Got to work an event last night that was for the ‘06 team and current team. The Stanley Cup was there. I greeted everyone as they came in, and thanked them for coming on their way out. I’ve never worked an event where the people were more respectful to a staff, had many players both from ‘06 and current shake my hand and thanking us for what we did. It was really refreshing to see professional athletes who were that courteous to staff.
On a side note the Keeper of the Cup Mario was awesome to talk to with great stories of his interactions with players. He made the save of the day when the cup was almost knocked off the table last night!

  1. I’m extremely happy for you however as a STM I was a bit disgusted by the way this whole 20th anniversary was handled. If we had Sunday’s game in our plan & wanted to take a picture with the cup, we had to buck up an extra $400 pp to attend a special party before the game. Yet, if we had Tuesday’s game in our plan, then the cup is there for photos essentially at your convenience.

I cry bullshit here. Both the red & black ticket plan holders should both have gotten equal access to the cup. Isn’t this one of the reasons we got season tickets in the first place.

As a first year season ticket holder after 20 years of not having season tickets personally, I have been extremely underwealmed by my experience thus far

  2. I fully agree with your statement. I’m a long time 1/2 season STMer & couldn’t get there yesterday until the actual game. Was disappointed that more wasn’t done yesterday @ the actual game besides slides & videos on the Jumbotron concerning the ‘06 champs.
