As an Avs fan since 95 and hockey fan since before that it seems the Avs org has always embraced the past and the Nords history since day 1. I think the real issue is the fact that the NHL "let" the history go with the org was the mistake if there is one with the Avs honoring their past. So I dont think its strange that they are doing this. Now the Devils having Rockies jerseys would be strange 🙂

The Stars needed 7 games and an unreal performance from a jilted Moose to close the Avalanche out, and that was with the goalies not being well established and with Landeskog just coming back from a 3-year recovery period. I strongly believe the depth and the goaltending will be the difference makers that take the Avalanche over the top in the playoffs against the Stars, assuming they meet again. The Stars are basically their top two lines and not much else.
Maybe it will be good for this to happen: Col mediocre for the second 3rd of season, pick up help at deadline, then turn it up again for last 3rd of season, and go into playoffs with 3rd best record, but not overworked and playing well.
Most crybabies who pretend to be upset about the Nordiques jersey are too young to even remember the Nordiques when they were playing
If watching the two best teams battle it out for the cup, clearly we need a 1-16 matchup. Potentially with Dallas and Colorado in the finals. I get the travel considerations so maybe change the format to a 3-2-2 as well..
It feels pretty silly to say anything critical about the Avs right now after the start they’ve had, but this PP had been so frustrating to watch. Take away the fact that this level of talent on the PP alone should be near the top of the league… but the fact that they are worse now than last year, while this is the one specific reason they lost in round one leading to a coach getting fired, is particularly hard to stomach.
But what I want to know is, have the Avs been good on the PP at all since Mikko was traded? I think they were a little better than league average last year but I’m not sure? Regardless, something needs to change.
