Feels like a big commitment for a 34 y.o. reliever
I think the Ricketts have me right where they want fans to be. I see these announcements and I’m not even annoyed or frustrated — I never think the Cubs are going to sign someone.

Didnt know he’s 35. If we dont get fairbanks jed will have again failed building a legit bullpen heading into spring training. Youd think the last few seasons he would learn to invest more into the bullpen during offseason.
Right before seeing this, I read that Devin Williams wanted to play for the Cubs, and his agent and the Cubs were negotiating. Obviously, the offer must not have been nearly as good as what the Mets offered. Definitely has “we tried” energy written all over it.
With Suarez, there goes another closer off the table.

Will be 35 next year with a lot of miles on the arm. Not sure why this needs posted on our sub, we weren’t that in on him and didn’t need to be.
