This has Timberwolves Fans VERY Concerned…

So, we begin today with a major update revolving around the Timberwolves point guards, which of course has head coach Chris Finch looking actually more unhappy than he usually does. We’re going to break down just how bad the point guard situation has become and actually talk about some potential solutions to solve that problem. I’ve got all of that and a whole lot more coming up on today’s Timberwolves Digest. As always, North America, I’m Dave Da, and I bring you daily Minnesota Timberwolves news, trade reports, trade rumors, and of course, a little bit of commentary on the side. Now, I think we can all agree that at this point, something needs to be done with our Timberwolves point guard situation. As always on the Timberwolves Digest, I like to start every show off by asking you a question. Today’s question is, if you could trade for any point guard in the NBA, who do you actually trade for? I want to know what your thoughts and opinions are. Go ahead and drop those in when you have a chance. Also, super quick, new to the channel, uh definitely go ahead and subscribe. And if you like this video, then well, like this video. Now, we’re going to dive into what has Chris Finch just so mad at this point. And it’s pretty safe to say that one of the things that has Chris Finch so mad is the following. That’s right. Old man Mike Connelly is acting and looking like an old man on the basketball court at this point. Look, I absolutely love what Mike Connelly has done for the Timberwolves, but I think it’s safe to say that he skied all the way down the backside of Career Mountain and is having a cup of hot chocolate now as opposed to actually having the ability to still play real serious minutes in the NBA. Now, I should say maybe I got that serious minutes part wrong. He has been playing serious minutes. It’s just that he hasn’t been performing at all. He scored a whopping zero points in last night’s loss at home to the Phoenix Suns. Clearly, something needs to be done at this point. So, you might be saying to yourself, well, why is Chris Finch and the Timberwolves coaching staff not playing Rob Dillingham more at this point? And I think the answer to that question is simply they have no faith. They have no trust. They don’t believe that Rob Dillingham is actually going to be a successful point guard with the Minnesota Timberwolves at this point. And in fact, they’re not even showcasing him in any way, which would actually be part of, if you will, a potential trade that most likely would involve a Rob Dillingham. Now, remember, our question of the day is a pretty simple one, which is, if you could trade for any point guard in the NBA, who would you actually trade for? Now, of course, in order to trade for any point guard in the NBA, you’re gonna have to give up something. And in this particular case, we’re either having to give up Julius Randall, or we’re having to give up Nas Reed. Now, if you’re going after a younger player like Ryan Nimhard, who’s actually pictured here right under n right underneath Chris Finch, well, that’s a different story, which might actually be the wise move for the Timberwolves at this point, which is to actually go after a young upand cominging point guard who doesn’t have a 35 to$50 million a year salary. That way you can actually keep the entire team intact while just giving up some other pieces to actually make that happen. Love to know your thoughts and opinions on that particular scenario. Go ahead and drop them in when you have a chance. All right. So, in last night’s game, we saw Bones Highland actually get some quality playing time. And I don’t think that I don’t think of Bones Bones Highland as a true point guard, but I think of Bones Highland as a option. I also want to point out that Terren Shannon Jr. only played four minutes in the game, and you all know how much I think Terren Shannon Jr. should be playing, which is a whole lot more than just four minutes in a game. I understand that Jaylen Clark is a better defender, which is of course why Chris Finch is actually playing him at this point. He has more faith in Clark’s defensive abilities than he does Terren Shannon Jr. But notice no Rob Dillingham at all. They didn’t play him at all last night. Not even a sniff. I don’t even think he took off his training uh his training shoes for the game at all. Look, at the end of the day, watching Bones Highland play last night and put up some big numbers is fantastic. It’s just that Bones is not a true point guard. I certainly would love to see Bones get some more minutes because he’s a change of pace guy like a Terren Shannon Jr. And if you’re not going to play TJ, then play Bones because he can, if you will, change the pace of a game at the drop of a dime. Now, taking a look back at Mike Connley here, I understand why the Timberwolves went ahead and agreed to pay Mike Connelly a significant amount of money to remain with the team for one more year. I totally get it. Mike Connelly is a bit of a player coach at this point and certainly has the ears and eyes of all the younger players on the Timberwolves team, including Anthony Edwards, who once again scored over 40 points last night in the Timberwolves losing effort. Look, at the end of the day, when we actually take a hard look at this Timberwolves roster, it really becomes pretty clear what needs to happen. Now, it’s really a question of what are the Timberwolves actually willing to give up to actually make a deal happen this particular year. And I think once they actually finally come to a conclusion and figure that part out, we will know exactly where the Timberwolves are going to head because I think it’s as certain as water being wet at this point that the Timberwolves are going to make some sort of move at some point. So I ask you looking at these players and I could have added Trey Young to this picture. Uh, LaMelo Ball comes to mind. Uh, um, Lonzo Ball, I guess, to some extent. Look, at the end of the day, there are a lot of really solid point guards in the NBA. Now, if you bring in a Trey Young, then you of course at that point have to give up on a Julius Randle or Nazare and a Dante Deenzo. It’s the only way you can make the math actually work. But if you go after a young upand cominging point guard that you scouted extraordinarily well and know that that particular player is going to succeed at some point in the NBA, that’s certainly worth taking a look at. But you all have to remember that Chris Finch does not like playing young players. All right, go ahead and drop your comments in. Hey, seriously, I want to thank everybody out there for all of your support. You’ve been dropping in a ton of comments. Certainly appreciate it. I read every single one of them. Comment when I can. Thanks so much for tuning into the Timberwolves Digest as always, North America. I’m Dave Da wishing you all a tremendous rest of your sports viewing day.

  1. We need either another guard who can score and create or a big man who doesn't have butter fingers. They have been hitting Rudy in the low post recently with oops or a pass on a drive but it hasn't been a regular thing. We need more points from those positions.

  2. PG doesn't solve their issues. The entire team is giving up too many easy points, turning the ball over too much, and completely breaking down too often.

Wolves are just looking older and slower than their competition.

  3. I’m going to be a little harsh. I wish the channel success, BUT…the titles are click bait-y. Moreover, the real problem is that the content is too much framing. More than half of this is framing topics. Maybe do less but prepare more. There are lots of facts and metrics to discuss.

  4. All professional sports teams make mistakes when drafting. It's always a gamble and sometimes you lose. At one time, the Twolves were thinking about drafting Wiseman instead of Ant. Think about that. Rob needs to be a scoring machine to offset his weak defense, otherwise, he becomes too much of a liability on defense. I really don't like the Twolves giving up any assets to get some other team's rejects. I guess I would dangle out Rob and TS as trade but no one else. You may be able to get a decent point guard, but no stars. A new situation may be the best for Rob and Terrence. Clark needs to stay; he is a player. If JB grows quickly, then trade
