AD to Detroit won’t go away… #nba #trade #detroitpistons #dallasmavericks

Anthony Davis to the Pistons. What’s really going on here? Yesterday, Shams dropped a bomb when he said, “Pistons, Raptors, and the Atlanta Hawk will emerge as suitors for Anthony Davis.” Pistons fans immediately began to panic. However, the key wording here was trade suitors. This simply means that the Pistons could be a desirable landing spot and trade partner with the Dallas Mavericks and Anthony Davis. Clutch Points later confirmed this with a report stating that the Pistons and Mavs have yet to hold trade conversations. I personally would avoid a trade for the soon-to-be 33-year-old AD.

  1. Makes no sense. He gets paid 60 mill a year for the next 2 and a half years, he’s turning 33, and is always injured. Do we really have so much confidence in Mr Glass to stay healthy to risk our future and cap space on him? I don’t think so

  2. I think they have to do due diligence and find out what the cost is vs other guys they can get in on. I'd much rather, especially if they are going to give any significant assets away like Ivey, go in a different direction like Trey Murphy. But if he's cheap (Davis) and healthy (not likely) he could be a good asset for a deep playoff run in a weird year due to Tatum and Haliburton being down. Duren, Stewart and Davis would make for a fearsome D presence in the paint. But there are a lot of ifs around Davis so my strong preference would be to go a different direction. He would also draw a lot of attention away from Cade offensively. Spacing would be kind of mid though. Would prefer a stronger three point threat.

  3. People keep forgetting how great AD is, it all depends on the package ur sending out to dallas. If ur giving up tobi, a decent young guy, and a few picks, that is incredibly value for a guy like AD. The issue is injuries, but in this league, u need to take risks to get prizes. Detroit would be one of the only teams in the league to have 2 top 10 players on their team at once, while maintaining good depth. It’s definitely intriguing, but at the same time, the big man depth is pretty good as is right now
