Will The Phillies Rue The 2026 Offseason #Phillies

If the Phillies didn’t go five years, he wasn’t going to be back. He wasn’t taking four. He wouldn’t have said, “Well, you guys are offering four years. They’re offering five.” He was demanding five years. So he So he got five years. He was walking away if they didn’t go to five years. So all the love of the fans would have been, “I love you, Philly fans, but I’m leaving because I didn’t get what I wanted.” That’s the bottom line. I believe everything he said. He’s genuine, but he would have walked away. argument is is that the reason he’s back is because he got what he wanted in the contract, not because of the fans. He got what he wanted in the demands of the contract. The contract got what he wanted. If the Phillies did not go to five years, he wasn’t coming back. He was leaving. Yeah, but I don’t feel like I’m being lied to when he’s saying like I didn’t say you’re being lied to. Why are you making an argument that’s not existing? It sounds like how you’re framing. No, it’s not. So then don’t keep saying that. I’m not saying that. We’re just responding to what you’re saying. He loves the Phillies. He loves the fans. But he was not coming back if he didn’t get five years. So when he tells you he lo when he says he loves the fans here, he does. But he would have been saying it as an exit interview. He would have been saying, “I love the Philly fans. You guys were the best. But if the Phillies didn’t Annie up the fifth year, he was gone.” By the way, you’re glad he got it. I’m not cuz I think this organization is heading to is heading to trouble. Is heading to trouble. I think the disaster could begin this year. And I’m telling you right now, we are going to ru the day. We’re going to look back on this off seasonason, especially if they bring back Real Muto 2. We’re going to look back on this off seasonason and we’re going to say this was the beginning of the problems for the Phillies.

  3. He's absolutely correct. They still have at least 2 glaring holes in the OF. Need at least one SP. BP help. A C too. Somewhere in there they need to find a RH hitter with some pop who can hit behind Harper or we'll see him get even less pitches in the zone in 2026 than he did in 2025. This was an absolute mistake. Should have either resigned Ranger or signed Alonso.

  4. John is acting like two things can’t be simultaneously true… if Baltimore went 5-$155 on Alonso they’d most likely went 5-$160 for Schwarber . But I believe when they offered 5-$150 Schwarber & the agent said Phillies match this and we will sign now . He could’ve bled more money but he got the contract he wanted to be where he wanted to be so those are both true .
