BIG-TIME Miami Heat News: Terry Rozier Update + Pelle Larsson Injury News
[Music] We have a big edition of the heat report by chat sports. Pel Lararssen, we have an injury update on him after his nasty rolled ankle on Tuesday against the Orlando Magic. Plus, we have not talked about Terry Rosier in a very long time. We have to talk about the latest surrounding Terry. I am Nick Rolloloff. We’re starting with Palo Larson because the MRI on Larson revealed a sprained ankle. It could have been a lot worse considering when the camera panned him on the ground, he was grabbing at his Achilles, but it is going to be about a week or two week injury for Pel Larson. We’ll see how his ankle responds, but it’s a tough loss for the Miami Heat. Larson in his second year out of Arizona has been a large contributor for this team, not only off the bench, but starting a lot of games with Larson um taking over for Norman Powell and um Andrew Wiggins at times throughout the first month of the season. He’s been pretty solid, but his his impact and efficiency certainly has decreased a little bit over the last couple weeks since Miami has been healthy. But when the Heat were starting, Larson, Wiggins, Powell, Mitchell, and Bam. Well, the Heat were playing some pretty good basketball. Now, if you’re asking me who is going to replace Pal Larson in the lineup for Miami, maybe Nicola Yovic gets the call again because the Heat have been going 910 deep. And with Larson, who’s been a key contributor off the bench out of the lineup, you’d imagine they would go with another wing type of guy like Nicoolola Yoich. Yoic has been a main talking point for Heat fans this year. Got a four-year $62 million extension in the off season and then immediately went to mush. He has not been helpful at all for Miami. He needs to start producing. He’s not being paid $15 million per season just yet. That begins next year, but he has been unplayable at times. His offensive efficiency has jumped off of a cliff. He has been targeted defensively almost every single possession. He can’t play defense and he hasn’t done anything positively on offense either which makes him unplayable, but he will have another opportunity over the next couple weeks here with Pel Larson out of the lineup with that sprained ankle. Let’s get into the major part of the show today which is about Terry Rosier. The latest on Rosier because just a couple days ago on December 8th, he did have to appear in court. Now, he pleaded not guilty in federal court and actually posted a $3 million bond. Must be nice to have that money to just get out of jail for the time being, but he’s not out of the neck of the woods just yet, folks. That’s for sure. But the issue and the problem that we’re going to talk about today is the lack of clarity on the Miami Heats end of things from the NBA. Adam Silver should be ashamed of the witchcraft he has done towards the Miami Heat. The NBA knew and they lied about it. Lied, hid the truth, however you want to say it. The point I’m making is Tim Bontemps went on ESPN and literally reported that during the conversations between Charlotte and Miami when discussing a terror Rosier trade a couple years ago, the NBA and Hornets never informed the Heat about the investigation or even the inkling that Rosier did something sketchy in the legal grant landscape of gambling. How do you not tell us? That’s ridiculous. It is. It’s so ridiculous that Bill Simmons, arguably the number one hater of the Miami Heat in the media landscape, is defending Miami. On his podcast this week, he literally said Miami should get their pick back. And he’s never seen the league [ __ ] over a team like this. What a joke. I’m telling you, I like I I don’t know why this isn’t being made a larger deal by the normal NBA fan. Adam Silver is literally deciding to make the Heat worse by not only not giving the Heat a pickback. Now, the Heat would have to file a grievance with the NBA and the Charlotte Hornets, and we’re going to talk about that here in a second. But the idea that they were already aware of potential wrongdoing and didn’t make Miami available or in the no in the slightest should have the FBI looking at Adam Silver for corruption and maybe he should be thrown in prison. This episode is brought to you by Prize Fix. It’s the holiday season, the best time of the year for sports. Bowl games, basketball matches, playoff pushes, and it’s all happening at once. While you and I are out here making decisions every day, well, gifts to buy, what to eat, what game to watch, there is one place where it feels good to be right, and that is prize picks. Early payouts, new feature on prize picks. Your lineup gets off to a hot start. You may now have the option to cash out those winnings before the game even finishes. Just pick more or less and at least two player stats. If you get your picks right, you could cash in. You could also put the same player in your lineup to three times now. You can go more than on BAM points, fantasy score, points, rebounds, and assists. You can now pick all them in the same lineup only on prize picks. No heat basketball for a while. So, I’m going more than Devon Han rushing yards, less than Jaylen Warren rushing yards and less than Malik Washington receiving yards in the Dolphin Steelers Monday Night Football game this upcoming week. Download the Prize Pix app today and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup prize picks. It’s good to be right. So, now that I’ve vented about the NBA banging the Miami Heat at this point, let’s talk about how they’re still kind of banging Miami. because right now it’s being reported that the Heat are acting as if they can trade him. Now, obviously, no team is going to actually want Terry Rosier, the player, but the contract that Terry has, which we’ll talk about here in a second, could be valuable to not only a team out there looking to shed salary in the future, but also for the Heat to match salary in a potential big-time trade. and the Heat are currently proceeding towards the trade deadline like they can use that contract in a trade. Now, Jake Fischer had this report this week that he’s been told Miami can agree to a trade in principle that includes Tara Rosier salary, but the NBA would need to then generate an official ruling from the NBA whether that’s legal or not. I’m going to try not to get worked up here, but you already know what I’m going to say. Now, let’s go to what Tim Bontemps had to say from ESPN. And he said the fact that Rosier is still on the roster is a sign that he could be traded. Kevin Porter Jr. was arrested and a month later he was able to be dealt to the Thunder who waved him, which could happen here if the Heat traded Rosier. I think it’s safe to say the likely answer is Terry Rosier would be able to be traded. But here is my main issue, folks. the NBA. You’re going to [ __ ] us by not telling us about the investigation into Terry Rosier and him potentially having wrongdoing in a gambling probe, but then you’re not going to give us a pickback if we ultimately tried to get it back because Bobby Marks and Tim Bonteps said that the Heat would likely not win a grievance if they filed one with the NBA. You see what they said at the bottom of your screen on the hoop collective? So, you’re not going to give us a pickback if we even filed a grievance. You didn’t tell us about the investigation when it was happening. And then you could potentially not allow us to trade him. That would be a bang job beyond all bang jobs in the history of the world. Like, I I was going to make a real bad joke. We’re going to hold off. We’re going to move forward, though. But the point I’m trying to make here is that the Heat can use this contract. He’s got a $26.6 million expiring contract. Now, 24.8 of it is uh guaranteed. 1.8 is non-G guaranteed. It becomes fully guaranteed after about mid January. But the point is if the Heat wanted to trade for a Giannis or trade for an expiring other contract or a superstar that is kind of on the decline like a John Moran, a Zion Williamson, a Kawhi Leonard. And that’s not me advocating that they should. I’m just trying to say that if they wanted to, Terry Rosier’s $26 million could come in a big part of that because it could match salary, but another team, as Tim Bontemps pointed out, could look at that contract and say, “Hey, if we have a multi-year guy here like Kawhi Leonard who’s on the decline, and we want to trade away Leonard, well, why not take back a contract that we don’t have to take past this season and Tara Rosier and then we’ll have cap space in the off season in free agency that can be super valuable. Like you look at some players that kind of fit this bill here. Obviously the big one is going to be Giannis Antin Koopo. We’ve already talked about Kawhi Leonard. But what if the Heat wanted to make a Grizzliesesque trade from 2019 where they acquired Andre Gdala and Jay Crowder from the Grizzlies? Well, I think PJ Wash and Daniel Gaffford would have the same level of impact for Miami if they didn’t want to go star hunting. Gaffford and Washington, their contracts, by the way, $28 million when you add them up. So, you could use Rosier’s 26 plus a Hawz or a Yoic contract and second round picks or maybe one first round pick and get a trade done without losing any real value in your lineup and picking up two veterans. Claxton makes 25. You can combine Wiggins and Rosier to get Lori Market in alongside draft capital. Same with Kai and Giannis. Like the point I’m making here is that if the NBA stopped screwing us over and just gave us clarity on the situation, Miami would able to really have an idea of how they should attack this trade deadline and maybe even start to talk about potential deals to get done right now. It’s just so incredibly frustrating that it feels like Miami is being left in limbo right now. Just give me clarity, man. And I hope Miami does file a grievance with the NBA, even if those scumbags rule against us, make them look even more scummy than they already are, because they’re looking like the bad guy here, whether it’s Charlotte or the NBA for not letting us know. And then they could double down on being a the bad guy by denying the grievance. Like, I’m not even asking for our pick back in 2027. I’m not. I’m just asking for a comp pick. give us a 2027 comp pick in name from the NBA because just by doing that it would unlock four tradable first round picks for the Miami Heat. So it would help us out immensely in a potential pursuit for an NBA superstar which is all I’m asking for. Not asking for our pick back. I’m just asking for the comp pick which would then unlock four tradable firstrounders. NBA figure it the [ __ ] out man. Seriously. All right. That’ll do it for today’s show. Appreciate everybody. We’ll be back again tomorrow with another show probably on Yiannis trade rumors. So join the channel and be on the lookout for that. [Music]

Bill Simmons on the Terry Rozier Heat news:
“I hate defending the Heat. It’s their ‘27 1st round pick. It’s crazy they traded for Rozier who’s under investigation but they don’t tell them. They should get pick back. They don’t know if they can trade him, unless they put him in a trade… I’ve never seen the league f*ck over a team like this!”

No DUH. Silver still not doing anything about Clippers. The alien is in over his dome
Click bait smh we all know that
Jovic trash man
please no more niko. keshad is the one you want to develop into a rebounding wing defender. adam silver such a lousy biased commissioner who's ruining this league.
Let kas play…
I used to give Adam Silver credit for how he ran the league. But time has proven me wrong. He's the reason everyone involved in the NBA is now way more wealthy at the expense of the fans and the game.
8:18 I love when Rolly gets worked up his ‘Rated R’ side wants to creep up😂
Heat should be allowed to use the Rozier contract in a trade. The NBA investigation is over with. He’s innocent until proven guilty. So trade away.
When a player misses games due to crime they're not paid. So doesn't that make Rozier's contract valuable because they dont have to pay it?
I wanted to give Adam Silver the benefit of the doubt, but as soon as Terry is charged, the "Silver Age" must end.
These dudes just be making videos to have something to talk about and get money
If a known Heat hater like Bill Simmons can tell this Rozier situation was malicious and deliberate, I do not want to hear a single excuse, only just compensation
Heat in 5! Talk yo shit Nic!
Every fan base (aside from the hornets) agrees that Heat got screwed over in that trade. The league has to do the right thing here
Doing a prize picks ad in the middle of a talking about a gambling controversy is crazy 😂😂😂
