[Chase Daniel] This One Thing Changed Everything for Shedeur Sanders – QB Film Breakdown

Tl;dr Shedeur looked a lot better on film this week. Lots of good throws into tight windows and he seemed much calmer in the pocket. Much better processing of the defense as well. Interception was bad.

What we’re not talking about:
2 starts in inclement weather. Played well in snow and 20-30 mph winds. Might come in handy for a team in idk? Cleveland? Yup.
He’s thrown at least 3-4 DIMES…in 3 starts. Forget DG, when was the last time someone used “throwing dimes” in the same sentence with a Browns QB? Yup.
Good start. Keep building.
The bad team argument is true but some of these throws are great regardless of what team you’re playing
Like just because the titans are abysmal doesn’t make a tight over the shoulder ball impressive
We found our guy
I’d love for him to be the guy but feel like at best he will be very baker-like and any rough game will have everyone on edge if he really is “the guy”. 3 or 4 decent games and one shitty one and this fan base loses it and somehow the front office starts getting weird at not communicating offers or anything. But that’s a long way down the road. Best bet is to keep looking good and losing games. Get stacked at wideouts and o line and we’d be solid.
Love a video starting off with a gambling pitch, that’s how you know they can be trusted
Wow this dude really doesn’t say anything huh
Okay, but the Titans are like the worst team in the NFL lol
Not to nitpick but on the last few deep throws he has had the ball has fallen short. Now granted, I get the weather has been bad, but I do hope he can get that figured out. For example his deep ball to Tillman could have been a TD if Sanders was able to get it further out
Before he can be penciled in as a starter he needs the game to slow down for him, he’s still holding onto the ball too long.
For context, the QB that holds the ball the longest that is “good” is Lamar at 3.11 seconds. (4th highest in the league), 10th place is Allen at 3.0 seconds
Shedeur is longest at 3.4 seconds, but more importantly 3.9 seconds when pressured.
For reference in the Steelers/vikings games Dillon Gabriel was 2.7 seconds ttt when under pressure and he still got sacked and pressured a ton.
If Shedeur holds the ball for 3.9 against defenses like the Vikings it’s gonna be the geno smith 10 sack performance.
Ima be real, I hope Sanders gets traded. I want him to be at a more stable organization. Browns needs to clean house at all the top levels. Fans of the browns deserve better.
It feels like he wasn’t playing to not make mistakes. The first 2 games it felt like he was seeing it but like I can’t make a mistake. If the report I read that he was told he was the starter for the rest of the season last week. That would add up to him playing more free.
I could see Sanders ending up somewhere between Geno Smith and Joe Burrow, which I’m 100% on board for. I just hope he avoids Burrow’s injuries.
I have been pleasantly surprised by what Ive seen of him thus far.
I was absolutely against him coming here as I felt him and his famous Dad would be a distraction for this team.
Came in and kept his head down and done the work needed so far.
And Deion has been pretty much quiet.
I hope Chase Daniel didn’t spend any of his own money on that suit
The thing I was happy with is he gave up.on.some.plays and threw the ball away. The INT was bad, but he had a few other plays he extended, but didn’t try to force anything. I’m still.concerned with how often he tries to extend plays, a better team will get those sacks. But baby steps. I think the other pieces of the game are there, needs to speed up his reads, but that takes time.
I mean, he played better for sure. But it still wasn’t good. First play they show is a perfect example. He misses the obvious read to make the perfect pass. Does he make it? Absolutely. But his footwork was bad and the decision was bad. And if you make him do that 50 times over the next 5 years, he is going to give away a lot of touchdowns. Is he the answer for us for the next five years? I haven’t seen it yet.
HOWEVER, people saying he is absolute garbage need to chill. Its his third start. Sure its against the Titans, but he is playing with a dog shit team. And he did ball out. Depending on what happens the rest of this year and where we fall in the draft, I would be ok with giving him the ball next year. We need recievers and Oline in a MAJOR way for any QB. So unless we are picking top 2, I say we draft a receiver and oline in the first and probably oline in the second too. Give him another year and see what he does with improved talent around him. If he sucks, we should be picking high next year and can go get Manning or whoever. Its just way too early to tell with him.
