fairly well. Had 18 points on eight of 11 shooting, two of four from the free throw line, 0 of two from three. He had one rebound, two assists, and one steal. Cooper Flag somewhat struggled in the first half, but overall a fairly decent game. had 16 points on 5’11 shooting. Still 0 of three from three. That three-pointer needs to start falling for him. He was also six of six from the free throw line with two rebounds, two assists, but he also had four turnovers. I’m going say this was a below average game for Cooper Flag. I know that he’s better than this. It is a Thunder. Again, they’re a good a good team. You got to give them credit. And Max Christie coming back to his more consistent form. Had 12 points on five of six shooting, two of three from three. Had three rebounds and one steal. And Ryan Nimhard’s not the craziest performance like we’ve seen, but still a good performance nonetheless. Had 10 points on four of eight shooting, two of three from three with three rebounds, four assists, only one turnover. And off the bench, you got Dwight Pow with three points, two rebounds, two assists. You had Caleb Martin with three points. Yeah, three points. And first of all, let me bring up the big camera. Caleb Martin made a three-pointer tonight. That was his ninth field goal made all season long. Just wanted to bring some emphasis to that. He had nothing else. Just out there getting cardio. Musa Cisce had garbage time. Didn’t really do anything but get get three rebounds and one block. Klay Thompson a very very bad night for Clay after he’s been playing so great off the bench for us. Had only three points on one of seven shooting, one of five from three with five rebounds and one block. D’Angelo Russell looking pretty good in spurts. I guess I know the majority of his points did come in garbage time where nothing really mattered, but he had 12 points on four of seven shooting, four of six from three. He had three rebounds, three assists, and only one turnover. And Brandon Williams had nine points on three of nine shooting, one of four from three, two of two from the free throw line with three rebounds, seven assists, only one turnover. Now, Jaden Hardy, who really hasn’t gotten any run over the last several games, but he did play today because we were getting dog walked by 30, was our leading scorer with 23 points, eight of 13 shooting, five of nine from three, two of two from the free throw line, had two rebounds, two assists, and only one turnover. The Dallas Mavericks, our record worsens. We’re now eight and 16. But to be fair, it is the Thunder. This was a good team. This loss really isn’t that bad. Anthony Davis most likely won’t play in tomorrow’s game as it is a backto-back against the against the Houston Rockets. So, I don’t really expect him to play. We have about a week off after that until we play our next game because of the inseason tournament which obviously we’re not going to participate in. We’re not that good obviously. But the Dallas Mavericks um a lot of bad things happened today. Just horrible shooting outside of garbage time. The turnovers was limited for the most part. The defense was falling apart left and right. We could not catch our footing at all. But if someone had to stand on business, you gotta give it to someone on the Oklahoma City Thunder. I’m not even giving it to Jaden Hardy because unfortunately Jaden Hardy makes his shots when they don’t matter. When the majority of your points come from garbage time, congratulations. You know how to score when there’s absolutely no pressure and the game doesn’t matter. But if we want to take a look at a few things here, Anthony Davis, two points, eight rebounds, six assists, one of nine from the floor, 24 minutes. And don’t forget that one injury. So, it is what it is, but we move. If you want to take a look at exactly what happened, he fell, grabbed his knee, but he did not leave the game. He went to the bench, wrapped it up. He did come back. So, for the most part, he’s fine. And when this happened, I know a lot of Mavericks fans had the same thought as I did. Shut him down for the season. Put him to the bench, let him rest and recover while you find a trade partner. The Dallas Mavericks cannot hang their hat or gamble on the health of Anthony Davis. If Anthony Davis were to leave the game and have a major injury where he had to miss time, we’re going back to a losing streak. When everything started to fix itself, when everything started to come together, we cannot be this fragile. The Dallas Mavericks cannot be a house of cards where when we’re stacked up, built up nice, we look amazing, but a small gust of wind completely knocks us down. That can’t be how we are. One of the things that a lot of people mentioned about this team over the summer was how deep this team is. But how deep are you if one injury can change everything for the success of this team? The Dallas Mavericks have a long road ahead of them. We don’t know when Kyrie Irving is going to return. We don’t know when Derek Live is going to return. There’s a lot. This team is very, very fragile. We don’t know what the future holds. And it only takes one bad injury to change the entire trajectory of this season for the Dallas Mavericks. But last thing I’m going to show you guys tonight is yeah update Davis uh Anthony Davis has a wrap on his knee. So yeah, he he he was good. He came back to the bench, came back in the game. It is what it is. But um but that’s all I got for you guys today. Uh let me know in the comment section down below who do you think still don’t business. I’d say give it to somebody on the Thunder or if you want to give the Jay Hardy go right ahead. Congratulations. 23 points in Garbage Time. You are the Michael Jordan of Garbage Time. Jay Hardy. But we move. We play the Rockets tomorrow in a backtoback. We’ll see how it goes. But thank you for making this part to the video. Make sure you check out our Twitter and Discord links in the description below. And as always, y’all take care. Drink water. Peace.
Marcel Martin breaks down the Dallas Mavericks’ embarrassing 132-111 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, analyzing how a lack of energy and defensive effort led to a complete collapse. He highlights the team’s poor shooting, lack of urgency, and inability to contain OKC’s young stars. Marcel also discusses what this blowout says about the Mavs’ mentality — and why serious changes may be needed to get back on track.

Man please stop with the negativity. It’s depressing as hell and it is not helping your podcast. You don’t have to be a cheerleader but you don’t have to be a Debbie Downer either
This was the deciding game for Ad trade now it's clear we need to let him go and trade
Free Kyrie from this Weak ass Franchise.
AD needs to drink water 💦
the number 1 team and we lost omg im not suprised at all. we are down a pg 2 centers and we will bouce back this isnt the playoffs
Dude we are missing alot of peopleubiquitous
Ad needs to retire and take care of his health instead.
Did you think Dallas could beat OKC? Get real.
Give hardy more minutes, 23 in 20 mins. 5-9 from 3 8-13 from the field
Ad injury prone
We just didnt have a good pressence in the paint. Our big guuys were gone. Cooper played awful to be honest. AD too. nemhard didn't really go off. Nemby. haha. btw, what happened to B Will's shot? he used to drain everything .
This why we should give up ad
I am sorry. I wish AD well but I am over him being in a Mavs uniform. You can't count on him. I have really tried to be positive and give him a chance. But I can't even do it anymore…
60 mil for this the next 3 seasons…hes got no real trade value
This is what I mean , a little three game winning streak made yall think they was for real , Trade ad enough is enough
At this point he faking an injury cause wtf….
Wtf mavs fans are insane. Last few days y’all was JUST saying “keep AD” “Don’t trade AD for anyone,he’s a key piece” “Did Nico cook?”. One game later y’all mad?? 😂😂😂
Bruh you aint winning against the okc. The mavs might be doing good with 3 games win streak but not anywhere good enough against the thunders.
Only an idiot had "built up confidence" 😂😂😂😂😂
well it’s the thunder i’m not that upset regardless we couldn’t shoot all year till recently this game solely on AD and Klay😭😭😭
Mr. Glass needs to go on somewhere else. This is tiresome.
Why is Caleb Martin even on the team? Would any other team jus take him for free? That would clear the spot to give Nembhard a real contract. Damn it’s gonna be years before we remove the Nico stink from this franchise.
Wheelchair Davis at it again boy was horrible
Bro it was okc why are we pressed yeah we need to find answers but the refs love SGA
No PJ Washington or Daniel Gafford. Not the disaster it's being made out to be
Just trade AD
Dwight Powell always Stands on Business
Quit fu**ing complaining!! Jesus I am so sick of Kidds whining!! Play the team you have and shut up!!! You traded Luka " you made your bed now sleep in it"!!!
Trade AD while he has some value. That's not being negative its being realistic.
Is OKC the best team in the league. I had no idea, why didn’t he tell us….
LA gets Gianis, Milwaukee gets AD and all the 1st round picks LA and Dallas can come up with. Dallas gets Luka
I get it Marcel, it’s not that we lost…it’s how
In don’t know what’s worst, the injuries or the delusional fans. This team will never know what it could be unless we get all of our players back for an extended period of time. Unfortunately it don’t look like that will ever happen!! Also, missing all of these key players would haunt any team but y’all only feel that with the Mavs which is delusional. Let any teams top 2 players go out for extended periods together and they will , at best be a .500 team. How the team proceeds with all these injury prone players, Hek I don’t know, but not looking at the obvious and continually complaining sue to feelings is annoying. Luka and Reeves go down, LA in the same boat, as us, Joker and Murray out, same as Mavs, Brunson and Towns, same thing. The list goes on and on. Look at the obvious people!!!
Okay I'm getting over my disappointment
Kidd will use this shellacking to motivate the team and get them to exert full effort
For them to hang right with OKC for the whole first quarter, despite the Dallas stars stinking the place up, was surprising
After tonight they'll have a week for some good practice and recovery time before the next game.
I think Kidd messed up Nembhard's flow by giving Williams half the game
He doesn't know when to stop experimenting
I say trade Davis for picks and a okay center with hardy and a 2nd round pick. Klay seems okay now he’s a good vet but his market is slowly going downhill
They Need to TANK this year. Trade AD.
