San Jose Sharks at Toronto Maple Leafs | FULL Overtime Highlights – December 11, 2025
to start overtime against Matthews, McCabe, and Knander. And overtime’s underway. And Toronto will start with the puck. Here’s Austin Matthews over to Knander. Riley now on the ice for Toronto with Matthews. He’s watched by Celibbrini. Matthews handling it carefully. He’s aware of Celibbrini’s ability to defend. Well, Matthews backs away from Clingberg who tried to poke it free. And now Kneelander will carry it out. and their own team for bringing it back. Leafs make some changes. Here’s Tavvaris. Celbrini closing on Tavaris. He’ll bring it into the Shark zone. Tavvaris has it come off his stick. Back to Nines at center. Sharks change on the flying and icing against Toronto. And this will give the Sharks a chance to make sure they have all the fresh bodies on that they need. Celerini looks over at the bench. He’s staying on. Yeah, he’s staying on. And you’re bringing on Will Smith and Mario Ferraro. Mario got the change when Clingberg pushed the puck out of the zone. Tavaris did just come on for Toronto. He’s relatively fresh. A battle for it off the draw. Celbrini on the boards. Here’s Ferraro with it. gets it to Mlin. Mlin across Will Smith and he can’t get it away and it’s blocked by N. Didn’t get the shot he wanted but what a terrific job by Mlin Celerrini to get that puck from two Toronto Maple Leafs. Here’s Celbrini across center here in overtime. Carries it across the line over to Mario Ferraro. Smith. He’ll load up. Give it for Cabbrini. Back for Smith. Didn’t have a shot. It’s chopped away by McCabe. And now the Leafs have it. Here’s McCabe sprinting away from Will Smith. Smith’s out of gas, but McCabe curls back. Smith can’t get off though. Morgan Riley. That was the time change right there. Takes it out of his feet. Leaves it now for Matthews. Matthews down side of the ice. Matthews almost lost it. Now to Knander. stops behind the net. Knander turns it over. Mario Ferraro. He’ll give it back to Ecklund. No support here. Knander is good at taking pucks. William able to make a pivot and now he comes up ice. Here’s Ekan with Kurishv. Phil Kurishv. Loads up, shoots, and it’s blocked by Matthews. Kurishv has an overtime winner already this year. Here’s Riley back for Toronto. Austin Matthews and that’s off his stick to Eklan. Ecklund has Wenberg. Twoon one. Alex Wenberg. Ecklan. Save. Rebound. Score. Alex Wenberg caps off a great night with the overtime winner in Toronto. This is beautiful because he Alex takes it off the skate and then to a stick and pushes it into the net. Now the referees are going to look at this, but I from our angle up here, shot, rebound, skate, stick in the net. That is a goal that is going to be counted as a winner. What a play. Alex Went has had a terrific game. Pass across, shot, rebound, gets his stick free. Max Doi’s got a hold of it. He gets his stick free and he’s able to get his stick on it. And it’s a good goal on the ice. And this one Oh, no. Now they’re saying it’s going up to review, but I think he gets his stick on it. Here’s the best angle. He does get his stick on it. Shot rebound. The previous play is under review to see if the play was you see prior to the goal side. Oh no. And this will come back now. Well, this is a review from up top. Well, we know the percentage of offsides that end up holding up. Oh boy. Well, this is what general managers in the NHL wanted. They want review on offsides. This is Yeah, they made their decision. So, what we get? Let’s see. Here’s the call. Yeah, it looks like it’s offside. Yep. After reviewing the play, was determined that the play was onside. We have a good goal. The game is over. The Sharks do win as Alex Wenberg in overtime gives the Sharks a 3-2 victory. What a night for Wenberg. a goal to win it along with two assists. He’s in on all three as the Sharks come back with authority here in Toronto down two nothing. They tie it in the third on a Clingberg goal and then another sweet Alec Swinberg gets it done.

Leafs bleeped that up like a game 7 playoff game.
The way Matthews skated (walked) back after he coughed the puck up in the offensive zone was embarassing! That created 2 on 1 for SJ, because he gave up on backchecking! Please, trade him finally, because I can't stand all these passengers and underachievers like him, Rielly or Nylander, who by the way was absolutely dreadful in OT!
It was off-site. It shouldn't count. The refs are against us since 1967π
What was matthews doing this OT?!
Good ol Matthews! I wish we could trade this absolute bum. That defense and back check from an alleged βgreat defensive playerβ makes what Bouchard does in Edmonton look like nothing.
Leafs lose, league wins!
