just using kind of reflect. When you reflect, what are some of the things that you’ve been thinking about re-watching sort of evaluating just uh just for me personally um on the court is how I’m a score, how we get easy buckets. Um where my buckets come from on the floor with certain players. Um so yeah, it’s amazing. How was Paul for you? Like I see things like maybe pull you aside. Yeah. Yeah. P uh P helped me a lot. Um as someone I have a good relationship with. Um so he helped me a lot just telling me the things, you know, things he experienced, you know, as a player, as a rookie. Um you know, so yeah, it’s just we just overall we have like a we have like a personal relationship, you know, outside of basketball. I I guess I guess what would be in particular example of like what he’s made for the pass. I know you just play a lot of minutes. Has he maybe helped him have handles and anything like that? Yeah. Um yeah, he always just tell me to be myself. So many things he tell me to say. Doesn’t matter if he’s on the floor, Joe’s on the floor, he’s on the floor, whoever’s on the floor, just be myself. Yeah. And he helped me with just also little defensive tips. Um just little things like that. Anybody can get better. Has this break given you guys a chance to maybe iron some stuff out because now guys are getting healthier and you’re being able to see like the true kind of starting lineup and what you guys want to be able to do. Yeah. Um yeah, I’ll say that, you know, rest is important. Know it’s giving everyone time, like you said, get back get back healthy. Um so it’s it’s it’s also it’s actual beneficial to us um with having people out injuries and stuff. So yeah, we we getting back healthy. So yeah. games. I mean, not only did you play against Buddy, but you played against my man at the Center for the Lakers and you played against him, but you also had people from your national team um watching y’all play. What was that like for you, you know, being from the Bahamas playing in those games? Yeah. Um, it was great. It was great, man. Um, it was always a dream of mine. I mean, obviously to play in that day, I mean, to also play against fellow Bahamians, you know, it’s amazing just showing how the sport has grown in the Bahamas. Um, sure, anyone can make it, you know, if you just work hard. Um, so yeah, it was great to just play against them. You know, I look at them as big brothers, you know, people that helped me throughout my journey. Um, people I have personal relationship with. Um, so yeah. But also Michael Thompson. Yeah, Mikey was definitely. Yeah, Mikey’s Yeah, you say just have show they showing support. Um, you know, it means a lot. Um, you know, support goes a long way, you know, especially when it’s genuine. You know, it goes a long way. So, yeah, DJ, the length and pace of the NBA season is so different from college, just in your first year. How have you kind of reassessed that first quarter now that you’ve had this opportunity to kind of take Yeah, like you say, it’s different. Um, but I’m I’m still adjusting. I’m still adjusting. I’ll be honest with you. I’m still adjusting. Um, but you know, it’s it’s steady progression every day. There’s little things I know I need to work on, things I could probably get away with in college I won’t get away with in the NBA. Um, so I say just every day just steady steady building. Um, just to get better, man. So, yeah. How does your calf feel? My calf where? Yeah, my calf is great. Now I feel the pain. You know, God is great. Um, I’m healthy and I thank God for that. something that coach mentioned maybe a couple weeks ago. I think it was before you got hurt is just how he knows he mentioned that care about games was like at halftime was pretty pretty okay if you remember there you go I guess when did like have you always been someone that’s been able to take at coaching and I guess had to learn how to um receive the message and maybe not pay attention to the tone. Yeah, it’s definitely something I had to go through. Um say I know it’s all out of love. You know it’s all for the betterment of the team. Um which comes first then also for me. Um and then you got to have the relationship. I have a relationship with coach. You know I have relationship with my teammates even. Yeah. Telling me criticizing let me know what I’m doing wrong. You know I’m always open and willing to learn. You know I’m not the smartest kid in the room. I’m not the smartest person in the world. So I’m always willing to learn. And like I say, whatever coach, he had to get on me for that. You know, I can it no matter whatever tone, I’m going just always look at the message, you know. I mean, in the moment, it’ll probably be like, “Oh, damn. Why you why you yelling?” But overall, you know, as as I continue to mature and get older, you understand? Just look at the message and what, you know, that’s
