Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome to Thursday, December 11th, 2025 edition of the show. Today on the show, the University of Memphis introduced their new head football coach yesterday over at the University of Memphis and good reviews for uh coach Charles Huff. We will get to that. NBA Cup was going on last night. The Chiron Moore story is absolutely crazy. We got some football news we’re going to get to. and Jamai Mhack, rookie for the Memphis Grizzlies, going to join us in studio today. It’s Thursday, it’s cold out. Smile. Let’s do it. Turn it up. Once in your life, won’t you do what feels right instead of waiting for the next thing to strike. Stop running your mouth. Get out of the house. Get yourself down and sh [Applause] [Music] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hope everybody’s having a good day. All right. Bunch of stuff to get to on the show today. Not the least of which is the University of Memphis announced their new football coach yesterday and everybody got their first impressions of Charles Huff. We will let you hear what he had to say yesterday to the collected media. In addition to that, uh, NBA Cup had center stage last night, a damn near 50point win for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and then the Spurs beat the Lakers last night. So, those are the two teams that are going to meet in the West Side of the Finals of the NBA Cup. We will get to that. As I mentioned, Jamai Meshack, rookie for the Memphis Grizzlies, former Tennessee Volunteer, is going to join us in studio today as the Grizzlies have another off day before they are back in action tomorrow night at FedEx Forum against the Utah Jazz. Before I get to anything, I welcome John Roser to the show. John Roser aka the cologne ranger, the body spray bisorack, Johnny backpole, Johnny Marcat, the grim roer, John, Johnny carve, John Lance, he’s Dr. Thunder, he’s John the poller, he’s John Sweeney, what up? Congrats on your thunder. Devin Walker’s here. He’s the microphone mangleradilla, Mr. Math 9, the reporter, the photographer. Hey sir is Walker 93. I know we got to talk about our our guy Charles. Before we talk about Charles, I want to give some love to Audi Crooks. You know, you’ve heard Audi Crooks. I know Audi Crooks. Audi Krooks has is doing something that no man or woman has done in I saw it yesterday. 276 points in 20 245 minutes. She on pace to be the second D1 men’s or women’s NBA or WBA player this century. Verno to average at least one point per minute in a single season. Last one to do it was Joel Embiid as MVP season. I saw his her third straight 30point game last night. Uh she is wild to watch too with the fadeaway straight buckets. Shout out Audi. She does not look like the normal basketball player. No, she she does it in unconventional ways. She gets hella buckets. Shout out. All right, so yesterday over we had a wild day. So we had the whole Charles up press conference that was going on. And then by yesterday afternoon all anybody was talking about was the Chiron Moore thing at Michigan which has gotten super crazy and we will get to that as well. But let’s start with Charles. So the University of Memphis’s uh head coach obviously left and went took a job at Arkansas. Everybody then became a coach hiring expert and we had very strong opinions about a myriad of guys that we didn’t even know anything about. And so we much like much like I said I said look uh once upon a time we had to look up Justin Fuente on Wikipedia and that worked out. We had to look up Mike Norll and that worked out. And Ryan Silverfield just moved over in the middle of the Cotton Bowl and then they kept they they let him keep the job and that worked out just fine. And now Charles Huff whose name was out there as a possible candidate for the University of Memphis after his time at Marshall and his time at Southern Miss. uh they hire him and I am always mystified by strong opinions that are uh that are given about what has taken place. And here’s hoping that Charles Huff is able to do what he laid out yesterday. The the people were there, Verno, bro. Yeah, people the people were there, bro. I think that speaks well. It’s the It was the dopest roll out I’ve ever seen for a Memphis football head coach. Really? Yeah. Like like I don’t think they’ve ever done a roll out in that facility the way they did for anybody else. I mean it’s been had been open for that long for for Ryan. He You think they wanted to make it Exactly. make you feel different. Yeah. The band was there. Wow. With like the band like had like a walkway as you walked into the the facility, right? They had uh all the cameras set up. The crowd was there booming. Players were there. Like all like it was at least 30 high school football coaches there. Like bro, it was a great bro. Oh really? Charles brought him out man. Sean Shaw for his first for his first presence. Well, one of the things that I talked about yesterday on the show was my guest and they even used it in the promo video the University of Memphis. I said I bet you’re going to watch it and go, “Let’s go.” Because one of the things that is a huge bonus for a coach, because I’ve seen this happen before, is if they’ve gotten to do that opening press conference before, right? And this guy has two experiences getting to do the opening press conference. The other thing he has experience doing is dealing with the media, right? Like it’s it’s a for guys that have never done it before. There is always the shock of, oh wow, this isn’t just football, right? This is being the face of the program. This is delegating a lot of different roles. This is dealing with the media. This is dealing with the AD. This is dealing with the fan base and the boosters. And then there’s football too, right? Like it is a it’s way more politics, a forward facing job, right? I can only imagine Pete Goldie has to be like, “Oh my god.” Like this is right with everything there. He’s not asked to do anything but football and all of a sudden everybody’s asking him to do everything interviews. So there is an experience that comes along with that. And so yesterday, you know, he is prepared to give answers for everything. And and and and one of the things that I I was impressed by that he kept talking about, and this was what makes you come off so well, is look, I have proof of concept. He He pulled your boy line out. He said, “Google me. I’ve done this.” Yeah. But he says, “I have proof of concept.” So you don’t have to, this doesn’t have to be a fairy tale of what you expect or what things are going to be like. I know how I want things to be. I have done it before. I will do it again. Like that is persuasive, right? And again, we will see if he could do it again. He said, “No offense.” No offense to the other coach, the new coaches in the AAC, but I’ve done this before. I was like, “Oh.” He was like, “Brian,” he was like, “What’s his name?” The one at USF. Oh, Brian Heartland. He was like, “No offense to him.” Yeah, cool. He could He might be the Nick’s next saving, but that’s cool. He hasn’t done it before. I have done this before. Let’s parse through some of this. Uh, this is yesterday. Charles Huff talking about culture. Oh, that’s always a big buzz word when you get hired. We’re not talking about changing a culture that has been losing and talking about winning. We’re talking about closing the gap on the details, right? That this program knows how to win. Um, so that’s not where we’re starting and that’s not just on the field. That’s with the administration. That’s with the, you know, the university. They know how to win. They know how to generate revenue. They know how to generate funds and support. What we’ve got to do is find out how to close that gap. And the gap’s not big. Um, you know, I talk to people all the time, Kobe Bryant doesn’t go in the off season trying to figure out how to shoot a jumper. He went into the offseason trying to figure out how can I play two more minutes in the last game of the year. And that’s what closing the gap is. How can we make those little adjustments to help us get over the hump? You guys know more than me, there’s probably five plays right now that you can think of that if they go another way, it changes the trajectory. Well, those five plays that you saw on Saturday, something happened in the building where we can adjust four or five things that ultimately get us over to hump. I can think of two plays that would have changed everything. Five. I think of two. two and the whole world’s different. Yep. This year. Yeah. He ain’t Look, he’s talking about closing the gap. And one of the things that I have talked about a lot, and this is when Silverfield was getting beat up the worst at the end, is one of the things I have always struggled with, like I am very thrilled that it is a consistently winning program like that has a standard right now. This is the guy that his goal is to take that thing to the next level. I went back and looked since 2020. You know how many teams have a higher winning percentage than the University of Memphis? Ohio State. No, I mean, come on. There’s It’s not like it’s two. I mean, it’s 15. Okay. 15. Have a higher winning percentage. Like in terms of I this is how many games we played, this is how many games we won, and this is how many games we’ve lost. How many in the G5? In the G5, the teams that have a higher winning percentage than Memphis are as follows. James Madison, who is 40 and 10. They’re in the playoff, by the way. Yeah. Uh Boise, yeah, is 51 and 23. Liberty is 51 and 24. So those three. Yep. And Memphis is 50 and 24 with a 68% win percentage. Um 68% of the time they’ve won games. Now what’s crazy is there you look at this and you go, “All right, highest winning percentage since 2020.” And you would be able to list off a lot of Alabama Georgia. Georgia is 73 and8. Yeah, 90%. Yeah, I would say they’re probably number one, aren’t they? Second is Ohio State. Third is Alabama. Fourth is Oregon. Fifth is Notre Dame. Sixth, James Madison. Seventh an open job. Michigan. They are seventh. Yeah. In terms of wins and losses since 2000. Wow. I’m sorry. 2020. 2020. the last five years. Next, right behind Michigan, Old Miss. Okay. Then BYU, Clemson, I think would shock people that they still are that high. Clemson, Texas, SMU, Oklahoma, Boise, Liberty, Iowa, Memphis. Memphis is 16th in the country in terms of win percentage since they’re one ahead of Penn State, which would also surprise people, right? And so again, this is one of those things. It’s been good. So, it’s always hard to go, how much better should it be? And the answer is winning conference championships. That’s the whole deal. Um, want to know what they’re going to look like. So, Charles Huff uh spoke yesterday, for people that have never watched his teams, what kind of style of offense he wants to play. I think if you look around college football, um the teams that are the most successful, um the teams that will be playing late into January, um are some type of spread operation. You can call it air raid, you can call it running gun, you can call it, you know, air lane, whatever you want to call it, right? But it’s some type of spread operation. Um, so that’s the world we’ll be in. Um, obviously there’s a lot of families out there of guys, but it’s all similar when you look at the the guys people want to see points being scored, right? The old days of seven to three and man, that was a great game or gone. Well, you got to spread the ball. You got to spread the field. You got to be able to put space. You got to put our players in space. Got to have players once they get in space to do something with it. I truly believe you have to have a mobile quarterback. He doesn’t have to be Kyler Murray or Lamar Jackson, but he’s got to be able to create, right? So, I don’t want to, you know, you post that and every, you know, pro style quarterback thinks that we’re not recruiting. That’s not what it means. You got to have the ability to create. Um, in today’s game, the D linemen are getting as fast as the linebackers. So, you’re not going to be able to block them all every single time. So, you got to have a guy that can move in the pocket, create, obviously, if he can run, step up and run, that’s a huge advantage. Um, so that’s what we’ll be. We’ll be spread. um try to spread the field as wide as humanly possible. Try to play fast to keep the defense in more of a base, just get lined up, make a base call. Um and try to have a mobile quarterback. Now, mobile quarterback doesn’t mean that we’re going to run it every play with the quarterback, but he’s got to be able to create. He’s got to be able to get out of trouble. Um there’s going to be some defenses um that the only answer is for the quarterback to take off. You know, we got to have a quarterback that’s willing and able to do that because Brayland because the Braxton uh that Braxton kid, Brilen Braxton, Braxton was that he was that dynamic at Marshall and at Southern Miss. Yeah, he’s still got any eligibility. That doesn’t really fit the profile of the kid that we were talking about wanting to stay. Who? AJ. Yeah, he’s not AJ can move. I mean, he’s not a he’s not a mobile quarterback. He can run though. Just cuz he’s 6’5 doesn’t mean he can’t run. He’s not a So I So we saw him. He’s not a runner. Not not he’s not mobile like his kid at Southern Miss wasn’t either though. He was not some running quarterback. Go look at his rushing stats. He’s not some take off and run guy. What he’s also talking about is dude, you’ve got to be able to create outside the pocket. It doesn’t have to mean you take off and run 10 yards down the field. But you’ve got you can’t be Seth Hennean. Seth Henne was like guy like that’s like Nico does. Yeah, right. Nico, Nico, you would say, is a pocket style quarterback, but also on third and eight, he’ll take off and get you nine yards. He can. Yeah. Like AJ AJ can elude like he ain’t no runner, but he can he can, you know what I’m saying? He ain’t he he’ll get shifty like so you can he he fits the profile. AJ or something fits the profile. Well, the other guy’s transferring, right? Or entered the portal. Oh, he already entered the portal. Yeah. Maiden. Yeah, he entered the portal. Just cuz he’s 6’5 doesn’t mean he can’t. He’ll always have that run against Arkansas. I know, right? to win the game. Always have that one. That’s probably going to run on his his huddle on repeat. That’s what he’s sending to get him in the portal. What did Charles Huff think about the Memphis program from the outside looking in? Yeah. Um on the outside looking in, this is like this is the homecoming queen, man. I’m being completely honest. If you’re on the outside looking in, it’s like Memphis has all the resources, all the facilities, all the talent, all the backing from the community. I wish we had that to be completely honest. And obviously, um, you know, just like the homecoming queen, she may have bad breath when you get really close to her and there may be some things that you you got to work through, but from the outside looking in, man, it’s the homecoming queen. It it’s it’s the one you want. Um, it’s the one you want to be a part of. um the the the stability and support. I think again as as you know, as much as we all want to win a championship, the consistency that has been done, it’s hard to win eight and nine games. Obviously, the expectation is to get over the hump and close the gap, but it’s hard to do that year out year in and year out. Um Memphis has been able to do that with multiple head coaches. You know, I got a lot of respect. I don’t know, um you know, coach Silverfield personally, but a lot of respect for him. I don’t know coach Norville personally, but a lot of respect for him. I don’t know uh coach Fuente personally, but a lot of respect for them because I know how hard it is to win 7 8 n 7 8 n games. Um and they’ve been able to do it. Um but when you look at that and all of a sudden the coach changes, the consistency and winning stays. The coach changes, consistency and winning stays. All of a sudden now you’re starting to say, “Great coach, unbelievable university and support.” I thought that I thought that that was really good. Yeah, especially from a guy that you know I mean that’s a guy that has sat around and this is what a lot of coaches at the at smaller schools do. It it also sets you apart from the marshals and the southern misses of the world right when we have talked about not being invited to the big parties meaning the power conferences. Yeah. Yeah. They are viewed by those on the outside looking in as a step above the others, right? Like we’re not, you remember when I was talking about the Grizzlies the other day and I said, “Look, we ain’t we ain’t with the rat teams, we’re not with the best teams right now, right? Like we have proven. You bring a rat team in here, they’ll lose, right? But we got to be and I think that right now Memphis is right there where it’s like if you’re not if you if you haven’t been invited to that party just just yet. You look at it, I think, from the outside and guys that are at Marshalls and the Southern Misses, they look at Memphis and they go, “Wow, if I had those resources because Memphis has a greater commitment and that makes you feel so good about us. What’s the way people talk about Memphis?” So, because they have a greater commitment to being good at sports and you look at the like a school who’s like the prominent when you look like who’s been the head of the G5 schools forever, it’s been like a Boise State. Yep. Well, like prior to Bo, like when Boise State first got they went two and 10, five and six, six and five, and then in the early 2000s, late 90s, they started taking off, and now it’s been under several different coaches. They’ve been able to maintain that success. Yeah, I’m with it. I’m with uh fans and attendance. What does, uh, Charles have to say about this? One of my favorite answers right here. Again, coach Hardaway said it best. Um, people come to see people they’re connected to. So what has happened over time because of the transfer portal, fans are not as connected to the players. So to me that’s where the staff, the coaches have to step up. Um fans have to have a connection to the administration, to the staff, and then they build that connection with the players. It’s going to be a new set of players every year. I just met a guy that said he’s been to likeund like 95 straight games. Well, he ain’t probably don’t even remember the players names because they changed every year the last 5 years. So, my job is to love this city enough to where they know me. Love this city enough to where me and my wife go out and people feel like, “Hey, that’s Coach Huff. I can walk up and say hello and I know that he’s going to talk to me like a human and not like he’s a robot.” Uh, my job is to love this city enough to where they’re coming to support me through the players, if that makes sense. And and and I say me, don’t not putting light on me, but hey, I know Coach Huff, so I’m going to go watch the Tigers. If that’s the response that we get and we can fill the stadium with that, um, that’s great. But it starts with me. It starts with me loving this city. It starts with my family getting out in this city. Um, it starts with the other part of it is you you got to be got to be real. you know, people have a connection with real people. Um, I tell people all the time, when you go to a family reunion, you don’t say, “Hey, family.” It’s a feel. So, people have to feel that you’re genuine. People have to feel um that you’re real. And that’s my job. And I’ve got work to do just as much as we’ve got to get the roster right and, you know, make a transition with, you know, personnel. Um, I I’ve got to I’ve got to love this city. And and I understand that. It is an interesting sales job that has to take place because and he understands it though. Yeah. I mean basically and honestly you know what it makes you think of when you’re watching that that you should have that that the trick basketball-wise is to a lower the ticket prices but b make the Penny Hardaway thing what you’re coming to support. Right. is that you know I mean and Penny’s not going to be out and about and doing all I mean he’s not going to be but you have to have again as he said people are going to want to root for who they feel connected to and in the absence of being connected to players because you’re not going to feel like you know them or know much about them when everything is so transactional but the coach if you ride for the coach you going to be in that liberty ball state and ride for coach Huff right I want support coach of it’s it’s a hard sell though. It’s hard to do. It’s hard. But people don’t honestly people don’t buy tickets to watch people coach. No. Right. But you play but if you play exciting football then you know that’s it. If you just in and out in and out you playing exciting football. The part two I don’t know if y’all the clip came through but they asked him about like the first like his first recruiting like what he’s going to focus on when he said the Dline. We’ll get to it. We’ll get to it. Oh get to that. I was like we get to the trenches baby. Yeah. We got a bunch of clips. Yeah. He talked about scheduling. Oh yeah, that’s my question Devin’s question. That’s my question. Yeah, again I I spot the ball, I’ll play you anywhere. I think Dr. Scott has has a very good knowledge of that. Um and if there’s a there’s a um there’s a lot that goes into that. If you’re trying to get into the college football playoffs, you can’t just keep playing uh Hampton University where I went to school. That’s the reality of it. That’s no disrespect. You you can’t you got to you got to stretch yourself out a little bit. You got to put yourself in position that when they have that meeting on, you know, championship weekend, one, hopefully you’re in the game. And then two, you win the game. And then three, if you’re not in the game, your schedule strength gives you the ability to try to get in. So, um, there there’s a fine balance. You know, I think, you know, Dr. Scott understands that. Um, if he ever asked my opinion, I think there is an opinion as far as how is it affect the team, not who we play, if that makes sense. How does it affect the team that we have to um you know play a Thursday night game, turn around, play a Saturday game? How does it affect the team that we get a by-week early in the season versus late in the season? Who we play? I mean, they got the same they got 85 guys, they can run a football play. Um we’re not we’re not running from anyone. I think if you want to get in that conversation, we say we want to be in the playoffs. They going to put us against Georgia. They’re going to put us against Oregon. So why would we run from anyone during the regular season to prepare us for that? So there’s a lot that goes into it. I know sometimes you you know you you wonder why these scheduling things happen. Um and then the other thing some of these schedules are made to 2048. Yeah, it’s it’s it’s hard now especially when the SEC moving to nine games. I mean it’s really going to be like what’s that Arkansas replacement because that’s on the docket and it’s like they’re going to bail on the Williams kids for real. Huh. Williams kids already got schedules on the on the Yeah, I know. But they’re going to bail. Somebody like Arkansas. May you know what? Maybe maybe Silverfield will be like, “No, I want to play.” Do you know who we might be able to play? If the story is true, maybe you could get Notre Dame on the schedule. Like if you want to play one of those, here’s what Do you see the story that that some of these teams are like threatening, okay, Notre Dame, we just won’t schedule you if you’re not going to join one of our conferences. We’re just not going to schedule you. Hey, bring the Chrome Notre Dame. We’ll play Bring the Chrome Jones to to the end, bro. Charles Huff already beat you once. He can do it again. He He knows what the You say the SEC is moving to nine moving to nine conference games. You know that’s going to be happening with the other conferences that have like the scheduling does get trickier. You’ve got to be more creative with it. All right. This is uh Charles Huff on team building. Yeah. Um when I worked for coach Sabin uh we had a very strict parameter by position um heightweight size character at every position. Um, he taught me in order to win games, you need a defensive line. If you got a defensive line, you can stop the run. You’re going to win games. If you want to win a championship, you need a defensive line and a quarterback. And the toughest thing to do in today’s world of portal is you got to pick the right one. And 10 years ago, maybe he developed. You know, I watched M. Jones on the scout field for two years. So when he got into the national championship, I had known what he could do. Well, some of these guys we going to get we’re not going to get to watch. We’re going to have to watch film. We’re going to have to watch a throwin session. So we may get him here and we don’t know what they can do. So what we’ve got to be able to do as coaches is adapt, right? There’s no need me telling you, oh, we thought he was going to be a good quarterback and he’s not, so this year is over. No, we got to adapt. Um, but we got to attack the Dline because you’ve got to be able to stop the run. Um, we’ve got to go get a quarterback and then we’ve got to go get juice on the edge. That that’s that’s what we got to do. Some of that’s here already, some of that’s not. Um, some of that may stay, some of that may not stay. And and I’m saying this because I don’t want you guys I I haven’t talked to any of them, so I don’t know. Um, just as as you know, much as I’m standing up here, there’s there’s their head coach that’s standing somewhere else, you know, and maybe that relationship over time makes them make a different decision. I’m not saying they’re all going to Arkansas, but there’s relationships involved in this. So, you got to have a D line, you got to have a quarterback, and you got to have some juice. If we can get that, the other pieces, you know, O line’s important, but again, the mobility of the quarterback can disguise some of those deficiencies. Um, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying we don’t need O line, but when you talk about order, you got to have a Dline, you got to have a quarterback, you got to have juice on the perimeter. It’s an old Bichc thing. So I mean if you ever watch that old Bellich Sabin thing and obviously Sabin learned at the feet of Bellich all the way back to Cleveland and they’re like thickest thieves and I mean the idea is right uh that that the reason I say that is because I read that book years ago about the Patriots and how they built that thing up and their scouting is exactly like that, right? Like they have a here is the type of player we want here, here, right? You know what I mean? like it is super detailed, right? Like here we are trying to find this type of player that can do this type of thing and that’s how it will fit with the rest of the group. To his point on the defensive line, the literally the most expensive defensive line. Texas Tech went out and spent $7 million on their defensive line. Brought in one, two, three, four, five players on the defensive line. They lead the nation in pressures without blitzing. They have forced the most fumbles in college football this year on the defensive line and they have the number one run defense. Them trenches, bro. You get the trenches right, you good. You already know he going to coach up the running back cuz he has, you know, his lineage goes far. So, running backs will be all right. Asked about all the conference talk. Yeah, I think it’s wide open and no disrespect of the schools that change. I think we’ve picked the best head coach and my track record says it. I don’t know Brian Hartline. I love him. Great, great, great. He’s a zero and zero as a head coach. He may be the next Nick Sabin, but we don’t know the other guys that have been hired. Just check the records. That’s why we keep records. That’s why you guys write. And I’m not knocking anyone. And make sure you write that, too, because you guys will clip that. and you’ll put that in the in the header and it’ll be coach Huff took a shot at Hart Line or Coach Huff took a shot at somebody. I’m not saying that. I’m just saying just look at the record. Coach Signetti said it best. Google me. And I’m not saying that in a cocky. I’m saying that because my product is proven as you know this this is this is like Coke. This is like Pepsi. Bro, when he said this is like Coke and Paws, it was like we looked at each other, me and Colin from channel 3, when he said coke, I was like, and then he added, okay, okay, that’s what you not going where I think he’s going. He’s not because he was using the word product and yeah, I like the I like the answer of though like these other guys are zero and zero. I have proven I can win football games. Yeah, brother. That’s all he’s trying to say. Yeah. Also, honestly, like look, they I know you said there was a bunch of pomp and circumstance and it was a big deal and they rolled them all out there. Whatever. Somebody should have given him the blue tie. What kind of tie are you wearing? The power blue. Yeah, they should have given him They should have given him the blue tie. The big tiger blue tie. That should have been the first thing as soon as he got out of the car. We can’t The tiger blue tie. Yeah, we can’t come in the Oakland Raiders tie. Come on. Not the Oakland Raiders jersey, I think. Is it blue and gray? Hey, let me play. Let me see the black and gray. Play. Give me a screenshot, Joe. It’s blue. Am I wrong? Are you color blind? Are you color blind? Hold on. Yeah, it’s blue and gray, bro. Yeah. Color blind ass. I can’t see. Blue and gray. It’s my screen in front of me. I see it. It looks blue over here. Blue and gray, bro. It’s a tint problem. I apologize. I make sure, bro. Good job by that blue and gray. Yeah. Come on now. You got the the school colors right. You may have heard he uh learned from Nick S. consistency in your approach. Um, you know, consistency in what you do, whether that’s off season, you know, spring ball, the consistency, and then the discipline and accountability. He’s the most disciplined man I’ve ever I’ve ever been around. He wears the same color pants every day. He wears black pants on Monday, blue pants on Tuesday, gray pants on Wednesday. You think I’m joking? I’m dead serious. Like, he eats lunch at the same time. He eats breakfast at the same time. He shows up to work at 7:22 every single day. I don’t know how he doesn’t miss a light. Like every single day, but and I’m being dead serious. At 7:22, you can hear his shoes coming down the hallway. So, the consistency in him ultimately trickled into the consistency in the program, the discipline in him for him to show. Think about how disciplined you have to be to show up at work at the same exact time every single day. Think about that. like not well I stopped to get coffee or I left 3 minutes late like the discipline right so that means you have to wake up the same time it means you got to shower it takes you the same time to shave it all of those things um and that carried into the program the consistency in how he does things consistency in recruiting we’re not recruiting a guy that’s outside the parameters because he’s a good player he’s got to be inside the parameters all of those things consistency and discipline is what created such a sustainable success model for so long the best it’s ever been. It’ll never be topped. And I’m saying that standing here, you know, instill in the it’ll never be topped because of the change in college football, if that makes sense. But those would be the main things I learned. Extreme consistency and approach and then the discipline to have a routine that you stick to. All right. By the way, uh that screen that’s in front of me, this screen and this screen, we had three different screens in here. It was blue and gray on the other two screens. That That’s crazy. You No was You are color blind. Or either you can’t see or you apologize to coach Huff. He did have a blue and gray tie. He did. I still I actually don’t I don’t even apologize. I think the power tiger blue would look better. Tiger blue tie. Power tiger. You say power tiger. Are you making up colors? Power tiger. So So look, obviously we played those clips that were from this and and got a better uh grasp of who this guy is. Um like and we left out the enormous he talked about how long was this that John was forever seriously. It was like 35 40 minutes long. Was it really? Yeah. And then as Scott talked afterwards for like 20 minutes. Oh my gosh. About what? about everything about what went into the hire about uh that whole story about how Charles Huff was asleep when the story was leaked to the whole world that he was hired at the University of Memphis and he didn’t know he had been hired at the University of Memphis was just downright bizarre confusing. Yes. What? At least he apologized before he told the story. It was just a bizarre story. He also What? Yeah, there’s an Yeah, it is. It’s either either it’s either he’s capping or or why would Ed Scott mess with him like that? Like why are you messing with somebody like that? Or why would you tell why would you call all the reporters and tell them you’ve hired Charles Huff before you told Charles Huff? Yeah, right. Yeah, that’s true. All of it is bizarre. It’s strange. But look, bro, it was a long press conference. It was a lot going on. Yeah, it seemed like it Look, bro, I had looked at my clock. I was like, “Yo, I’m hungry. I’m looked up. It was an hour and a half later. I was like, did they do a photo session together afterwards?” Uh, they did not, Roser. Uh, they did not do a photo session after I did. Ed Scott did say though. He said they didn’t just Ed Scott did. Okay. Did a couple of things. A couple of things by himself. By himself. A couple of things that were not answered in that. Did he talk about who he’s bringing on and whether or not staff wise? Yeah. Staff and player-wise. So, he said he has not talked to the He has said he has not talked to any of the roster yet. Yeah. The current roster. He did say that. He said, “I have not talked to any of the current roster.” He said, “I will I what I want.” Somebody say, “Are you bringing all your good players from Southern Miss?” Right. He said, “What I want is that what happened? I’m going to let them He said, “I’m going to let them ride it out with the with the ball game. I’m not going to touch anything. Let them play the last game of the ball game, then we’ll evaluate after that.” Well, he did take most of them from Marshall. He took like the offense was from Marshall. Yeah, he took he brought a ton of guys from Marshall to Southern. Well, obviously the Sutton Smiths of the world and guys like that are obviously guys you want to I mean, Greg Deorceier, I need them back. You want to hold these You want to hold on to these guys. But I think those dudes like that, I feel like I would hope you see a dude like Charles Huff who has coached Saquon Barkley. Yeah. Who has coached N like dudes that have been in the league and you want to get to that point. So why not stay and be under, you know what I’m saying, right? Coach Huff and his tutelage. So what did he say about staff? Uh he didn’t say anything about staff. I know. He didn’t talk about staff. He didn’t talk about staff and he didn’t talk about players. I thought he talked about players. He talked about the player thing. He didn’t talk about staff. He just said he was going to let it ride out after the bowl game. I’m going to let He said, “I’ve not talked to any of the players yet. I’m going to evaluate the bowl game and then we’re going to handle stuff after that. He did talk about how he uh the I’m dead serious. The clip was like almost four minutes long, so that’s why we didn’t use it. But he was asked about why he like who he looked up to and learned from and he talked about that was a long story. Long dude, long my dad was a woman’s basketball coach at Delaware State and I’ve learned this and I’ve learned that. I used to like it it was a long He basically said he saw his dad. He’s like I as a kid I used to be at my dad’s basketball practice. He goes, “I thought the whistle was like magic.” Yeah. He’s like, “I could make he could make his kids do anything by blowing the whistle. They would start, they would stop, they would do this, they would do that.” And he said he just saw how his dad was was able to affect young people’s lives and how he that’s why he wanted Do we know anything except for the kid that played quarterback Arrington Maiden? Like has anybody else failed on the bowl or you know what I’m saying? I haven’t seen anybody else. I will say we will find out because that number did go from uh that number did flip like crazy spread-wise. Oh, really? Yeah. So, we going to find out when everybody actually they got bowl practice. They got they got me media today. So, see how many are leaving. See how many are sticking around. Belu’s Bel is talking today. So, he’ll be there. Okay. Uh but we’ll that number flipped like crazy for the bowl game. Let me see what the number is right now. it is uh and usually that is usually that is an indicator. Yeah. So, we’ll see that that guys are either going to bail on it, not play in it or entering the transfer portal. But the reason I ask is the only thing that we’ve heard about the transfer portal is Maiden. And that’s I’m literally at on three right now on three’s website. That’s all they have in portal is all they have. Well, I mean, you do have to like that is that is something you have to declare. Dude, that is not right. You know what I’m saying? So it is kind of odd that you know I mean usually when a coach leaves you have a mass amount of guys. I think that’s awesome that you haven’t. Yeah. Yeah. That you have not had a bunch of guys probably sticking it out that are that are like let’s see who the coach is and let’s see what they got to say. But to be honest with I think cuz he probably going to boost some folks out of there. Yeah he will. He’s going to want to play role. Well, sure. Everybody because I would imagine if you’re keeping like D. Roier Sutton Smith, dude, those guys are going to cost money. And from what he sounds like, it doesn’t sound like he really values the running back position as much as like he may be maybe you keep one of them, but you don’t keep both of them because I’m going to go spend the money elsewhere cuz I value these positions. You also you also don’t know what kind of deals they have. No, you don’t. They may have multi-year. They might. You know what I mean? Yeah. Like I mean, they might have multi-year deals and that’s why they got locked in in the first place. Yeah. in order to be there. All right. So, look, I think the guy did was a great first impression. I will say the another thing, too, that I know that like people That’s a serious dude who has answered his biggest thing, too. I think one of the answers he said was he said like, “Yeah, obviously I want to win games. We want to champ win championships, wins, losses, whatever. Cool.” He said, “Oh, that’s cool. All that’s fine.” And he said, “Being here in Memphis, when you like look at the city and everything else, the economic impact you can make by winning at the University of Memphis is crazy.” And I was like, “Hold on. Where are you getting these?” He’s like, “If we’re winning and then Penny’s winning and then the Grizzlies are winning, this city is jumping.” Yeah, that’s true. And he was like, “There’s so many things.” He’s like, “I’ve never been in a city like like college.” He’s like, “Do you use I’m the place I was coaching. It’s like little college towns, whether it was Marshall or something.” He was like, “Memphis is a place where it’s a city.” Oh, it could have had a massive impact. Look, look, he was talking about if they wouldn’t if they wouldn’t have blown it against UAB, we could have I mean, outside of they’re probably going to Vanderbilt anyway, but it was in the final two for getting College Game Day here again. I mean, that’s how that’s how the season was going. It was going to be Memphis versus South Florida and College Game Day because it’s a two the best group of five game that’s going on. Now, it just so happened nobody expected Vanderbilt to be hitting the run they did, so they ended up at Vanderbilt. But honestly, like that was like a thing that everybody was talking about. Where is game day going to be next? And it was either going to be in Memphis or Nashville. And he talked about he talked about even like the you know the university enrollment. He’s like you know look at what when Nick Sabin look at the enrollment numbers at the University of Alabama during Tuscaloosa these are like these are small cities. He’s like just imagine in Memphis Tennessee like spitting bro. We saw it with Caliperry spitting. The enrollment at the University of Memphis went up big time when Caliperry had it rocking. And I love the fact he said it’s not even about the football stuff. He’s like, “Bro, I want everybody that works in this program, whether it’s players or the staff or the support staff, when you leave this place, I want you to be a better human.” And I like coaches say that, you know what I’m saying? But I think when you just listen to them talk, I think he genuinely like means that [ __ ] you know? Makes you feel a lot better about the future of the program to hear to hear him yesterday. No. And he was also like he’s a really good press conference coach. Hey, no paper, bro. He’s really good. No notes. No notes. I mean, he’s a good press conference coach. What What’ you say? What’ you say in my comments? He ate no crumbs. And you can also tell You could tell how comfortable the coach is. He ate no crumbs. FR. You can tell by how he drinks the water, too. That guy pulled out the water. Yeah, he pulled out. He professional water drinker. You can see if their hands are shaking a little bit. Professional. Hand was not shaking at all. Hand was not shaking at all. No. It does a little look. If you know, you know. If you know, you know, man. If you know, you know. 80 89. That’s what my daughter said to me this morning. Numb numbers, bro. You got to hit her with I think it was 89. And I said I said that’s not even a thing. She goes, “You don’t know. Boomer.” She said, “Boomer.” Boomer. I’m not a boomer. You hit her with 1738. She called me a Ketty. Yeah. Hit her with Tell her. Yeah. Yeah. Tell her 1738. She said something. It’s a different number every day. I’m like, I can’t keep up. I said, “That’s not even a thing, Haley.” She goes, “You don’t know.” Boomer. Boomer. Boomer. Boomer’s crazy. You’re kind of a Boomer. No, I’m from Gen Z. No, you’re not from Jinzi. It’s not Gen Z. You’re not Jen Z. No, you’re not Gen Z, bro. I am Jen Z. No, you’re not. When were you born? What are you talking about? Where were you born? 1978. What? What am I? Generation. Gen Z is 1997 to 2012. What am I? What am I? What? Generation. What am I? I can’t remember. Is she alpha? I think she’s alpha. I can’t remember. This man call himself Jinzy. Generation X, bro. X. Gen X. That’s right. Yeah, I am Gen X. You’re rolling the alphabet. I’m millennial because Hey, cuz I said this to her. Oh, degeneration. I’m not a boomer. Degeneration. Like, what the hell is this man doing? You’re not a boomer. He called you a boomer. I dare you. All right, the Shiron Moore thing takes place yesterday. Chiron Moore. Oh my god, I lost it all, man. But nobody knows what is true and what is not yet. And uh Pete Daml was on this morning with uh with Pat McAfee. And Pat McAfee was like bringing up and and I look I love Pat, but I mean like I couldn’t believe he was like bringing up all the stuff that’s like been on the internet. He was like, “What about this?” He’s like, he’s like he’s like, “What?” And he’s got in trouble for doing and he was like he’s like he’s like, “What’s all this stuff about him, you know, possibly like, you know, being suicidal and like, you know, going to you know, threatening to kill somebody like whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. Like we don’t know. And so what Taml was saying um what Taml was saying was that there is like the only thing we know is what has been on the record reported right so you got to kind of stay away from every like there’s an awareness that everybody’s talking about like my dad is a donor and I know this and everybody knows something right and then the stories just like you know catch like wildfire on the internet and then people are like Bro, did you hear he got this chick pregnant? And then I don’t know. I don’t know what’s true and what’s not when it deals with this guy’s story except for the following. He had an inappropriate relationship. We know that. That is like fact. Facts. Yes. Okay. That’s fact. We also know that he was taken into custody yesterday for what they said was a they responded to an alleged assault. Okay, so that’s what they know. And then what happens is the internet fills in all of the blanks or attempts to. And you don’t know whether or not that’s so or not. Um, I did see somebody put up this morning and this one seems reasonable. That’s why I’m saying it. Said that here’s the like current kind of timeline. So, if you go back what from what you’re gathering here is that he like this started like with a subordinate sometime in 2024. risk illicit affair as it were with a with a with a with an employee. And then this is again not uh full-on fact but what is supposed took place because people have been talking about this for some amount of time. So, the idea is the guy was like having this affair and that Michigan like knew about it during the spring and the summer and then they ask him and of course, what are they going to say? It’s not true. And so then they just do nothing. They just save it for later. And then he proves to not be that good of a head coach and he loses to Ohio State. And then they claim they started an investigation in mid- November even though everybody’s kind of been scuttlebutting about this for a long time. And so then there’s powerful people there that want the guy fired and then they want to keep their best recruits. And so they stay quiet through National Signing Day and all that kind of stuff. And then a week after National Signing Day, they finally then do this and get rid of him for cause so they don’t have to pay his buyout. And then they have everybody going out there saying like here’s what was going on and whatever else. And they put out that statement and then their best recruits and players, they can’t leave until 5 days after the new coach is named. So now you go and try to hit a big one and keep the program intact. Yeah. Right. So that it doesn’t destroy that. It’s all very convoluted, right? Like the whole like when did you know that this was like there are some that because there was a lot of people out there. This is what was kind of annoying. There was one there was a lot of people out there last like oh yeah this has kind of been a rumor for a long time. Like what? Everybody knew but everybody didn’t. So, the idea is, and that one actually kind of like lines up, right? Doesn’t that feel kind of right? Like they they said, “Hey, is there something to this coach?” And then he’s like, “No, man. What are you talking about?” Right? But then they’re like, as soon as the guy goes 9 and3 and loses to Ohio State, they’re like, “Hey, what about that uh that that raise you got that that 54% raise she got out of nowhere, right? She went from 58,000 to 90,000 in a year. You know anything about that? That is and and freaky frog, man. and and like she was getting paid 55 grand and then it went up to like 90 grand or something. I did see that and then there are like all of these like she was pregnant and he took care of that and it’s like I who knows what is so and what is not. We do know that that the internet’s a weird place, man, because that yesterday went from everybody making their jokey jokes to oh my god, like within an hour and a half, that story turned so quick to where all the memes and all the everything is like people just, you know, Steph just making jokes, right, about the whole thing and then it’s like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. what just happened here because then there are and you don’t know what is true and what is not. Yeah. Like threats of assault, threats of killing people, threats of killing himself. It’s like is all that right? And look, all I can go by is the people that are reporting on this and Pete Daml and Dan Wetzel were on it from the very beginning and nobody has any details and then they said that none of the details are going to come out until his arraignment tomorrow in the afternoon. So, we’re doing the Friday afternoon news dump for the arraignment. Oh, yeah. like how it is kind of bizarre that the guy was arrested yesterday with an alleged assault and nobody knows the charges and nobody knows what’s going on and nobody’s going to know anything today and nobody’s going to know anything tomorrow until the afternoon. Like you think people keep getting these jokes off you would get in front of it, right? What is going on? Yeah. Like how? But I’m saying like how do we not know what he was arrested for or why he was in custody or like outside of I would just think that there would be some quelling of the internet going crazy on this, right? Cuz everybody’s just filling in the blanks and then you don’t know what’s true and what’s not. The only things we know are true or that the guy had an affair and then within an hour’s time it was that he had been arrested and it was like whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. I mean, what it made it sound like is they told Sheromore he was fired and he went on a rampage. That’s what it sounded like. He crashed. That’s how it crashed. Isn’t that how that’s how it came off when you’re reading it on the internet and then you went to her it’s like you ruined my life blah blah blah. You don’t know. We don’t know. Yeah. We don’t know. Got in a fight with his wife. That’s in my head. If my head I’m playing it out like a like a Tyler Perry do a guy got fired and then crashed out. You crashed out. you you because it was like we got the news that he had been fired and there was an inappropriate relationship and then within an hour and a half it was that he’s been arrested cuz he broke into the he broke into the chick’s house. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Yeah, he broke into the girl’s house saying like, “What is going on?” You ruined my life type thing with a knife or something. I saw that, too. He ruin He broke into his house with a knife. Yeah, that’s that’s a crazy the crazy thing about all of this is that the internet has all manner of details, but there have been no details from people that actually have to be truthful. Yeah, cuz there’s mug shots out there. There’s mug shots out there and it just says assault. Yeah, alleged assault. Yeah, alleged, right? That’s what they say he was taken into custody for. But then the beginning it was like he was taken into at first it sounded like protective custody as if to protect him from himself. Yeah. And then it turned into oh no he did something dastardly. And it’s like what is going on? Seriously, what what just happened here? Yeah. And it sounded like again all we could do is speculate. Um, and you don’t have to speculate much to know. The guy got fired and then there was some kind of crash out. Yeah. Now, the details we don’t know. Freaky Frog Hall of Famer. But my god, what an insane story. And then what a time, you know, the first thing that came to my mind because uh these guys from like Bet Online will email me all the time. anytime something comes up. Anytime something comes up, they they’re always the one like cuz they’re offshore, they post lines on everything, right? Everything. So like it’ll like the Giannis thing will happen. Giannis deletes his Instagram, right? And then by the next morning, this guy Jimmy Shapiro, uh, who I’m on his email list and have been for years, he’ll send me like, “Hey, Chris, thought you’d be interested in this. Bet Online is posted. Who will Giannis play the most minutes for post whatever.” And it’s like always immediate, right? Like they and they they do it so they could get some pub. Yeah. Right. Yeah. They sent it to me last night like immediately. Who’s do you know who was number who was on their odds for the Michigan list? Kaylin Dbor. Dor. Oh wow. Which the first thing that ran through my mind was this could end up being the funniest thing ever. If Dbor goes to Michigan and Lane Kein goes to Alabama. That’s crazy. Play musical chairs again. What would be funnier than that? Yeah. And then LSU and Alabama or I’m sorry LSU and Old Miss in unison and Tennessee already hates him. Like it’d be unbelievable. And Mississippi State and Mississippi State hates him. I mean you would have everybody hating him. There’s no way Kein would just leave LSU right now. Not not this early. He’d just wait because that Alabama job will come open because who is Bama going to hire? that if if the board left Alabama, Alabama’s going to be open again in like three years because there’s nobody they can hire right now, dude. Unless they go get like John Gruden or something. The ones that they the ones that they sent to me this morning um when uh I was I’m just Why is the Kalin D’ore thing happening? Jesse Mentor, Joe Brady. Jesse Mentor was horrible defensive coordinator. Jed Fish. Yeah, Jedish. Jedfish. Yeah, Jedfish. Tim Fisher was a guy that was at Arizona. Kenny Dillingham’s on here. Jeff Braun, Lincoln Riley, those are all nine to one. Bro, Michigan fans would hate Lincoln Riley. Braun Dball 10 to1. Dan Mullen 10 to1. Marcus Freeman 12 to1. No way. Yeah, that Michigan job is like one of the great jobs in the country. Yes, bro. It is true. That Michigan job is What did I What did I say in the earlier when I was telling you Memphis was 16th? What were they? Seventh. Seven. Bro, Michigan is a great team. The only teams that have had a higher winning percentage since 2020 than Michigan are James Madison, Notre Dame, Oregon, Bama, Ohio State, and Georgia. And Michigan has um they have uh Larry Ellison’s wife. She’s the one who ponyied up for Bryce Underwood. But I think Bryce took, by the way, speaking of the the slle the internet slleuth one, they’ve they went on Bryce’s Instagram. He took Michigan out of his bio. Mhm. Number two, they went on Shawn Moore’s Instagram and went to his following and they were like, “Yep, we got him.” Oh, is he freaky? Freaky who he follow Instagram, bro. The freakiest Instagram following, bro. Lot of random hot chick. Number one, Shan Moore. Two, Gary Parish. Freakiest Instagram following out there. Really? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. His Instagram following is freaking a lot of chicks. And a lot of chicks like missing and one of them. And one of them Yeah. It was like I saw they they were like, “If he if he was with her, then that’s weird.” Instagram pictures of her in like lingerie. Like there’s a photo of her like wearing a Michigan jacket at a Michigan game. It’s like they’re like, “If you did it with this one, we all right.” But uh Yeah. Unless it’s AI. Could be. Yeah. Sean. Yeah. You’re going to be Matt Barnes. Like could be Yeah. Could be Matt Barnes. So he was So he was looking he was algorithm was disgustingly freaky. Yeah. Wow. I want to see his real. So Okay. So people thought they put two and two together and they’re like, “Yep, this checks out.” He did that. Okay. He did. This guy This guy’s a true hornball. An un unrepentant hornball. Like the graphic said, horny and arrested. Horny and arrested. The craziest graphic. What a story. People got to get stop. People got to stop getting fired for being horny, bro. Y’all got to be horny. And here’s the thing. Does he keep his job? If he wins, beats Ohio State. If he beats Ohio State, is this out? No. No. I uh Yeah, I think it is out. Yeah. I no because apparently there are people who have known about this. If he beat Ohio State, I said, “Yeah, it’s out.” No. You know how this goes, bro? They kept it They kept it quiet. Look, you you think they just found it out? He still beat them twice. No. Do you think they just found it out? Come on, bro. No, I think this has been built. No, no, no. Do you think when do you think they knew about him and his Well, there’s some stuff out there that says agents have known for three weeks that Shiron Moore is getting fired. Let’s have a ser like Let’s have a serious conversation. We y’all all been around our coaches before. College football coaches. Yes. Right. This ain’t the first time this happened, bro. Oh, I mean, look, they miss was doing release the lane file. That’s what I’m saying, bro. He’s he’s DMing chicks about going to hot yoga. Yeah, he got he on Snapchat asking girls for Snapchat, but because Lane was winning, it’s all good. But I’m just saying, bro. I’m just saying this ain’t the first time somebody got freaky with I disagree. I I think it does not come out if he beats Ohio State. Yeah, I think it does. It’s too much to take. We got to take a quick break. We’ll be back into this. Chris show the heaviest metal credit card of all time. Rumored to be one of only 18 in existence. Hey, Mr. 100% by the way, you were two for two in your NBA career. 100%. Yep. You know, I’m proud to say it. Proud to say it. You’ve taken two shots and you’ve made them. So obviously expectations are very very high for when you shoot next. Yeah, I’m okay with that. I love expectations. I love expectations. All right, so the last time we got to catch up with you, like you were just getting into the mix. You were at summer league and so let’s go from summer league up to now. What has life been like as you transition from and yours is like a real transition, right? A lot of these guys bounced around from college to college and city to city. Like you went from living in a city, playing on a basketball team for four years. So, this has got to have been a big big change for you. So, how has it gone thus far? It’s been honestly it’s been uh it’s been kind of crazy and hectic, but it’s been been I think challenging for me to try and get used to everything happening so fast. But honestly, it kind of reminds me of when I went from California to the University of Tennessee from my high school to to college. It was kind of the a little bit the same situation, you know, having to deal with so many changes, not being around my parents, um dealing with a whole new system in college, dealing with new coaches, new slang, everything like everything was different. Um it was kind of the same way coming over here, you know, it’s besides the cultural part, which is kind of the same. It’s uh been an adjustment, you know, with the NBA stuff, just how stuff is ran, how stuff is processed, um what they expect of you and stuff like that, and just, you know, everything that goes into it. How much different is West Tennessee than East Tennessee? I to I’m not gonna lie. From somebody that’s from there, they’re probably like, “Man, it’s a lot of differences.” I’m from California, so it’s a lot of the same things. Everybody says buggies when they talking about going to the the the mall. I mean, the uh the store and stuff that I had to get used to that. Buggies. Buggies. What are y’all saying in Cali? Uh carts. Grocery cart. Go get the cart. You’re right. You’re right. Somebody said go get the buggy. I said, “What are you talking about, bro?” I was that that had me totally off guard. But, uh, I think I think besides that, like I mean, it’s been a it’s been a pretty cool adjustment. I think they’re kind of the same. They’re kind of similar. Everybody over here is nice, just like everybody over there uh in Knoxville is super nice, too. Um, I think the food over here I’m starting to get, you know, more food spots trying to trying to where, you know, Knoxville I had a good, you know, little system over there. But um everything else is kind of kind of the same. You you can say it, bro. There’s only like two places to eat in Knoxville. That’s fine. I’m a I’m a big chain guy, so I was getting Canes, Chick-fil-A, uh you know, a lot of the P I was getting some Panda Express sometimes. Um Yeah. Yeah. What you eating here? Kind of the same things. Not Not going to lie. Kind of same thing. I was like, we got like Panda Express and Kes. We got more of them. We got more of them. Yeah, for sure. I I am just trying places though. like um there was a burrito spot that I went to. I can’t remember the the name exactly of it, but that was nice. Um I’m just trying different stuff. I’m just bad with remembering the names of places. All right. Tell me about being a rookie in the NBA. What has that been like so far in terms of your actual job, man? I mean, it’s it’s that’s also another another adjustment. I think the coolest part is um you know, having a class with you that’s they’re all rookies. So if you go to NBA game, you kind of know a lot of the guys that are rookies there because you went through that process of draft workouts, playing against them, playing against them in college and stuff. So I think it’s cool to have that uh camaraderie. Um and then at the same time, you got two other guys that, you know, came in with me that were in the class. Um and so, you know, we kind of bounce stuff off of each other, try to get used to each other. Um obviously, you know, it’s different responsibilities for two ways than it is for somebody like Cedric, but whenever we are around each other, we try to bounce stuff around each other. And I think everybody just treats me like a like a normal person, like a you know, normal player and I, you know, I love that. Have you thought about things differently in terms of role in the NBA and in terms of handling the ball? Because when you first got when when they said, “Hey, now we’re going to put that him on the big roster, right? Rather than have him down working and getting a bunch of game action with the hustle is because, well, damn, we’re down four point guards. Vince is playing point guard. Macak may have to be the point guard, right?” So, did you start looking at things a little bit differently, being like, “Well, I thought I was going to be a wing player, but I better I better get used to being on the ball because if I get called into action early, it’s going to be on the ball.” For sure. No. Uh, I I think my life my whole life’s been about being resilient and and being able to be uh someone that knows how to adjust. Um, ever since, you know, my sophomore year when our starting point guard got hurt, uh, Zakai Ziggler, I had to play point guard for our team. Um, and we got all the way to Sweet 16. So, you know, at times where I had to go play Purdue and we were playing against Zach Edi, I had to play the five. Like, there was multiple times where I had to play positions that necessarily I’m not comfortable with, but I had to learn how to be comfortable with those positions. And I think being a chameleon is what makes um those players that are, you know, good to those players that are great that you can fit into any role, any team, any time, and they’re going to know how to adjust. And I think that’s a strength, you know, that not a lot of guys have. when you first walk in, you’ve got this idea of, okay, here’s what I need to improve. Here’s what I need to improve. Here’s what I want to really work on. Now that you are, you’ve been through so many practices with guys that you see, some of them outstanding players in the NBA, has that changed? Have you, after you have now gotten a lot of reps against NBA guys, have you looked at and go, “Okay, I need to get better at this.” Yeah. No, absolutely. I think, you know, in the NBA nowadays, it’s it’s a closeout league, so you got to be able to play well off of closeouts. And I think that’s something that um I’ve worked on in college, but I’ve gotten even better at in the NBA. These guys are really good, man. Some these system, these team defenses are are are good. These individual defenders are good. So, being able to create your own shot is important. Um but also being able to play out of closeouts. If you’re a threat to shoot, they can close out. You go to the basket, you create an advantage for somebody. Um, this NBA is is not about um trying to score over somebody. It’s not about trying to make and shoot the toughest shot. It’s about creating advantage for somebody else to create advantage for somebody else to create a shot. Um, and I think that’s important. If I can do that um this year and then every year find something else to get better at, man, for me like sky’s is the limit. You know what I mean? I want to be able to be one of the most complete players in the league someday. Um, and not just be somebody that just scores a lot of points or even somebody that defends super well and that’s all you can do. I want to be able to be a complete player, complete two-way player. Um, which I feel like in the NBA right now, it’s not a lot of those. So, if I can, you know, separate myself from everybody else, then, you know, I can, you know, end up being a player that stays in the NBA long. Have you had a damn, I’m in the I’m in the NBA moment, like, yo, I’m a professional basketball player type type moment yet. Yeah. I think I think it was two things. I think the travel was so when I got when I got on the two-way it was immediately like I think we had a home game maybe two home games and then we had a road trip for like eight days and I’m like bro this is crazy and it was right after we had a road trip for Hustle. So I’m going like off a road trip then coming back and then going off another road trip and I’m on the plane like geez like where where am I at? What day is it? And so it was it was a crazy adjustments. I think I think that was that was wild. Uh another one was the hotels. The hotels were different in the NBA than they are in everywhere else. You were like, “Wow, wait. This is all for me.” I’m like, “Okay, cool. The bed was huge.” I say, “Oh, I’m about to get comfortable.” Uh that that was crazy. And then uh honestly, another thing was the the practices. I think the practices are more intense. Um guys are more engaged. Um, guys are talking and that’s man that’s what I value, man. I value the the the inside the scoop game, man. Like when I was a kid, all I wanted to see was miked up stuff because I wanted to see the inside of what guys were talking about in the huddles, guys talking about the timeouts. That’s my biggest thing, you know, in college was being that guy that was a leader and could speak out on what he sees. And being able to be a sponge and being able to be over there to listen what guys feel like, all right, they should have switched on that or he got upset because he wasn’t helping. he got upset because he didn’t help him on the close out. Stuff like little nuances, stuff like that. That’s what I value as a basketball player. Who have you leaned on the most in terms of asking questions because there’s always a fine line, right? You don’t want to be the rookie that’s annoying people. On the other hand, you want to be a sponge. Exactly. And that that was my hardest part because I am somebody that’s going to ask questions. So, you can ask any of the guys like I’m asking it’d be random games where I’m sitting next to Ty or Jai or Scotty and I’m like, “Hey, bro, what what would you would have done right there?” like what do you what do you feel like you would have did in that situation? Boom, boom, boom. I probably would have did this. I’m like, “All right, cool. I got it locked in now.” Um, hey Ty, what what would you do on that ball screen? You know, if you’re coming off and you got him in jail, you looking at the roller, you looking at the opposite sky, you looking at your your bucket. Okay. Okay, cool. I got that in my head now. Like, I think the main guys that I’ve been asking, which are the guys that probably haven’t been playing as much because, you know, they’re more engaged into the game. The guys are actually playing out there, so I really don’t want to bother them with questions. But, you know, Tai, uh, J, um, Scotty, those have been the guys that I probably’ve asked questions the most on. Uh, KCP’s been a been a cool guy to to talk to, too. Um, and then also, you know, asking guys that are in my class, asking Javon what he thinks about stuff, asking Cedric what he thinks about stuff to see if it’s the same thing I’m seeing. Um, assistant coaches, like, I want to be a sponge. So, asking questions, I borderline want to find that line where I’m not too annoying, but I’m like right there. You know what I mean? And I feel like one or two questions like, “All right, bro. Okay, I’m done.” Like, when he called your number to get in the game, did you get like a knot in your stomach? Are you nervous or you like when you took that warm up? You went to the table. What? This is about This is happening. Yeah, it was crazy, man. Cuz I think I don’t know if that was the day where the people showed up and they had my like they had my uh picture and I went to go sign. So, like I’m hearing people like, “Go Meack, go Mehack.” And I’m like, “Oh, shoot, bro. I got Knoxville fans, Tennessee fans. Like, all right, I got to make sure I show out. So, I go into the game and I’m like ready. I think I think John told me he’s like, “Bro, you in.” I’m like, “Oh, shoot. All right, man. Let me let me get myself ready.” Even John did the clo the thing for y’all when you He’s a goofball, bro. He’s a goofball. So, he’s going to do stuff like that. I didn’t even see that. But, uh, they were hyping me up afterwards. I got the game ball. But when I got on the court and I’m running up and down, it was like a sense of calmness cuz I’m like, “Bro, I deserve to be here.” Like, I’ve worked really hard to be on this court. Even if it’s not in a competitive sense, like I worked really hard to be on this court. So, I was calm. When I caught that first pass, though, I said, “Oh, shoot.” I said I said, “Please.” And it felt good going off. But you never know like when you amped up and it feels good, it’s usually a air ball. So, it’s like, “All right, bro. This should go in.” And I’m like, “All right, cool.” And then I had the next one. I’m like, “Oh, yeah. I’m I’m about to do my That’s the one right there. That’s the one in the short. That back there knock.” And you know what? It’s one of those things where you got to trot back like, you know, you’re not trying and stuff. I do this, bro. In my head, I’m like, “Thank you. Thank you. I got my first one. Thank you.” When you when you woke up, did mom say something? Bro, they were blowing my everybody everybody in my family was blowing my phone up cuz it was like, “Bro, he’s in. He’s in. He’s in. Oh, he hit a three. He hit another one.” Hey, I was out there, man. I I mean, cuz shooting like shooting the ball like I worked super hard on doing that stuff. So, I was It’s not like I wasn’t confident in it. That’s something that I work on. But man, just to get it out the way and then like the crowd like you know you hearing Mhack there’s not a lot of times where a rookie where crowds are like that into you especially as somebody that was drafted 59 like guys don’t really trip but you know here there was there was a lot of Tennessee fans I guess. And so when you went back into the when you went back into the locker room they gave you the game ball. Oh yeah. Yeah. They gave me the game ball. I said bro like I’m taking pictures to my sent to my mom like mama look. And I’m like I’m keeping this bro. Like I didn’t even know what to do with it for like say what you what you do. I just I mean it’s at my house right now like just sitting on my bed and I’m like bro like I go to sleep with it at night like you know what I mean like a little teddy bear. And so you know it it was a cool experience. That’s dope. That’s dope as hell. And I can only imagine your phone just had to have gone absolutely nuclear. Oh my gosh it was crazy bro. Everybody saying congrats many more to come. I’m like man like it’s a once in a lifetime experience bro. I’m about to just cherish this moment. And you know, I’m always the type of person to move on. Like, all right, what’s next? What’s next? What next? Like, I want to conquer as much as I can. But that was a moment where I’m like, “All right, bro. Like, you worked hard for this. Like, sit down and really appreciate what’s going on.” It is It is really like these guys that get their first major league at bat and hit a home run. No, for sure. It really is. You got to swing swing green because the fact that they threw it to you twice and you made both of them. Hey, shout out to Jitty, too. Jiddy said, “If I’m in a game with you, bro, I’m passing you the ball every time.” I said, “Hey, Jenny. Hey, you ain’t got to tell me twice. I’m letting it go, bro.” So, nah, shout out to Jitty. I got to give him that one. I love it. Do you So, your mom is amazing on Twitter. Oh my gosh. You have no idea, bro. You have I want to know, do you do you police her Twitter account? Do you Or she just like, “Hey, mom. Just Just let it let it ride.” She She’s responsible. And so, my mom, the funny thing about my mom, you know how like you have kids and they’ll have, you know, followers, more followers than you. I’ve never had more followers than my mom on Twitter ever. So, so I can’t amazing on Twitter. I can’t go in and tell her how to run stuff. She know how to do this. So, like I’m like, you know, go ahead, do your thing. And she’s like really good at either asking me questions about basketball stuff that she feels like she may not have a full grasp on or my dad is a genius about this basketball stuff. So, he’ll ask she’ll ask um him a lot of questions. But like, man, the fans love her because she just has a knack for fan interaction and and respect for people on social media and wanting to answer questions that people may have from an insider point of view from like a mom standpoint. And I think that’s big. She I think she uses it really responsibly. So, I don’t really police her, but she’s she people I walk around and they don’t say, “Oh, you’re Ma.” They say, “Oh, you’re you’re um you’re uh Mika’s mother.” I mean, Mika’s son. So, I’m like, “Oh, yeah.” You you probably thought when you got the two-way that you’d be spending more time with the hustle at the beginning, right, Andy? And you had this also like very bizarre G-League rule that kept you from doing the training camp that kept the news from coming out about what was happening. But anyways, you end up getting the two-way and then you’re going to think you’re going to be playing more in the G- League. What has the G-League experience been for you was when you’ve gotten the opportunity to not only practice but also play in some of those games as compared to what you thought that was going to be like? Man, if I’m being honest man, it is it is such a different experience. So like in college like I’m from a system like you know doing stuff to the tea, big games, ESPN like you know we’re not going to just take you know crazy shot. We’re taking the best shot possible. I go to the G- League man everybody’s aggressive. Everybody’s aggressive. So, I’m like I’m trying to get used to being like just as aggressive because I’m a team guy. Like, you know, I want to get everybody going. I want That’s why I love passing the ball so much cuz I feel like uh like a guy like Magic Johnson, like he wasn’t so good because he was, you know, super talent. He was talented, but he was able to bring other guys together. And I think that’s one thing that I I love to do. But in the G- League, man, it is just like you’re just going, man. It’s 100% non-stop. Guys are going at you. You got to go at guys. Like it’s no like, you know, reading. Nah, you got to just play. You know, not what you thought it was going to be. Not at all. Not at all. But it’s it’s an experience because it’s different than what I’m used to. So, I’m putting myself in an uncomfortable situation. Like, I I feel like I’d be more comfortable on the NBA court because I know what to do. I know how systems are in. I know how to fit in, right? You know what I mean? I know how to and even stand out in in in ways where I’m, you know, engaging with the crowd um and being who I am. But in the G-League, it’s like it’s like you’re playing open run kind of, you know what I mean? So, you’re just going and doing what it feels natural to you. And some guys are working on their game. Some guys are doing stuff that they’re used to. Some guys are shooting 30 shots on other teams. I’m like, “Oh man, he really shot that.” Like, which is which is weird coming from something so structured. Exactly. I was at Tennessee where, you know, Rick Barnes is not letting you take some bull crap. We want to see we want to see best shot, bro. What? No idea. But no. Yeah, it was an adjustment. I think being putting myself in uncomfortable situations is is always good. It’s my favorite quote. I’m kidding. Yes. Trying to be LeBron. Yeah. I love that quote. I love that quote. I love that quote. My favorite one. You’re LeBron. Man, we’re so happy for you. And obviously I’m I’m so glad that we got to relive that moment that happened against the Kings. Hopefully next time. Now we’re counting on you. It’s 100% sure. When swing swing come, bro. I’m ready, bro. Pass it. I’m hands ready, bro. always. Maybe tomorrow night against the Jazz. Welcome back to the Chris Vernon Show on YouTube at Grind City Media and the official Grind City Media app. Now back to your host Chris and my old folks and I drew near just a village down in sunny Tennessee. I’d been speeding on that train that would bring me back again to that girl I left in sunny Tennessee. I could hear those voices singing. Has she bid farewell to me? Far across the fields of cotton, my old homestead I could see as the moon rose in its glory. All right, we’re back. Chris and shout as we wrap this thing up. Mhjack was unbelievable. He’s great. He was awesome with us at summer league. He’s great. What an awesome personality he’s got, man. I I hope he turns out awesome cuz that’d be great. No, he was dead right when he was talking about his uh his time in the G- League for a little bit. It was like the first couple games like his field goal attempts were like really low and I was like, “Bro, you got like you need to shoot the ball. We need you to score.” Green light. And then like the next couple games he started taking like double digit shots and I was like, “All right, that’s cool.” But he did have some of those plays in the G-League where he just wanted to half court and he decided, I’m taking the ball from this guy and he would do it. Nice. We’ve got an NBA slate that is going on tonight. Obviously, the Grizzlies not in action until tomorrow night against the Utah Jazz. There is one NFL game. Falcons and Bucks. Bucks need to like like they’re now in because they’ve got a little heat coming from uh Carolina and they got two games with them. They can’t afford to be losing. So, this one actually matters tonight. Uh and the Falcons are the most like I hate them. Psychotic team ever. Like sometimes they look awesome and sack somebody eight times and sometimes they look terrible and it’s like they’re disgusting. Who knows what they are? Disgusting is crazy. They’re disgusting. Who? The Falcons. Yes. Why you call them disgusting? Cuz they’re disgusting. Why? Cuz I had I put a parlay with them to make the playoffs before the season and they’re totally They’re literally the only team ruining it. I also want also want to give you a heads up. Uh last night before the NBA Cup games came on and obviously the first cup game was over by halftime once that onslaught hit at the end of the first half with the Thunder against the uh against the Suns and our old boy Dylan Brooks. Uh congrats on the minus 47. minor setback for a major comeback. Yeah. Uh that’s kind of impressive in 26 minutes last night. Um 416. Anyways, that was crazy what went on last night. And then obviously Spurs moved on and they are going to be playing against uh the Oklahoma City Thunder. That boy Castle’s cold. I fell asleep before the end of that game, but they were up like 16 when I fell asleep. Castle is a problem, bro. Yeah, they were. Lakers defense is a problem as well. They can’t guard nobody. They can’t guard no guards. When they have their best players on the floor, it’s hard. Um, but before those cup games came on, I watched Serious Business. I did too. Ant show. Okay, it’s only 25 minutes. Yeah, it’s super quick. So, those are my kind of things, right? Yeah, you are not asking a lot of me. I can watch something for 25 minutes. and he was going to be playing ping pong against uh one of the great female ping-pong players, the one that he had that famous clip over when they were at the Olympics saying that he could beat her in ping pong. Um look, I can watch a do pretty much anything and the idea that he is going to compete against other people in other sports. I want to see him playing baseball or swimming or whatever he’s going to be doing. He says he’s amazing at everything. But the funniest part about you did watch it as well. Yeah, I got probably Yeah, I got most of it through. The funniest part about last night by a wide wide margin is Marshon Lynch is who he is going to practice against and play against before he plays this Olympian. Not only is he higher than you could ever be, he starts smoking weed in the show. Yeah. Don’t care, bro. Fried. smoking the black and mild gold and they’re like, “Put that weed away, Maran. You’re just smoking weed in the middle of that.” I’m like, “What show is this?” I mean, it’s Amazon. Everything’s freaking I got it. And then they had like this little like Thunderdome where they were having the pingpong match, all the Anthony Edwards logos everywhere. Hilarious. I mean, look, I the the It was episode one. I was entertained. I will say I was entertained and he’s playing pingpong against this chick and then I am entertained thinking about what follows, right? Because inevitably the show will get better and also hopefully the challenges get better too. But he’s a guy that thinks he’s awesome at literally everything. And so the idea is if I did that for a month, if I if I trained for a year, I could be that. You know, some of these guy and some of these guys like the Anthony Edwards, you like you sit there and go, you know what? If the guy did train to do like he probably would he probably I mean, he is naturally gifted at everything. You had to get one point to beat her and that man he got the one point. That man almost did a back flip. Oh, it was hilarious. He told his daughter, he’s like, “Yeah, I beat Lily. I beat Lily.” It was fun. It’s fun to watch. It’s worth watching and dance fun and watching Marshon Lynch just be high the whole time. Not care. Yes, he is hilarious. I saw one of those uh one of those shows one time. Two chains was on some show where he like like a cooking show and he was so high they had to stop and tell him, “Hey, man, you need to not be as high to keep doing this.” I mean, you know how hard it is to come down from a high, bro? You can’t just drink water, bro. You need to go chill out. I got it. Like, most of the time you see it, you’ll be like, “Man, that dude seems high.” Like, Marian Lynch was smoking it. Oh, he’s he’s a professional weed smoker, bro. Yeah, that that trust me. Well, I would think that somebody would be like, “Hey, man. Come on.” Not on camera. It’s Marshall. What you going to tell? You going to tell Marshall? You going to tell It don’t matter. Who’s going to be the one to tell Marshall put the blood down? It ain’t going to be me. All right. So, there are other stories that are coming out now regarding the uh Chiron Moore thing. They are say I guess there’s an Instagram model out saying that Chiron Moore used to hit her up and it’s like oh god here here it come here it comes and then uh you say Kevin Scarbinsky is saying Kayn D’bor is not going there. He tweeted something about it. Uh let me go Okay. So I mean look it’s not easy to go find a football coach on December 11th. Yeah. Kevin SC he tweeted uh an hour ago. Good reason to believe Kayn Dbor is not leaving Alabama for Michigan. really weird to think if I mean Michigan’s right up there with like you saw what Penn State ended up doing, right? And they ended up going and grabbing Matt Campbell away from Iowa State, but that was late in the game. Um, you wonder where m what what where Michigan would have been in terms of the jobs. Would you would you say head to Florida behind LSU? Yes. Is that how you would view it? Yeah, I would view that. It would be like I would say 1B to I think Michigan is probably I mean up there, bro. I think I think 1 A1B to me. I think maybe LSU and then Michigan. Yeah, Michigan’s one of them John. Penn State. I have CJ. Penn State’s up there, too. CJ’s a Michigan fan. I asked him like, “Is is the athletic director going to survive this?” This is the like third scandal under him in football. You had Harball with Connor Stallions. Unbelievable. You had the assistant coach who was like downloading creepy picks from students and now you’ve got this three of them. But here’s what it tells you and this is why you and I disagree on this. They’ll put up with anything if you’re winning. That’s what I’m saying, bro. If you put anything the freakiest weirdest You don’t think they knew that this guy was banking. Come on. Oh no. They knew. They knew, bro. But you lose Ohio State. That wasn’t Nobody. That’s how they probably lost some other games and boosters were probably not happy with it. Now we’ll use this to get rid of you. Get out of here. Ohio State. Yeah, but he only lost to Ohio State once. He beat them twice. I got it. But they were also nine and three after they had spent a billion dollars on Bryce Underwood. Bryce Underwood does not look good this year and he’s that kid can play. That kid can play. Well, they also know what a good football coach looks like and Sheron Moore might not be a good football. So, they’re like, you know what? Let’s cut ties while we can, right? Cuz Harball left at a time when it was like Michigan really didn’t have a choice. They had to hire him. But trust and believe, you can’t have a football program that big with as many donors and everybody involved with 85 kids on the team and everybody doesn’t know what the hell’s right. There’s a video. You We saw a video before the show, right? She’s standing right next like come on. It was his sidekick. Come on, bro. Aka side piece, right? His sidekick was his side piece, right? Yeah. You know what I’m saying? My boy got a song. And they waited until after National Signing Day. Unless you think they found out yesterday. Yeah, they knew. I mean, there’s enough people that knew. Yeah, there’s enough people. And they want to hold it all together. They want to hold it all together. And now they want to try to hold it all together by making a splash higher that keeps everybody on campus. They can get Brian Kelly, right? Oh god. He’s a Michigan guy. I don’t think they’d be too excited about that. My family. He He wouldn’t have to do that. He’s a Michigan guy. Oh, that’s true. So, yeah, he can he could be in character with them. Is he actually a Michigan guy? Pretty sure. Yeah. I mean, I know he coached at Central Michigan, but is he in Cincinnati? Is he actually a Michigan guy? Uh, he was uh rumored for that job. Like, he is from Florida, Roser. Yeah, but I think he is a Michigan guy. Why did nobody hire that guy from Georgia Tech? When you say Michigan guy cuz he lost it at the end. What do you mean when you say Michigan guy? Roser, did he go there? No, he went to Assumption. Yeah. What are you talking about? Ros making up crap. He went to assumption. Hey, you don’t have to make up crap to us, dude. He’s from He’s from Massachusett. You don’t have to lie to us, Rosanne. Where’d you get that from? Yeah. I don’t know. Why are you lying to us? Central Michigan. Central Michigan. He didn’t start there, bro. You playing softball, bro. You don’t have to spread a bunch of fake news. No, that’s what we do. It’s the internet. Wait, wait. He play He plays softball in college. That’s not a guy’s fort. Bro, I’m telling you this. John says softball. Jaylen, I’m going to send it to you. No, don’t send him anything. Oh, what? Softball. It’s because he started his head coaching career at Grand Valley State, which is literally right outside Annor. Are you really trying to chuck him away? That’s why you’re trying. No, he’s a Michigan guy. He’s for sure not. He’s a Michigan guy. No, he’s not. Yeah, Brian Kelly’s a Michigan guy. No, Ros. Hey, by the way, our boy our boy Charles of Jaylen, before you put the the Brian Kelly thing up. See what my boy got today. His first pair. His first pair. The phone posit initiation. Oh god. My boy My boy Charles Huff to be stepping in his phone pits. Jayla, I sent you the video like 10 minutes ago. Charles Charles Huffin foam pit. He’s wearing foam pits. If you ain’t got them, then you’re penny loafing. Okay, come on. Shout out. It’s a daily occurrence. What? I said it to like 10 minutes ago. Oh yeah, he got the original. Look at that boy with the OG foam. The OG foams. Then swipe to the right, Jaylen. Real. Wow. You even got Penny. Look at Look at Penny talking about he going to do the little offensive line. He going to do the roser. # them the ones. Yeah, bro. You got to step right in the phone posit. Look at Watch Penny. Watch Penny. Watch. I like it. Look, this is the first time in a while we have You seen Penny smile? No. We going to have We going to have a football coach and a basketball coach on the same accord. Just saying. Just saying. Verno, I’ I’d be dis I’m with it. Look at that boy pulling him out the box. Yeah. Yeah. Look at that. Give my boy some foams. Yeah, I like it. Yeah, I like it. Yeah, it’s like initiation of Memphis, man. Yeah. All right. Big time. Yeah, he play softball. There you go. Softball. That’s not up. Oh, what? Was he about to do something? What was he about to do? You play softball like after college in like men’s leagues. He played it when he played played it in college. It’s ridiculous on assumption, bro. Men don’t play softball in college. Like y’all want to say I’m the cap. There’s no division one men softball championship. Like that’s not a thing. You played softball in 1984 to 1987. Bro, if you can drink beer when you do it, it’s not a real sport. That’s not true. Yeah, it is. No, it’s not. That’s not true. You can drink beer doing anything. You can drink beer doing golf. Yeah. Yeah. But not when you’re like bowling, but not when you’re doing it professionally. You can’t. What? Yeah. Can’t be a professional. Look, you didn’t think this through. It coached it, dumbass. What do you mean? It’s a coaching career. Does that help? That’s the same. Coaching career. He coached softball. Yes. And it’s club. It’s not real. It’s club soft on his wiki page. He played club softball and he coached club softball. No, he played linebacker. Oh, he played linebacker but it was club. It was club football. He didn’t even play real softball. Cuz the bottom says softball. The bottom says so he coached softball when he was at assumption. Yeah, but that says coaching career. Hey, I understand that. But still, why are you coaching softball? Whatever. Now you’re changing it to why are you coaching softball? You were talking about why are you playing softball? Whatever. He’s a Michigan man. You guys have this show went so good. We did the Charles thing. We had Jamaak. And then the last five minutes you guys ruined it. Both of you. You with your Brian Kelly from Michigan guy. And you with he was a college softball player. Just ruined all of it. Just a bunch of just just sprayed the board with fake news. It’s not fake news. Hustle. We’re on ESPN Plus tonight. Nobody cares against the Oyola Magic. I think we got GG. It’s a Winter Wonderland game, bro. I think we have Gigi. Yeah, he played last game and I I don’t think he’s been back. Yeah, it’s a home game. It’s a winter wonderland game. It’s Winter Wonderland. Tap in. All right. I will turn it on. Yeah. Play Lester plays for the Oyola. ESPN Plus Plus 7 o’clock. All right. I will tune in. Sharp on the dot in my drop time. I will I will tune it in. Michigan guy. I’ll be there. I’ll be there. Roser. So, we got we got a hustle versus magic. Yeah. Tonight. They’re good with Roser on the call. All right. You better have some good calls if I’m Yeah. You ain’t been in your bag lately, Ros. I’m just telling you. Okay. Well, they got to give me a reason to get You had that You hadn’t had a viral clip in a minute. No, you’re like freaking Soulja Boy. You’re the Soulja Boy of Hustle. Soulja Boy announc the I was on Sports Center last year. That was last year, bro. This is the what have you done for me now business, Roser? Yeah. I don’t know if you realize we I was good. This guy was like I was on Sports Center. So was Seth Henan. Exactly. And now he’s walking around shaking hands hoping Charles puts him on the side. No, he’s doing he’s doing tech. He’s doing Tik Toks. Oh, he is? Seth Hennean and his wife have like a dual Tik Tok where they do dances. That’s cute. Yeah, it is. All right. Do it for today. Thank you. Thank God. Finally. All right, we’ll be back tomorrow. Odds couple coming up at 2. Until then, we go Michigan.

Medical staff could have given us a present by not doing anything for Christmas, but I guess that’s just not possible is it, say goodbye to screens, rebounds and paint dominance for a while…
