Blues give MASSIVE update… This has SERIOUS implications
This is extremely good news for the St. Louis Blues as we get a major update on Jordan Kyu from head coach Jim Montgomery. And you’re going to want to stay tuned for that because that’s a huge update. But not only that, multiple roster moves and a signing we’re going to get to all in this episode of Blues Digest. But before we dive into all of that, Mark, because we got a lot to get to today. It’s a jam-packed episode. Be sure to hit that subscribe button. We’ve noticed that a pretty large percentage of you who watch these videos are not subscribed to the channel. So, if you want to stay up to date with everything that’s going on with your St. Louis Blues, go down below, hit that free subscribe button. And of course, before we get into it, big shout out to almost 5,000 of you who are subscribed to the channel. Your support has been unbelievable this season in a season that hasn’t been going that good. But Pi, let’s get right into it. Lots to get into. And we’ll start with Jordan Bennington. And obviously he we know he’s a big personality around the city and the team as well. And he has just won yet another award. He’s breaking records and he’s won another award. And I think that’s a big thing. Listen, everyone in St. Louis loves Bennington. Even Oilers fans, they want this guy. I love to see these guys get awards like this. I mean, the 56th anniversary of the Jack Burn Awards. This is awesome to see. But I do think there’s even more we need to touch on. This is awesome to see. But we do get a big update on Jordan Cyro and I think we need to dive straight into that list and shout out Jordan Bennington. But we do get an update. We know that he was going to get MRI results. We got the results back and we see that Jim Montgomery says to himself, “We’re happy with the results of the MRI considering the situation going into the full quote. It was at least a week. We’re labeling week to week right now. And listen, we don’t like to see more than dayto day, but at the end of it, he was helped off the ice series. What is your thoughts on seeing that it was a big miss on a significant injury that now we know that he’s going to be back in the coming weeks? Yeah, he was helped off the ice and everything we heard in the meantime because obviously they said they had to get back to St. Louis, do some imaging and then they would have a definitive update for us. Everything that we heard and some of the speculation was that it could be an injury that would keep him out like months at this point, which we’ve seen a lot of players in this lineup already out for months and we’ll get to the total injury list in a set right here as you can see right like obviously Krug is an obvious one. We knew that, but Snagaru Torpchenko is still out, which I we have no update on that. I assumed he was going to be back in two weeks, something like that. But Walker’s out for an extended period of time, couple months as well. And now obviously Kyu week to week. So this is better news. Of course, you want him back in the lineup next game, but this is better news than what was originally uh suspected. I guess it seemed like they were, you know, thinking the worst, I think, at one point, and that it could be a monthtomonth and an injury like that, but not the case. They got the imaging done and it’s nothing significant. So, he’ll be back skating soon and he should be back in about They said he’s going to miss at least this week and then he might be back at some point next week. So, to me, I think that’s much more encouraging obviously than missing one of your best scorers, not just goal scorers, but total points getters this year uh for an extended period of time. And that’s the big thing. He was second on the team before going down with the injury. He’s going to drop a tiny bit with him being out, but Jordan Kyro adds a lot to the team. We flashed the lineup a second ago. Looking at this, Matt Lo does get into the lineup, but you’re losing a lot of top end talent. Joseph, who has been really good this year, maybe isn’t a top six forward when you’re looking to get consistent wins. And I’m not trying to harp because he has been good. But Darius, this is the team that needs to get consistency going with the injuries. Like you said, we know Krug is going to be out for significant time. He’ll probably never come back to the NHL, which sucks to say, but looking at this, you’re losing Snugroo a big piece for this team, a big piece for the top six. two guys that completely reshaped this fourth line this season where we’ve seen Jim Montgomery himself say that this is an energy line. They set the tone every game which you love to see, but you would also rather your top six do this. But what is your thoughts on missing Kyu out of this lineup? Do you think this is for someone to step up and take a bigger role? Maybe you look at this as a blessing in disguise and I don’t want to say because of an injury, but someone steps up in that top six that maybe wouldn’t get the opportunity and shows out. or do you think this is going to be the start of maybe a struggle for the Blues to get consistent scoring? Honestly, what I think is going to happen is that they do struggle a little bit without Jordan Kyrie, at least in terms of point production. But in terms of an opportunity, you can look up and down the lineup and maybe you’re going Matt Luff, that’s an interesting one. But to me, he’s already, you know, nearing 30 years old. We kind of know what he is at this point. And he could be a good fourthliner in absence of a lot of these guys. Casamaki, same thing. Like I guess he’s just in the lineup, right? Like they need bodies obviously in the lineup. But I look up and down and I’m like, who could, you know, make use of this opportunity? Dylan Holloway has not had the season that I thought he was going to have so far this year. So, he’s a guy that of course has been getting minutes. But in absence of Kyu, I wonder if Jim Montgomery is going to him and saying, “We need you to be a lot better. You need to start scoring. You need to just straight up scoring. We need the puck off of your stick and in the back of the net.” Uh, but putting up points as well. So, I think this is a big opportunity for Holloway to put his stamp on this season because he just hasn’t been as good as I thought he was going to be. Honestly, it looks like he’s almost taken a step back in some regards. So, uh hopefully he can get going as well. And I don’t think it really affects the defense. Although there are, you know, some injuries that have affected them throughout the season, but to me, it’s like the dynamic of the forward group. I think Holloway has to step up here because you’re missing a guy like Snugru who we know can score at a minute’s notice with that shot that he has and Kyru who is, you know, always top three in scoring on this team, right? So, uh he’s out for a little bit. What can Holloway, a guy like Holloway, do in his absence? because honestly to me I think Thomas has been pretty good this year. He’s missed some time due to injury as well but he’s been pretty good but guys like Shen, guys like Holloway, what can you do in their absence? So um that’s who I’m looking at right now because again I don’t look towards other guys who are filling in for these injuries on the fourth line to step up. They can that would be great but I think it’s the uh the top guys the heavy hitters they got to get going. And I think the big thing is just listen, we’ve seen the consistent wins over the past weekend against two good teams from Canada and Ottawa Centers, Montreal Canadiens, but this is a team that needs to step up. Now, Matt Luff did get player of the month for Springfield. So maybe he comes in and completely turns heads and scores a hat-tick against the Bruins. That would be awesome to see. But speaking on that, we also get another player called up in Hugh McInn coming from Springfield. And I don’t think Hugh gets into this lineup. This, in my opinion, is more of a hey, we want to have more bodies in this lineup. We want to be able to rotate and have an extra forward just in case you continue to add on the copious injuries that we do see on the team because there’s not a lot of injuries to the back end, which is really good because we know that’s been struggling. But with all the forwards, you need to continue calling players up. I would have liked to see maybe Otto Stenberg come up. But listen, if you want him to continue developing, you get McInn up that has shown chances in the NHL. Six total games played. He will probably get into a game at some point. But Darius, what is your overall thought on this team? Do you think there is a point where you’re looking at Matt Lo called up? We do see McM we see multiple others. Do you think Otto Steenberg should have been called up or do you rather him sit in the AHL and just kind of develop his game a little more? Yeah, that that’s the second one, right? The reason he hasn’t been called up is because he wanted to continue playing, not stress about being yo-yoed in the press box and the and the lineup were not being played at all, right? So, I think you want him playing with Springfield. And yes, they’re not that great of a team this year. We all know that, but I think you just want them in games and not stressing about other stuff and logistics and stuff like that. just continue your development, try to get some confidence in your game right at that level and not have to be yo-yoed back and forth. So to me, that’s why he hasn’t been called up. Uh and they’re making some other call-ups like a Matt Love for example. So uh again, like you mentioned, I don’t know if he even gets into a game. Maybe he gets into one game. He has six games of NHL experience, but I think to me it’s just having another body so they can rotate um you know, in practice. And not only that, they have they’re this is a busy month, right? So I imagine he does get into a game here because they need extra bodies. But to me, I you don’t call up a Stenberg yet. It could get to that point, but yet because you don’t want him stressing out about other stuff where he should just be playing and focusing on his game. And I think that’s the big thing. And listen, we’re going to get into a signing. We’re not going to touch on it for too long. But we do see coming from Frank Curve, this full tweet will be on social media if you want to go look at it. But we do see that Dylan Dwis plans to sign an AHL agreement with the Springfield affiliate of the St. Louis Blues. Of course, going into DWA, we’ve seen him play sometime in the KHL. He played with the Ottawa Centers. What is your thoughts with this guy, Darius? Cuz I’m not going to touch on it. This is, like I said, a strictly hockey podcast, but what is your thoughts on the signing? Yeah, I mean, we all know, right, at this point, but uh it looks like he will be signing and he will be playing in Springfield. I have to say, and I don’t want to spend too much time on it because it has happened. It looks like he is headed to Springfield. Uh I I get the Logan Mayu move, right? And I I don’t understand the Milan Luchich one, and I don’t understand this one, but uh the Blues have made the signing. He will be in Springfield, and we’ll see how that plays out. But uh yeah, that’s it for that update basically. Yeah. And just what’s your guys’ thoughts on the roster moves? Everyone called up to the NHL. What is your thoughts on this team going forward without Jordan Kyro because the lack of scoring might start to start showing when we see Kyro out with this. Let us know all your thoughts down in the comments. But speaking of comments, let’s go straight into comments today. Our net miners need to be playing anything I can do, I can do better. These guys are playing perfect as a tandem. This is the big thing. It’s a condensed schedule and we talk about it a lot, dear. These are two goalenders that could be starting goalenders when they’re on, of course. So maybe we see both of them that get on. You can run back to backs, whatever it takes. But this is a team that has the roster to compete. What you guys thoughts on the Blues season. Let us know down in the comments. You could be featured on comments of the day. While you’re down there, leave like, subscribe, share this with your friends. We back another episode. So keep your eye for that. But I’ve been your host Mark with my co-host series and take care blue fans.

Great job, gentlemen LGB
Keep Kyrou on the bench…seems like the Blues played so much better while he was out for a couple games!
Hey gents. I think this is the perfect time for new faces to step up and claim new ground in their respective careers. Luff, Kaskimaki… This is their chance and it could be just what the roster needs at the moment. Anyways, love the show! Go Blues.
How do you not get the Dube move. He's a great player. Makes me feel better about getting rid of Bolduc having a guy like Dube around.
He's a top 6 forward and can play everywhere.
they got rid of strickland??? or ott ? i was hoping for some good news
i'm already thinking of drafting in the top 5 next year but I'm OK with that. I think our future looks much better than our present.
Is it good news? They've won 2 games without him. I like Kyrou and I'd never want a player to be injured, but if they keep winning without him, just play the players who keep winning.
And Hofer should be the starter.
Hofer pushing Binner? A good thing..always. Walker out means more than a Non scoring Kyrou. If 25 isn't lighting the lamp then 26 who bring a consistent hard game every night is more valuable in my eyes. JK needs to score..simple..that's why he's get the big$$.
I was hoping he'd need surgery and be out for the season. Or better yet, out like Krug.
😂 tomorrows title “Shocking explosive update”
