[Padres] Welcome to San Diego, Daison! We have signed right-handed pitcher Daison Acosta to a one-year contract through the 2026 season.

  1. 12.5 K/9 with sub 3 era over 3 levels last year. Preller knows how to make a good bullpen (with less) and you don’t have to question it.

  2. More bullpen depth is never a bad thing

Edit: I assume this is a major league deal since the padres account posted it. Doesn’t seem like he’s ever been on a 40 man roster before now so presumably has all his options remaining.

  3. First Adcock now this guy. These players seem like they were created by a random player generator. WELCOME TO YOUR 2026 PADRES!!!

  4. With the timing of this signing and Adcock, sure seems like we are going to bank on converting a couple internal bullpen guys to starters.

  5. I’m following baseball for the first time this season, is this a good signing?

  6. This guy and Adcock major league deals? Trades or mass conversion of relievers to rotation is going down soon.

Milller, Estrada, Adam, Morejon, Morgan, Yuki, Wandy, Hart, Adcock, and Acosta. That’s 10 before you get to guys like Hoeing, Rodriguez and Marinaccio.

  7. I don’t wanna believe it but either we convert morgan or miller to starters and or one of our guys is getting traded. Unfortunately maybe Jerry or Wandy

  8. Looks like a prime candidate for Niebla to work his magic on! Welcome to San Diego, Daison. Here’s a California burrito and a pair of sunglasses.
