I have defended Fitz in the past but if he trades Bratt or Nico to Vancouver for Quinn, and Palat and Hamilton are still sitting on this team with Luke making 9 million because Jack and Quinn are his brothers I’ll be beyond pissed. He’s screwed up so many contracts and now let’s trade one or two players who have been here through it all for a “shake up” that probably won’t even work because of all the other glaring issues on the team. Sucks all the ugly that comes out when a team starts to lose. This is getting uglier than ‘23-24.

  4. I spent the postgame worrying about whether Fitz will have the foresight to add lotto protection to the picks that he’s inevitably going to be giving away soon.

    Not exactly where I’d hoped my thoughts would be in early December.

Lost in the Quinn news was that Fitz has been looking into ROR (not sure what the deal with him and Keefe is, if Fitz is looking into it I assume the narrative that theres bad blood between them is overblown) and Sherwood. I doubt our anchors would waive for VAN but players seem to like Nashville (the org worked with Huala to send him somewhere he likes and he was happy to land there) so maybe we can offload Palat there? Huffing the last hopium fumes here but it would be nice if Fitz being busy this week actually amounts to something.

  10. We have a horribly constructed roster.

    We have a superstar player who makes plays to win games by himself which hides the horribly constructed roster.

    When that superstar player is not playing we are legitimately one of the worst teams in the league.

    This is nothing new. Been the same story for years.

  11. This is turning into the Toronto Game of blame Mitch, Willie, John, or Matthews. Toronto blamed Mitch and he ended up leaving. Now the team is in the shitter. Perhaps Willie is the problem.

    The problem is the GM first of all. Fitz is the boss. Make boss moves. Like we all think Drury across the river is a douche canoe, but he freed up a lot of cap space. Now hopefully Fitz doesn’t sit on his hands like Drury and adds pieces.

    Most of our guys are divas. We don’t have a nutcase like Mack in Colorado, who will scream at you if you eat chocolate. We don’t have a vet presence like we once did in the 90s. That Stevens “Dad” presence.

    It seems like some of these guys are just collecting checks and going through the motions.

    We also don’t hear our Captain speaking up.

  12. Things went from bad to worse last night. Not being able to dominate (in underlying metrics) a bad Bruins roster is quite concerning.

    Devils are still -210 to make the playoffs. All hope is not lost. But gotta see those adjustments, Mr. Keefe.

  13. Let’s be honest. They dominated most of the Vegas game and a big chunk of the Boston game. Puck luck just not there. Now that can definitely break a team but they could also be one win away from putting the bad juju to bed.

  16. Will this group ever learn how to just simplify things when things aren’t going our way? Blind passes to the center of the ice in our own fucking zone passing up golden opportunities to shoot the fucking puck only to make the extra pass and have it picked off.  You need to play smart north south hockey when things aren’t going your way which is something we don’t do.  Also I don’t get the sense that this group absolutely hates losing more than they like winning.  Fitz wants to talk about the culture he built.  What exactly is that culture?  Looking at it from the outside it looks like a relaxed culture where everyone is melo and the “oh we will get them next time” attitude.  The players can say whatever they want but there actions speak louder than the words they spew into the mics after the game.

  20. Ownership and the GM refuse to address glaring issues with cap management and roster construction. Boycott games it’s the only recourse as fans since we don’t have the social media or big market coverage other teams do.

  24. This team is broken and I honestly don’t know what they can do to fix it. Jack isn’t going to fix these problems when he’s back

  25. Just watched Keefe’s post-game interview. The gist I got from him was we were the better team but they capitalized on a few mistakes. He said today is more indicative of how they WANT to play. I’m not an expert but I can’t imagine that THIS is acceptable. He said there is a bit of frustration mounting but that won’t help them and that frustration is a “useless” emotion that is based on the past. The next breath he said how there has been lots of positivity on the bench. This just doesn’t make sense and I’m starting to doubt him and the “plan”.

  26. Even if Jack and Pesce come back and we start winning games again, the underlying issues with the roster would still exist and get exposed in the playoffs anyway. I don’t know what the answer is for the record, but if nothing changes, then we are doomed.
