Super Bowl 42 had everything a Giants fan could ever hope for. Huge underdog status. Dominant Defensive Line. Brady sacktacular. Clutch Eli. Helmet Catch. Burress. Biggest upset in sports history.

  1. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. As that game progressed and the Giants pass rush was getting home on Brady, you could see him getting skiddish in the pocket. He hadn’t looked like that all year and then it started to become believable that we may win.

In SB46, after the Tuck safety, I told everyone at the party, its over. Giants going to win. Brady didnt want a part of that rush.

Which is why I’ll also fiercely defend Eli. In an era of fantasy numbers, people foolishly said guys like Rivers and Brees were better because they had the #s. Granted, Eli made a lot of dumb mistakes in the regular season.

Though, pound for pound, game on the line, pressure on, Eli stood tall and delivered huge throw after huge throw under duress. That beating he took in San Fran to get us to SB46 was one of the gutsiest and best QB performances I have ever witnessed in my 40+ years as a NFL fan. Chips down, Eli came through. He’s the GOAT Giants QB in my eyes for that.

Now pardon me as I go watch Tuck’s pregame speech for 46 and hope one day I’ll be excited to watch Gmen football again as I was in the days LT terrorized opposing offense and Brandon Jacobs would viciously truck jabronis named Laron Landry
