Pirates and Red Sox Swap 5 players, headlines by Johan Oviedo and “Password” Garcia!

Hey, Bucko fans. Pirates did something. They did something. That’s right. A fiveplayer trade to get Join Garcia or Password as many of you have come to know him from the Boston Red Sox. That is the highlight of this deal. Going the other way, Johan Oedo. There are other players involved. We will talk about this a lot more tomorrow, but let’s focus on the two main components of this deal before we do anything else. Uh, this is a good trade for the Pirates. First, if you listen to the show, as many of you have, you know that I’ve wanted this guy for the better part of two seasons. So, uh, I’m certainly not going to complain that they finally executed it. And this is a guy that quite frankly I was suggesting would be part of a package in return for Mitch Keller. And to get him for Johan Ovo instead is pretty exciting to me. Not a finished product. Will play a role next year, I believe, but he’s got some work to do to really capitalize on the potential that he’s got. Ton of power potential though from this kid. Really excited about the move in general. Will miss Johan Oviero. I think that dude is a dog. I don’t think they gave away something bad here for something good. I think this is a good baseball trade though. We’re going to talk a hell of a lot more about it tomorrow on Locked on Pirates.
