    He’s just chillin after a game, happy with a jersey. Yeah he needs to play better, I doubt he would deny he needs to play better, but we don’t need to be weird about players just because they aren’t playing that well. Let them live their lives.

  5. Cam is not angel but people really aren’t giving him grace in this situation.

    He was effectively excommunicated from a contending line-up because they simply couldn’t afford him the minutes or the touches to develop his game. And it wasn’t just a Whitmore issue, it even had implications on Reed Sheppard — who really only got his shot and opportunity because of an injury to FVV.

    He gets traded to Washington and is pitched/presented as someone who can get an opportunity to grow his game. He effectively gets a king’s welcome, returning to his hometown consistently touted in interviews. You would think this would mean that he might even be in consideration for the starting line-up.

    Quickly, it is realized that that isn’t the case. He’s not getting any repetitions with the first team really in the rotation despite being a consistent figure off the bench. He’s putting effort on the floor — even if not necessarily a “team” mindset being the forethought. He has some clear/questionable moments where he argues a little too long before getting back on defense, gets the questionable technical foul. But it really wasn’t anything that couldn’t be remediated.

    It is pretty fair of Washington to want a certain type of player/figure on the floor. But putting the scarlet letter on Cam’s chest is a little weird for a tanking team.

  7. Ship him off to a team that recognizes talent so he can flourish. Just like quite a few other former Wizards.
