NHL Highlights | Lightning vs. Canadiens – December 9, 2025
Good evening everybody. Dave Brand with you alongside Brian Anglom and the opening faceoff is sponsored by Rooms to Go. We are underway for the first of four regular season meetings. We’ve seen a lot of tight games from the Lightning lately. I think this is going to be one of those bat out of hell games. I do. I think the Montreal Canadians are ready to play a game like that. Knock down. Slapsky with it. Gets it across. There’s a shot from Suzuki. Save by Johansson and the rebound is cleared away. Then redirected in on Johansson went off a leg as Radish is trying to get back into the play there. Scramble in front. Suzuki bouncing puck and it rolls to the near board where it’s finally picked up by Cooerov. Too much of trying to whack at the puck and not enough taking guys out in front of the net. There’s already been a couple of big hits along the wall. This game has got some anxiety in it, but the lightning got to be tougher in front of their net. Here comes Montreal again. And there’s a good hard sharp angled shot. Drool on his back. Hands dumps it back down low in back of the net. That’s Oliver Kain. Gets it to Timmy Dog. Ivan and Dimov into Captain. Little back door play. And Johansson was not fooled there. That’s a good save. This line has really been creating since they were put together. Kappa and Deminov and the recently added textier. Here’s Braden. Po. Point is in. scores. Braden Point with an early goal for the Lightning. And there goes the shut out streak. Braden Point with his fourth goal of the season. We’ve lost Brian’s mic. We’ll rectify that momentarily. But there’s a look at the goal by Braden Point. And what a moment for him. Broken stick out of the ice there. Mat without one right now. A defenseman inside his own zone without a stick. Saved by Dolish on that long shot. Trell power play. Fourth best in the NHL. And Brian, they are scorching hot. seven for their last 16 almost 44% over the last seven games and you can tell the way they moved in the offensive Suzuki trying to center it cannot out in front backhander goes wide into the corner picked up by Divid and that one gets away from here’s homeberg out of the box homeberg in scores poses Holberg steps into the box and buries one to make it two nothing Tampa Bay Lightning red hot all of a sudden. Not like you don’t know when a two-minute penalty is over. It’s over in two minutes, folks. So, you have to know that that guy is coming out of the box. Yeah, it’s a mishandle at the blue line, but still you have to have one foot going backwards and somebody’s got to be aware that somebody’s coming out of the box. And the lightning and now it’s picked off by Coutur. Good ring wide pass. Here’s Hegel into the middle. Shot as Edmond stepped up. gets it back to Coutro. His drive that’s knocked down. Here’s Dw in. Shot saved. Rebound batted away by Montreal. Great pressure. He is a defenseman and nobody goes to him right away cuz neither guy knows which one. Here’s Gergensson with a shot. Doish the same rebound. Oh no, it goes off the post. Gurgensson’s again. He had a wide open net for to lose track of Hudson. Watch this. Goalender is down and out. It’s an empty net. Yeah, you’re on your backhand and yes, you got to do it quickly. Homer has the whole 4×6 and he puts it off the post. If he tried to hit the post on his backand, he he wouldn’t have done it. 14 seasons now here in Montreal. Texier in, shoots, saved by Johansson on a good release by Alex Texier. Celli dishes off as two. Back to Anthony Celli takes the shot. Do the save. Rebound is right there. Another bane away and it comes back for Croer. Penalty call coming up. Scores. The puck came free for Cooerov and he buries it to make it three nothing Bolts. There is hunger. There is anger in the offense of the Tampa Bay Lightning. But then when the first flurry doesn’t go in, look at Hegel battle away. That takes three Montreal Canadians deep. Now you got four Canadians and the goalender trying to play goalender. And that means when it goes back to the point that Cooerov knows where to go. Get open. Beautiful little pass here by Croer. The fake gets it over to Cooerov. Freezes the goalender. This should be good. You saw Sam Monto is now in between the pipes for the Montreal Canadians. More on that in a moment. The Lightning will be on the penalty kill to begin this second period after the cross check. Everything to the outside for the most part right now. Here’s Suzuki with a shot. Soni is there and Yonas Johansson shuts the door. Montreal held to three shots on that power play. No goals to show for it. And now the lighting is going to try to test Sam Monte ball. There’s a chance the side of the net by Gel. That was close. Out from behind the net out for Vestu. He scores. What a goal. What a moment for Death Su as he scores here in Montreal. Charlotte Waru moving in from the point does. He had time and room to take his own shot. Watch him come out from behind the net. He’s going to get the puck right here. The goalender barely recovers his position. Cooerov is so quick he could have done that. But what does he do? He looks for somebody else like he always does. Dasu had been down the wall. He saw what Cooerov was going to do. He moved to open the scoring. A much needed goal for him. Now here’s a break for Anderson. Anderson to the net. Stopped by Johansson. Rebound. Comes back across and nobody around for Montreal. And it’s knocked away. He could not get a shot. Now he and Sherel got a hustle back. Final minute sponsored by Anar Lavine. Back across. They score. Yes, they did. And this is going to be Kavan who gets one on the board for Montreal. And you don’t want it to be any different. So they go up the ice. They get sort of a chance, but they’re gassed. They were at the end of the shift. I think both were thinking, can we go to the box and get a fresh guy? There’s no time because Montreal’s coming back with numbers. Celli’s gassed. Hegel still behind the play. So they are outnumbered. The Lightning D have to back in because they don’t have enough backside pressure and because of that Montreal orchestrates it perfectly. You can see see by Celli. Celli was bent over his lane and necessary for the Lightning. The goalending has been terrific. Faceoff sponsored by Rooms to Go. Oliver Cabinet got one back late for Montreal in the late stages of that second period on the power play to make it 41. And here we go for the third. This one dug out by Serelli up ahead to Rat Rat as he’s made a several key plays again defensively. Carries it in. Takes the shot. Hits the crossbar rebound. No, I think it’s in. It’s in. Wow. How does he get that in there? The refs are saying hold on here. Radish knows it’s in. The shooters know. He knows. The refs know. They’re talking about it. Oh yeah. He’s not even hesitating. Look at that. He’s going to the vent. You’re damn right wants to see. He doesn’t know that it went in. Look how deep he is. Bottom of the circle. And it looks like he’s will be under review. Look fully across the goal line. Look where his head is and it’s in. So you see the net move. I swear it’s almost like he put the puck on edge to get it by his head and into the net. Oh, absolutely. He was just a a hair at 1838. The puck completely crossed the goal line. Yep, it’s in. So, it’s a goal and it is the fourth goal of the season in game number 200 for Darren Roders. What a shot and what a run he has been on. As we approach the midway point of this third period, Evans pulls it back to gain control as Radish. Aaron Ryish buries another one from distance and it is 6-1 Tampa Bay. Crossing patterns in between the goalender and the shooter. Now watch all the bodies here back and forth and did no I pointer I don’t think he got a piece. I wondered there for a second but control off the face off and the Lightning were getting killed. But I think even Same thing with with Toronto, same thing with Edmonton. Look out. Look out. Savern wants Josh Anderson to go and we are going to have a strap. Savin is getting after. He’s not waiting around. He started pumping that right. Now he’s got the left three and down goes Anderson. Yeah, that one didn’t last long. Saturn’s been around the block. I think that first shot that he took, that was the most dangerous. I think he threw a left at Anderson. Anderson’s a good. And speaking of this, this is how the Sabberin exchange happened with Anderson. They do the little dance. Watch the first punch right there. And it went on the top of the head. But the Lightning have earned this victory big time. And it was overdue when it comes to the scoring part. And one more shot block ends it as the
Brayden Point opened the scoring with his first goal since returning from injury, Darren Raddysh added two in the third period, and Jonas Johansson made 26 saves as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Montreal Canadiens 6-1.

We have no clue how to defend…They maxed out their credits on offense, and tonight we saw the results
Nothing to see here people. Go on about your day…. dont forget to tell your wife and your kids that you love them
Demidov is not the same even if he's still good. He need elite around him and he gonna explode
Habs – no defence at all… No words.
The game is a massacre
Winning this game would've been very beneficial
You can easily tell when the Habs are going to lose a game.
-If they get scored on, on the first 2-3 shots its over; you can forget about it if they don't tie the game within a few minutes.
-If they can't win their puck battles, you can switch to another channel; it's going to be a loss
-If they can't capitalize on turnovers/breakaways; that's another giveaway.
Also I love Gallagher but, he's just doing a cardio workout at this point. For the life of me, He cannot stay on his feet for a full shift.
Last time we see Montembeault in a Habs jersey

🕯️🕯️🙋🇸🇰💁🏒Napriek zlému výsledku Slaf.hral famózne.👍
As long as Matheson plays on that team, fogedabowed making the playoffs.
вратарь и защита обнуляет всю команду. все что летит- все залетает. Зачем вообще выходить на лед, не имея защиты и вратаря?
The first goal on Dobes was horrible. His positioning was way off center leaving his right side of the net for the taking. Say what you want about the second goal but a save is needed there – the opposition goalies have been making them on us. The way the guys are running around in their own end and are so weak on loose pucks is embarrassing
Goaltending was atrocious for the Habs tonight
Clearly Dobes is better
Молодцы электрики!)
Порвали как Тузик-грелку 😂😂😂 Куч-Могуч🎉🎉🎉
first goal man that was bad, NHL STRUBLE yikes
Just the weekly Canadiens blowout. Nothing to see here folks
It might have been better with an empty net and extra attacker
The Canadians definitely weren't listening to the announcer's opening comments. Glad the got off their losing streak.
Crumbled in the 1st period
That escalated quickly …
Mttl dont play hockey pls
I❤ Тампа 🔥🔥🔥
The Raddy pop off is hilarious
Easiest payoff of the night. No way Tampa lays an egg after getting blanked against Toronto.
So glad I turned off this game and just gave up on the Habs by the end of the first period. What a waste of time. Habs were bullied.
Just fired St Martin had enough!!!
достаточно легко тампа раскатала монреаль. хорошая игра. с победой.

Miss laine at least there would be something to watch in Montreal even it is only a PP slapper. Habs are to weak and small compared to other teams.. only a full off invidual artist with the puck. Its like boys vs mans every game ggs stlouis with hes Napoleon complex
The turning point of the habs's season is when Dobes cried in front of cameras. Look at the stats since then. Pathetic and weak.
КХЛ интереснее стало смотреть, на фоне игр НХЛ.. как то НХЛ скучно стали играть
2:31 Holmberg iiiiiiiiiiiiiiin scores 🤔
Nice fight to get the momentum back
US commentators need to go away forever. The bias in their play by play coupled with their illiteracy is annoying. It is also amazing how on the Lightning's second goal the commentator seems to call the goal before the puck even came off the shooter's stick. How is that (rigged) possible? The closing comment from one of these idiots that "The Lightning have earned this victory." is such garbage. The only thing that saved them was their goalie.
Голкипер сам приподнял ворота , чтоб залетело🤣👍
The defense is… they all chase the puck. 3 or 4 at the same exact place. What does it do? Leaves the door open. Yes goalies have been bad for many weeks. But the defense, jesus. This isn't nhl level.
Habs – defense is panic, no system. Players don't hold defensive position and don't read the game. Realy "excellent" support for Dobes. Maybe Monty is good boy, but never goalkeeper.
lol little habs that almost could
Вот это ИГРА!!! Какие сольники, супер, так держать ребятки!!!
Всем привет! Ни одно вратаря канадского не обидели!😁
