Though ASP is 6’0”, it’s hard to not always think of him as small — probably has to do with Mo and Simon

At first glance I thought they were holding hands
I got another dose of perspective on how good and how big the NHL players are when I was on the glass at the prospect games. I had noted that ASP is almost exactly my size, I’m even a little taller. So when he came near me I was like yep that could be me in RW gear (based on pics my wife takes at beer league games, and of course once he starts skating and playing that’s out the window). But in my low level beer league I’m able to model my play after some of the bigger D in the NHL while he looks so small out there and is forced to play like an undersized defenseman. Just like growing up playing bball as a center against my friends and then realizing I’m the size of a guard if I want to play competitively.
Anyway, I’m glad ASP seems to be getting more comfortable physically out there, he’s even knocked a few guys down around the boards lately.
Who needs Hughes when you’ve got Axel Makar Pellikka.
