‘Biggest home run of my career’ – Eugenio Suárez on MASSIVE grand slam to help Mariners win Game 5
Gino Suarez, 12 years in the major leagues, more than 300 home runs, but this trip around the bases, tell me what that felt like, what you were thinking. Obviously this is the biggest home run in my career. Yeah, like I say, this is, it’s gotta be the biggest home run in my career. I was so special. I’ve been, I’ve been waiting this for a long time. It’s been a while I have a game like this today. It was awesome being able to hit that grand slam there and give it a win to my team, to the fans. They’ve been here to support us all year long, all season series. Nobody says it’s gonna be easy, but. You gotta, you gotta fight you gotta stay in the fight, never quit and I go to fight God because he give me the power. He put everything on myself. I lock in myself right there. And just try to drive one in and got his good and I, I dreamed for. Well, Gino, take me through that at bat because it wasn’t just one swing, 6 pitches and epic at bat. What was your approach and how did it change with 2 strikes? I mean, I know I know you got a good stop. Myself don’t don’t let that fastball beat you. I knew he’s gonna at some point you’re gonna throw me one right there, not try too much, locking myself in and try to put a ball in play. I know I got enough power to at least drive my in and I hit that big flight right there and and now we win the game. Gino, it’s your 2nd time here at Seattle. You know what baseball means. What’s the Mariners mean to this town. Right now the Mariners are closer to the World Series than they’ve ever been. You have the opportunity to go to the World Series in Toronto in Game 6. Tell me about that opportunity and what it means for this franchise and this city. It would be this year for everybody in this. Organization for our fans they’ve been waiting a long time for this moment and we’re here to give it to them. We’re here to fight for a World Series not only for the ASL job we we’re here to fight for a World Series. We wanna give it to them. We wanna stay in the fight and we needed them to stay with us in the fight. Congratulations, Gino. Thank you so much.

Congratulations Mariners!
Awesome seeing these 2 battle it out to see who’ll get swept by LA
Man – I watched this live at 2am in England, go M’s!
Hearing Geno’s emotions in this and his post game presser, really got me. He’s had a tough post season but stayed positive and just had the biggest hit of his career!
We’re all behind you Geno! Let’s finish it Sunday
Such a sweet player, and a real gentleman. What a hit!
Thank you.
What difference does it make, the Dodgers are going to decimate them. And I’m a Yankees fan….
Glory to the power of the Lord ❤Amen Brother Eugenio one more win please Lord 💍
This has been the most Mariners post-season ever. They follow-up a gruelling 15 innings winner take all game by immediately crushing the Blue Jays 2-0 on the road. Then absolutely capitulate at home to tie the series. Backs to the wall, game almost done, 8th innings down 2-1, with barely a hit all day and of course they suddenly smash 2 homers including a Grand Slam to send the series back to Toronto with the lead.
If ever they are going to finally get that elusive title, this is the complete chaos they would wreak to do it.
Eugenio Suárez is an anagram for Louis Sojo.
If you watch the replay, after he hits the slam he looks to the outfield, he takes a deep breath and a deep exhale and is 100% savoring the moment. How can you not be romantic about baseball?
Gifted a win lol
I love listening hispanic players say home run. Their accent makes in sound like hone rohn
That’s Awesome Eugenio 🇻🇪
In another interview, Eugenio explained in perfect detail why God hates the Blue Jays so much.
Whoo Hooooooo!!!!!!
Unfortunately the Mariners didn’t win that game. Jays put in the their worst pitcher, what would you expect? lol
Another mindlessly irrational religious NPC. 😵💫🥱
💙Seattle should build another upper deck of seating in Left Field to get rid of the glare in the batter's eye while blocking some of the wind knocking down home run balls and shrink all the foul ball territory with again more seating to pay for the modification to make it a better hitters park. The increased seat capacity ends up paying for the upgrade. If you are a good hitter that wants to get paid with a better contract based on your offensive numbers, why would you want to sign a contract with Seattle when you will be playing half your games at a stadium that makes your stats worse. Worse stats, worse money, worse prestige etc. So the good hitters won't wanna play long term for Seattle at all if the contract is the same for another team. Thank God Cal Raleigh was nice enough to put up with staying in a park that's the hardest in all of MLB to hit in, but he and Geno are the exceptions.💚 I used to be obsessed with the Mariners when I was a kid but stopped watching because I realized after the hitters make a name for themselves, they'll leave and the already good ones don't wanna stay
This is Eugenio Suarez after hitting a grand slam homerun.
