I regret to inform you that the Colorado Avalanche have indeed regressed(?) all the way down to an .800 clip in their last 10 games. They're no longer on pace to set the regular season points record (one point shy). The haters were right — the Avs couldn't keep it up forever.

Listen, I don't know what to say. This team continues to pick up points at an absurd rate. If this keeps up into the halfway point of the season, I may have to stop comparing them to recent Avs teams, and start comparing their season progression to the best seasons in NHL history.

These are the salad days, friends. Just enjoy the ride, because from a regular season standpoint, it doesn't really get much better than this Avalanche team is doing so far.

  1. I was just reflecting a out how I felt last season at this time, and wow this is so refreshing, even taking into account the PP and shootout.

  2. What is really killing us is we can’t use our speed and firepower to finish the games, we tie, in OT. Then we get into SO and we are horrible in SO. If we split the SOs, we’re up 3 more points.

  3. Look at that regression… idk guys I think it’s time to sell and build for the future.
