Warsofsky on Lack of Compete, Klingberg’s PP Turnover | Sharks vs. Capitals Post-Game (12.3.25)

Coach, just disappoint you with just the lack of push back. It’s one of the few games this year where things have kind of just really spiraled out of control this year. Yeah, very disappointed. What What can you learn from that Washington Capital team that kept aspirations there? How hard they compete? Is there a concern um in terms of these kind of losses? Like last week he had one against Colorado. Like they’re just a little too close together maybe at this point. Um there’s more of a concern how we don’t compete consistently. Anyway, you you feel like you can find like a cause. Is it just is there any idea what the cause could be where the compete just sometimes disappears? Yeah, we got to figure it out. It’s up to uh the coaches and and and us as a group to figure that out, do it more consistently. Tonight in particular, it seemed like you guys got off actually to a decent start. Uh power play had a lot of chances. Just what happens after they score that goal in your viewpoint, their first goal? Yeah, it just snowballs out of control really. um you know and we turn one over you know it goes on the on the power play and it goes in the back of our net and next thing you know the the momentum shifts uh dramatically and I don’t want to focus on just the one player but that turnover clingberg he’s had a issue this year kind of with turnovers up high on the power play and just what is the message to him like have you guys been asking him to maybe move make quicker puck decisions up there? Yeah, we have. I know there’s been no more positivity lately, but are the losses against Colorado and Washington, is that a necessary reality check for the team? I’d say this is more, you know, this is more a reality check of I think we get comfortable having a little bit of success. Um, and we think sometimes it’s going to be a little bit easy for us and this is uh a tough league and and when you play some really good teams, they compete shift in and shift out and you know that that’s just the reality of it. Kind of explain the win loss win loss pattern maybe this team’s in right now. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. That’s that’s probably a good good reason for it. You know, we we you know, we think uh we have a little bit of success and here we are off to off to the races. uh we have a lot of touches and score a lot of goals the other night. You know, probably don’t deserve many of those goals either and then um you know, human nature is to kind of come off it a little bit and feel comfortable and so we got to get uncomfortable. What did you think of the defense tonight? I mean, Asie has to wear the four the four goals, but he was getting a lot of initial stops and they were getting a lot of second third chances. What did you think of just your overall effort on the team? Terrible. Our defense was terrible. Gather that bas wasn’t a performance thing. That was kind of a wakeup call decision. Yeah, for sure. Or was saying there was a lot of lack of communication and do you feel there was a lot of lack of communication among the players? Yeah, I mean I think we can all communicate more and you know there the players on the ice have to communicate and get connected uh in certain situations for sure. Um can you find something from uh again on the power play. Do you think you guys have found something there with him there? Yeah, he goes to the net, scored two greasy goals. That’s what happens. You go to the net. Thanks,

  1. Good teams have figured how to counter us. Colorado, Vegas, now Capitals have lit us up in a similar way , got to figure out what they are seeing against us

  2. Id rather watch Sam Dickinson make mistakes on PP1 and learn than a dude who has no future in the NHL fumble around the puck. I dont even blame Klingberg its Warsos fault for keeping him out there.

  3. We’re a fringe playoff team being held back by our stupid coach playing these scrubs every night. There’s a reason our record is good with Sam and mukh playing. I support you a lot warso but decisions like this might make you want you gone

  4. I really hope this is the straw to break the camels back with Klingberg. Sit him out for this entire road trip. Give Dickinson more ice time. Keep Muk in the lineup for more than 1 or 2 games in a row.

  5. Sharks actually played decently in the first period on offense. But they allowed the Caps to rush the net on shot attempts for easy follow up shots. Good strategy by them. Fire the puck and crash the net.
