FIRST TAKE | Packers or Rams – Which team is best in NFC? – Dan Orlovsky & Damien Woody debate

Back on get up and we’re flying Sunday superlatives. Dwood Wood who had the best performance in the league yesterday is Josh Allen. Josh Allen once again was out there with his cape on doing the things that Josh Allen usually does out there. You know the the Cincinnati Bengals had complete control of that game. Once they got those turnovers, it seemed like Josh Allen just took it to a whole another level. He was spectacular in what was a thriller in the snow. Nique, who made the worst coaching decision yesterday? Yeah, I think it was the Browns and deciding while Shador was having a great game for a rookie, they get down and go for the two-point conversion. They take him all the way off the field and have Quinton Judkins making back body throws, torquing his body to throw back. It’s just ridiculous. This is I don’t know. You have a quarterback second time this year that that they took away a moment that Shador Sanders could have had. And I know that it probably isn’t premeditated, but it feels like it and the whole world feels like it. He played great yesterday, Dan. Shador played great. Yeah, he had some big time throws and I agree with you. Like at some point he marches you right down the field. Big game. I would s I want to see it. I would I would love to see you go make that play. There’s only one person in the world who didn’t want to see it and that was the coach who called this nonsense at the end of the game. D who made the best play in the NFL yesterday. Puka the second touchdown catch. Like like come on somebody here. He mo look at this man. Like this is absolutely nuts by Fuka Noola who seemed like all season long he’s been making all these insane catches but this is just a another one the long list of catch the oneanded team catch that was ridiculous. He’s spectacular and his performance helped the Rams reclaim the number one overall spot in the NFC for now. They’re tied with Seattle at 10 and three. They get them one more time on Thursday night. The Lions coming in on Sunday. We got Packers Bears still to come. It begs one simple question, Dan Olowski, right this minute. Who you picking in the NFC? Yeah, I’m picking I’m picking the Rams. I have picked the Rams all season long. I’m going to continue to pick the Rams. Their run game is efficient. It’s becoming explosive. I think they have the best quarterback wide receiver duo in the NFL right now. When you watch the Rams pass game, you talk about receivers and quarterbacks seeing it the same way and being on the same page. It’s ridiculous to watch. And I think their defense is young, aggressive, best front seven in football. I see you picked the Packers, Dwood. And as good as they looked yesterday and as strong and tough as they are with their closer Michael Parsons, still play at Denver Sunday. Yep. Still play at Chicago Saturday, December 20th. Wait, the Packers for Denver. Correct. That’s their next week. So I mean, if he’s going to be Mariano Rivera, he’s going to have to close out a couple of games against really good teams. We like the Rams over here. Seattle, we’re not buying the Seahawks. Yeah, we are. I am cautious on Seattle. I think the Seahawks are a little bit below these two teams. like they there’s one way that I feel like the Seahawks can win. These other teams have multiple ways they can win. The Seahawks to me is going to have to be dominant defense is the only way I see them winning. They can’t run the ball well enough and it’s a lot of pressure on Darno who hasn’t been playing well. Despite the fact they’re blowing people out, you watch those games closely. Darnold doesn’t look great. I totally agree. That yesterday Atlanta game was much closer than the score indicated. Can’t run the football. And Sam Darnold for about a month now, and I love Sam, has been doing things that get you in trouble as a quarterback that just for some reason aren’t getting him in trouble, but it will eventually in big games. Should the Eagles be mentioned in this conversation anymore, or we just are we No, I mean, I think the Eagles I think they fit in the same category as the Seahawks is that they they’re a team that’s good enough, but they’re not a favorite. Like, they have enough talent on defense and on offense, but yeah, their offense is just too consistent. They’re not playing up to the level that that that the Rams or the Packers are. We will see them tonight. In fact, let’s get ready for that game. The final game of the week is Eagles Chargers. And let’s play overunder, which is brought to you by DraftKings Sportsbook. Dominique, let’s look at some of these notes here. Jaylen Herz, his total for tonight. Passing plus rushing yards combined, 229 a half. We go over or under. Yeah, I got to go under on that right now. That offense hasn’t been good. I think Jaylen threw for 300 against the Vikings and that’s it. It’s hard for me to imagine, especially against this Chargers defense that I think is super opport opportunistic. It’s hard for me to imagine that he puts up more than that. Justin Herbert looks like he’s gonna play passing yards 211 and a half over or under. I got to go under for that also because I love this Eagles defense and Justin Herbert, we know the O line has been through a ton of injuries. Justin Herbert himself is dealing with a little bit of a sore hand. So, I think he goes under against this tough Eagles defense. Little bit of a sore hand. He had surgery last month. We’re going to talk suck them up, Dom players. Taquan Barkley rushing 69 and a half yards. Oh yeah, I I I’m just captain negativity today. I got to go under. Like they haven’t been able to run the ball all season long. I don’t know why it would change on this game. So yeah, I think we’re under on this game is going to be three. Under. If you believe this game is going to be low scoring and we’re not going to see big numbers, those picks are a parlay. We put them together on the DraftKings Sportsbook app. Look for the over or under featured parlay priced at plus495 odds. We’re going to pick the game as only we can. But Chepy the Herbert, he is going to play, right? I mean, that’s the belief. Again, I think there are people around the league who have questioned whether he’s going to play, but the Chargers keep saying he’s going to play. Just a little just a little surgery. Boie and I and I will be up for our life. Okay. I would have announced my retirement. Okay, here we go. Only one way. Protective eyewear in place. Chargers Herbert playing Eagles struggling. Dwood do the honors. [Music] It actually hit me. That came down late. Yeah, it actually hit me. It hit yourself. It Yeah, it was a cell phone because we’re back on track with a win in this game. I listen I I think the Eagles I just think that they’ll like they’re winners. Like I think they’ll they’ll come out of their funk. They’ll find a way to win, you know, on the road out in Los Angeles. Danny, you’re the only one with the Chargers. Uh, number one, this Chargers defense is good against stopping the run and presents coverage issues for what Jaylen Herz in this past game struggles with. And I think Vidal is going to run the ball well. Hampton supposedly back as well tonight, too. He will be. We will see it tonight. Again, the matchup made I don’t care who you root for and who you root against. This made your heart hurt. Daniel Jones, who’s out there playing on a broken leg trying to gut it out for his team, suffers a season ending Achilles tear in the first quarter. the frustration, you knew it immediately. You can see his reaction and this was just tough to watch. There’s so many different elements to this. By the way, the Jaguars won the game big and and they have first place in the division and good for them. They’re going to be a team to to watch out for. But Sheffy, the implications of the Daniel Jones injury overwhelming. They’re enormous. First of all, Daniel Jones is out for the year. He is scheduled to be a free agent after this year. His contract is up. So now I would think Indianapolis is absolutely going to want him back and he will want to be back. But is Indianapolis going to give him the multi-year contract that it would have before? That’s something that they’re going to have to discuss. The playoff implications of the Colts with all due respect to Riley Leonard who now takes over as the starting quarterback. We they’re not going to make the playoffs now with Riley Leonard. So the AFC playoff picture just got shaken up. The Colts also traded two first round draft picks to the Jets for Sauce Gardner because they thought Daniel Jones gave them a window to win in which he’s now out for 9 10 months. It’s a brutal injury for the quarterback. It’s a brutal injury for the franchise. It changes their season and it’s really unfortunate for everybody involved. It’s a$und00 million injury. Yeah. And I think a lot of people were rooting for Daniel Jones because, you know, like rooting for him. So that’s tough. I’m not going to count out Indie. I actually liked what I saw from Riley Leonard yesterday. I thought he made some really nice plays, but the Sauce Gardner injury, the DeForest Buckner injury, and now the Daniel Jones injury, kind of three of their best players. That’s a tall mountain. Anthony Richardson is not even in the injured reserve. I mean, but they I don’t know if that’s something in their future or not or whatever it is, it’s a mess in in Indianapolis. Yeah. I mean, you get into a situation where you have like the moral hazard of people whose jobs are on the line. They make the trades to make a run now and this team is in a tough situation. And it sucks for Daniel Jones because it’s easy to assume that part of the reason why his Achilles got hurt was because he was playing through an injury on the opposite leg. And you know, as football players, you always want to be out there, be out there for your team. But in a situation like that, I’m sure he wishes that he was still healthy right now and would have set out for the games it took to get healthy. Dean Wood. No, I just uh again, just to echo everyone, I just feel bad for Daniel Jones because I had a similar thing happen to me. I had surgery on my knee. very next game, go out there and tear my Achilles. And so, same leg. Uh, no, opposite leg. Opposite leg. Opposite leg. It’s the compensation. Markith said it to me a million times all the years that I worked with him. The human body is the perfect compensation machine. If one thing is wrong, whether you mean to or not, somewhere else it’s compensating for it. I’m not a doctor. We don’t know medically that’s the reason that it happened. But one way or another, Daniel Jones, it was tough to watch

  1. As a packers fan, please. For the love of all that is holy, please donโ€™t let us play the 49ers in the playoffs. Iโ€™m already having nightmares just thinking about it

  2. The Seahawks love to be overlooked. Keep that energy. Just because a score was close at a certain point in a game does not mean crap. What was the final score? I watched Brisket go right down the field on the Rams in the 1st quarter. Who cares. Also, Seattle leads the league in point differential and they can't make top 3? They literally doubled the Packers in point diff. Rams and Seahawks are the two most complete teams in the NFL right now.

  3. The disrespect they gave Seattle around the 3:00 Mark should be a crime.. The Seahawks had 4 – 30+ points "HALFS" this season.. the rest of the league 6.. Since the Rams game The Hawks had one TO which was a deflected ball turned int.. Sam looked great against the falcons in the 2 half by stepping up in the pocket and making plays outside the pocket.. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜

  4. So crazy if Darnold throws a pick or takes a sack is is trash. But if any other qb on a good team makes a mistake it isnโ€™t even mentioned. Rams canโ€™t replicate what they did in their house. And it came down to a fg. Last laugh is comingโ€ฆ

  5. RAMS fan here…Seahawks are better than the Packers…not even close…I.jate to even admit it but the Seahawks are the only team that threatens the RAMS….

  6. Seattle has more rushing yards than GB, and 80 less than LA. They have more 20+ yard runs than both. They also have the 2nd most points in the NFL, and their defense is the 2nd best in scoring. Darnold has some turnover issues, but it's been inflated by a 4 pick game. They have 3 losses by a total of 9 points.

  7. Itโ€™s the east coast espn they donโ€™t even watch Seahawks games just sayin every time Seahawks had a loss they won 3 or4 in a row look at their schedule
