But before we go any further with today’s episode of Geek on the Mic, I just want to give you guys one quick update, just some a little bit about my personal life and what’s kind of going on. I do want to apologize first and foremost to uh the loyal Kick on the mic listeners uh for me not really posting a lot of content as consistently as I usually do. I want to thank you guys so much for all the love and support that you guys continue to show the channel. Um, but as you guys know, I am a family man first. I’m super excited for this next chapter in my life. Um, as I will be welcoming my second kid here into the world. Um, and also I do want to let you guys know that I will not be going live this weekend uh for the Bears versus Browns matchup. Um, so, um, I’m I apologize once again for any inconvenience for anyone that likes to tune in to my streams. Once again, love and appreciate and and know definitely appreciate all the energy that you guys continue to bring to my streams every single weekend. Uh, but once again, uh, family does come first and I hope you guys can understand. But thank you so much for the support you guys continue to show me right here on the podcast. So Bears fans, moving forward now with today’s episode of Geek on the Mic. There’s a couple of different things that I wanted to discuss with you guys. Uh first and foremost, let’s go ahead and look at the current playoff picture for the Chicago Bears and how it can can change once again um within the week. As we all know, going into week 14, the Chicago Bears had the number one seed in the NFC playoff pitcher. They were first place in the NFC North. Um but due to them losing to the Green Bay Packers in week 14, they dropped all the way from one to seven. And as it stands right now, the Rams have the one seed. Um as it looks right now, the Bears, the seven seed, would travel to two seed Green Bay. Uh Niners are six, Eagles are third. Uh and the Seahawks are five, and the Bucks are four. And there is still major playoff implications. Uh this is going to be a very fluent NFC playoff pitcher. It’s a very competitive uh from 1 through 7. It can change week in and week out, but the big games to follow this weekend, if you are a Chicago Bears fan, it’s obviously Browns at Bears, Packers at Broncos, and Lions at Rams. And I feel like this is a very good situation for the Chicago Bears to be in because the Chicago Bears can just handle their business at home against the Cleveland Browns. And once again, you can’t overlook Cleveland because they have one of the best defenses in the National Football League by Miles Garrett. I think they’re going to give, you know, a true challenge to this Bears offensive line and Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson. So, hand your business against Cleveland. Let’s say Denver goes out there and beats the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears win. The Chicago Bears would then retain first place in the NFC North. And then they would then have a halfame lead up on the Green Bay Packers with another huge matchup at Soldier Field the following Saturday, December 20th, for a prime time matchup, which would definitely be for the division. If you want to go even further, if you look at the Lions at Rams game, let’s say the Bears beat the Browns, let’s say the Broncos beat the Green Bay Packers, and let’s say the Lions happen to beat the Rams, then the Chicago Bears would probably be looking at once again being not only first place in NFC North, but they would be first place in the NFC playoff pitcher once again going into that week 16 matchup um at home against the Green Bay Packers. So once again, a very fluent NFC playoff pitcher that can change week in and week out. Um, personally, we want the Bears to beat the Browns. We want the Broncos to beat the Packers. But personally, I’m not all set on the Chicago Bears getting the one seed. It’s totally fine if the Rams beat the Lions. And and I know that people like, “Well, Keith, why don’t you want the number one seed?” I’d rather see the Detroit Lions out of the playoff pitch. I rather have two games up on them on the division cuz I personally don’t want to be in a situation where let’s say we are the seven seed and that week 18 matchup at Soldierfield against Detroit becomes a win and you’re in situation against the Lions. That would make me nervous as hell. So, personally, as a Bears fan, and I know some of you guys may not like this thinking, I actually am going for the Los Angeles Rams to beat the Detroit Lions, even though the Bears could have the possibility once again being the one seed in the NFC. But all in all, the Bears can at least be back in first place NFC North and at least the number two seed in the NFC playoff pitcher as soon as the end of this weekend. So, obviously some big NFC matchups this weekend for the Bears uh and the Packers and also the Lions Rams going to be absolutely a massive game in terms of playoff implications in the NFC. So, let me know your thoughts and comments down below in the comment section. So, Bears fans, the the main gist of on why I wanted to bring this point up to you guys because it comes to my attention that the Chicago Bears have a really serious problem on their hands. And maybe I am just sitting here overthinking this and this is why I wanted to bring this to you guys’ attention. Um, just to get your viewpoint on it. Um, but let’s go ahead and talk about the concerns around wide receiver DJ Moore. Obviously, when you look at last game against the Green Bay Packers, um, he had the opportunity with Rome Adun out um, to kind of like reclaim that wide receiver one role. Um, when Roma Dun is in, it seems that that is really Caleb Williams guy. That that is that is his go-to guy. Um, you know, obviously, uh, when you look at Roma Dunay’s targets compared to DJ Moore. Um, it’s obviously in favor of Roma Dunay. The stats for Roma Dunes are better than DJ Moore’s, it seems that, you know, DJ Moore is now sitting in the wide receiver 2 role. But with Roma Dunay out, DJ Moore had the opportunity to kind of say, hey, no, I am still wide receiver one. Um, and he did not do that. He only had one catch for negative four yards. Obviously, there was some controversy on that last fourth to one play that DJ Moore um was wide open, but that wasn’t really the case when you look really looking at the context context of things. Um by time Caleb Williams threw the football to Cole KT, that’s when DJ Moore came open on that big fourth to one play that led to an interception and led to us losing uh to the Green Bay Packers. But yeah, DJ Moore, one catch for negative4 yards. And now there’s some concerns amongst Bears fans that what is going on with DJ Moore. When you look at the stats from year to year, just last year with Caleb Williams 2024, 98 catches on 140 targets, 966 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns. When you fast forward 13 games in, only has 39 receptions on 66 targets, 498 receiving yards, and only three receiving touchdowns. Obviously, that is a major dip. And when you look at the last five games for DJ Moore, this is what really kind of concerns me. Against the Giants, no catches, no yards. Against the Vikings, one catch, 18 yards. Had a good game against the Steelers. And then against Philly and Green Bay, two catches for 17 yards and one catch for negative four yards. And yes, you could say, hey, you know, maybe it’s not a good fit with Caleb Williams. Maybe it’s not a good fit with Ben Johnson. When you’re really looking at Caleb Williams, though, I just clearly show you the stats that last year him and Caleb Williams has some consistency. He had 98 catches, 966 receiving yards, six receiving touchdowns. So, we can’t really say that he doesn’t have a connection with Caleb Williams. Now, you look in the fit of Ben Johnson’s offense. Should we give DJ Moore the benefit of the doubt because it’s year one in a brand new system? That’s what I’m kind of leaning towards. And the reason why I’m trying to give DJ Moore the benefit of the doubt is because when you look at how Ben Johnson is trying to use DJ Moore, he is trying to use him just like he used Omar St. Brown with the Detroit Lions. And during the time that Ben Johnson was the OC of the Lions from 22 to 24, look at Omar St. Brown stats. 106 receptions over 1,000 yards. 2023 119 catches over 1,000 yards. in 2024 over a 100 catches over a thousand yards, right? And you look at 23 and 24, he had 10 receiving touchdowns and 12 receiving touchdowns. So maybe we should give it a little bit more time. But here is my concern with the production of DJ Moore as this season with Ben Johnson because a lot of people thought even with the new system that DJ Moore has been the league for a while. He’s been putting up pretty consistent stats in other years with not so good quarterbacks and not so good coordinators. Now, for the first time in his career, to me, he has a very good quarterback in Caleb Williams, sending quarterback in Caleb Williams. You have one of the best offensive coaches in the National Football League in Ben Johnson. And the production is still not there. And let’s remind ourselves that DJ Moore is getting paid wide receiver one money for wide receiver 3 production. When you look at what the Chicago Bears just paid him, he just signed a four-year $110 million contract extension um that, you know, will have him be a Bear through the 2029 season. It’s $82.6 million guaranteed. There’s a $25 million cap hit this year and then for the next two years, the cap hit for DJ Moore will be 28.5 million. So, let’s say hypothetically it doesn’t go well. Let’s say Luther Burton, Coulson Lovelin continue their ascension. Let’s say they go into the offseason. Brian Poll’s like, “You know what? Maybe DJ Moore just does not fit the scheme here in Chicago with Ben Johnson. We’re going to go ahead and trade him.” If they do decide to trade him a postjune first trade, the Chicago Bears would have $6 million in debt cap and they can free up $20 million in cap space. So, when you do the simple math, they’ll probably be around 13 to 14 million freed up in cap space. But on the same token, you look at what Amar St. Brown did with with Ben Johnson in Detroit and how Ben Johnson is trying to use DJ Moore here in Chicago just like Amar St. Brown like and you sit here and say maybe we should just give it a little bit more time. They tied in a lot of money to DJ Moore. Let’s not give up on him too soon. And then you have other Bears fans after the fourth to one play where DJ Moore probably felt like he was open. Obviously when you look at more contacts he was not. You look at his his body uh you know placement. you look at how he’s rolling his eyes, it just seems at times that maybe he’s not as good of a teammate as we want him to be. But also that could be a little bit far-fetched as well. So when you when you look at DJ Moore stats, when you look at how he’s fitting in the offense, it can go either way. Should we trade DJ Moore? Should we give him more time? Ben Johnson at this point was even shocked with the lack of production in the Green Bay game for DJ Moore. He said, “I thought he ran some pretty good routes over the course of the day and we just couldn’t give him the ball.” Johnson said, which that was not the intent. I thought going into the game, we might have had more for him and uh than any other player in the offense. Here is where the tricky situation is for the Bears. You just paid DJ Moore. You’re wrapped up so much money in DJ Moore to be basically the wide receiver one even though you have Roma Dunes. And right now, the production is just not there. Not only that, you’re seeing the ascend ascending players like Luther Burden when he gets the opportunities, he is showing up. He had four catches for 67 yards against Green Bay. You’re seeing what Coulson Lovelin is doing. He had a receiving touchdown against Green Bay. And obviously Caleb Williams loves going to both of those guys. And it seems like he has built more of a rapport with Burden and Lelin compared to DJ Moore this season. But when you look in the past, once again, DJ Moore last season with not so good of a play caller had 98 catches. I am not understanding what is going on with DJ Moore. Let me know what you guys think down below in the comment section. Do you think it’s time to move on from DJ Moore in the offseason or you think we should give him a little bit more time? As a Bears fan, I love DJ Moore. I think I’m leaning towards giving him a little bit more time just because of how Ben Johnson has been able to use him. But but for the amount of money that we are paying him, I would definitely love to see more production from more, not only for the remainder of the season, but moving forward for the Chicago Bears. Are you concerned about DJ Moore?
CONGRATS, hope everything goes well.
Congratulations bro #BEARTHEFDOWN!
Congrats Quinley extending ohana.
I Don'nT understand why they don't use d j moore , they should be using him.nA lot more
I think we need to trade him I don’t think we are using him correctly
Congratulations early to you and the wife
Trade DJ to the Bills for Keon Coleman and some draft picks. Hear me out. Coleman thrives on 50/50 ball where BJ can draw up concepts for him. Burden can replace DJ. DJ salary will be gone plus some additional picks to be used on the D line DJ has a 4 yrs 110 million contract he signed last year. He already been paid 43 million and gurateed about 82 million. Trading him can get 40 plus milion off the books
Congrats on the child on the way KOTM
Congrats and Good luck with your wife and the pregnancy 👍
Congrats G! 🎉🎉🎉
Luther is better than the overpaid DJ…Fact ! Eat some dough and send the pouting DJ packin in offseason !! Congrats Bro !!

Congrats big guy. You done good.
Congratulations on about having another baby!!! Never apologize for putting your family first your true fans will understand!
SEATTLE WOULD HAVE THE 1 SEED
I'm not entirely sure what the issue is with DJ? My one of many question i could ask, but my main question is this. Is he getting constantly doubled team? Just don't understand how you have all the weapons that Chicago has, but seems as though we don't. It's frustrating to say the least.
Anyone blaming DJ for not getting balls thrown to him is a clown.
Congrats on the baby! Wishing your wife a healthy delivery ❤
No ai want to keep him. He is a stud.. he is this frustrated cuz he's not getting the ball.
Ben Johnsons fault DJ is not getting the ball
DJ has a contract that is loaded with per game incentives. He wants to touch the ball.
Baby family 1st
Congratulations. Do y’all have a name pick out?
CONGRATULATIONS KIEQ I hope you're wife has a smooth delivery
I want an elite edge rusher. I dont think you can keep his salary and do that
The Bears can win out
🎉congratulations! I don’t think it’s time to panic about DJ right now. This is just an offense trying to figure it out. Not really fair to jump to conclusions about his expressions and attitude immediately after a loss. It could have easily been just disappointment and not frustration with Caleb.
So if u look at what he did last year in Shane Waldron offense and u look at Ben's offense then I would say it's the system for him thats why because last year he had monster stats now he in a new offense and he looks lost
I completely understand, you should never apologize for being a family man first. Good luck. 🐻⬇️
Game on the line and your so-called No.1 receiver is hanging out behind the line of scrimmage. Then decides to run after the ball is thrown now thats what's clownish
Congrats bro.
