MacKinnon’s MSG Masterclass, Bedard’s Vegas Show & Barzal’s Edges | NHL Week 9 Best Goals
Week 9 had it all — elite skill, power plays, creative finishes, and superstar moments across the League.
Brady Tkachuk returned from injury with a no-look backhand setup to Artem Zub, Connor Bedard put on a show in Las Vegas with a shifty move and bar-down finish, and Washington delivered a double feature in San Jose with Aleksi Protas’ unsuspecting drop pass to Brandon Duhaime followed by Ryan Leonard’s dash of footwork, power, and a sharp backhand finish.
Matthew Knies fought through a fall and contact with Sebastian Aho to score on the backhand, Evgeni Malkin produced a vintage shake-and-bake goal, and Mathew Barzal dazzled Colorado with elite edgework.
Nathan MacKinnon stole the spotlight at MSG with a mid-air bat-in and a stickhandling-driven overtime winner, while Calum Ritchie and Matthew Wood each pulled off skillful through-the-legs goals.
Montreal rookie Lane Hutson showed his hands with a tight-area deke on Jordan Binnington, and Vegas executed a beautiful set play off a face-off finished by Jack Eichel for the game winner.
