Shelby Harris Reveals Why He’s So Mad at 49ers WR Jauan Jennings

So Shelby Harris went on a podcast and revealed what Jawan Jennings said during that game against the Browns and upset Cleveland so much. And essentially when Malik Collins was down about to get carded off the field, Jawan Jennings came over and had a bunch of comments for a bunch of the Browns and invoked their wives and children. That sounds pretty foul. I could understand why Shelby Harris was upset. His point was like, “Look, the only reason Jawan Jennings can talk that crazy is because we’re on a football field and if we retaliate and punch him, we get fined and the team gets penalized. So if he tried to say that in the street, I’d smack him in the face.” That’s where I feel like his logic breaks down a little bit. I mean, if he smacked him in the face in public, that’s assault. He could still get in trouble. Seems to me the beauty of football. What makes it different from all the other sports is that it there’s a self-p policing mechanism from when they snap the ball to the time that the referee blows the whistle. Shelby, you’re allowed to hit Jawan Jennings legally. That’s the nature of the sport. He’s going to get the ball five, six times a game. All 11 of you guys on defense are more than welcome to smack the out of them. I mean, that’s football. But you don’t. You know why? cuz your team sucks. And that’s probably what Jawan Jennings was talking about. He didn’t need to bring wives and kids into it. But like if you really had any pride as a football team, you would have just handled it on the field during a play legally because the rules allow you to. But instead, you complained about it to the media and then followed up on a podcast. That’s tough. [Music]

  11. Im a niner fan but at some point we have to ask the question why is Jennings always having runs in with other people. He is the common denominator. He is known to continue blocking people after the whistle etc.

  13. JJ is a special kind of athelete. A professional one. He should show more class and not discount another man's dignity, especially a former teammate with whom he has shed blood with on the field. Shelby Harris is probably honorable here. I love 3rd and Jauan, but surely his credit is shot. This isn't coming from way out of left field. Guys have been saying he has this specific problem. JJ needs to do better.

  14. I never talked S when I played because I didn't want some dude who cared more about vengeance than winning to come and try to end my season. It's true, that mechanism exists in football. Plenty of dudes talk S, but the ones who do all the time (or bring it too far) always have a target on their back.

    So maybe we should start carrying whistles and that'll stop or prevent them from attacking us while we're on the streets? Doesn't make sense at all. Alot of these NFL players are fake tough guys wanna be thugs. All bark and no bite.

  30. You’re not wrong, but I do wish you would’ve gone in harder on Juwan Jennings. I’m a 49er fan for life, but you don’t go after wives and kids. That’s just off limits and way out of bounds. I don’t care if my own teammate does it, I’m gonna check that sh*t.

  31. Family, wives and kids isn't Jauan Jennings style, this is how you KNOW Shelby Harris and any other Browns player including the great Myles Garrett is full of shit. Furthermore, let's say JJ did make some wisecrack about wives and kids; that is so freaking middle school that as grown ass men, you see it as childish gibber jabber. The fact that Shelby Harris is going on and on and on, makes him look like an attention whore. I don't believe him. Thou dost protest too much, Shelby. You do not come across as a believable, trustworthy person.

  34. The modern day athlete is so soft, I recall my life on the basketball court in the 80’s & 90’s, players talked trash to throw your game off. Revenge was all about dropping dimes and shutting them down on the defensive end. Shelby block him out. JJ’s is not worth it, the reality is this a number 3 receiver on most teams, don’t believe it he hype, 🎤 drop.

    I’m just saying, the 49ers have so many great players and coaches — future Hall of Famers, legends in the making. We want you to be part of building good memories with us, not bad ones. People pay more attention when you’re talking smack and being a super ahole with our opponents, but when you do it to us, it makes it feel like journalism is dead. For real.

The Browns will always be the sucky team in the AFC East no matter what kind of football personnel they bring in because the owner has been creating disfunctional shit in the ball club and will continue to do so until ownership changed.
