Avalanche have ‘a lot to prove’ after playoff disappointment, Sakic says | NHL.com

I might be in the minority when it comes to this. But if we don’t at least make the SCF, then Bednar needs to go. I say that not because I dislike him. But because the team will need some sort of change especially if they are out at round 1 or 2.
I personally thought he should of been gone after the dallas series last year. 0 excuses why we lost that series. Especially since they were down 2 of there top 3 players.
Remember the playoff slogan last year was “Built different.” I think this year it should just be “Fuck Dallas.”
I mean yeah, I was fucking pissed, I’d imagine the team is 10000x more pissed than I was. 2 years in a row by fucking Dallas only to get stomped in the WCF each time is disappointing, Rantanen or not.
As far as I’m concerned we have 2 goals this season. 1. Beat the brakes off Dallas should we see them in the post season. 2. Win the cup.
Every other milestone along the way is trivial, and this really does feel like 22 all over again.
Dallas is going to be in our business for as long as this teams cup window is open so these losses really are heartbreakers to a dirty fucking Jamie Benn lead team.
The playoff seeding is certainly dog shit, but I will admit their goal of fabricating rivalries worked and each year I get older I dislike the wings a bit less, and hate Dallas a lot more.
Really it’s the same thing they’ve had to prove for years now: that they can win when teams clog up the neutral zone and force them to dump and chase.
