Messing around the nytimes playoff simulator and I found a couple of interesting playoff clinching scenarios for the Chargers.
The Chargers can actually still make the playoffs going 1-4 in either of the following scenarios:
Scenario A:
Chargers beat Broncos Week 18 (There is a possibility they rest starters)
AND Chiefs lose one of (Titans, Broncos, Raiders)
AND Miami lose one of (Steelers, Bengals, Buccaneers, Patriots)
AND Colts lose out (Seahawks, 49ers, Jaguars, Texans)
I feel like Miami losing a game and the Colts losing out are relatively likely since they both have tough schedules. The Chiefs v Broncos game is likely a toss up.
Scenario B:
Chargers beat Chiefs Week 15
AND Miami lose one of (Steelers, Bengals, Buccaneers, Patriots)
AND Colts lose out (Seahawks, 49ers, Jaguars, Texans)
Both of the above seem likely to play out assuming the Chargers can handle their business against the Chiefs next week!

If we go 1-4 we don’t deserve to make the playoffs and we will lose in the first round. It’s time for Harbaugh and Herbert to step up, defense is healthy and Hampton is back, I know our O line sucks but most teams in the NFL at this point have problems on their o line, Jags, Texans, Steelers and Ravens all have bad o lines
How many wins can secure us a spot regardless of how everyone else does? I dont think 2/5 wins does it but does 3/5 get us there?
A is banking on Broncos resting starters, but are we confident they will have a seed locked up? Jags could win over Broncos make the 2/3 seeds up for grabs. The Pats remaining schedule is Bills, Ravens, Jets, Dolphins (should lock #1) while Broncos have Packers, Jags. Chiefs, and Us. Jags are 2 games back with Jets, Broncos, Colts, Titans. There is a real chance Jags close the gap and make the Broncos try in week 18
For the We DoNt DeSeRvE iT if 1-4 crowd — this team has made the playoffs less than 10 times in the 30 years I have been following. Literally just shut up
Let’s just start with a W tonight talk
