NHL Highlights | Red Wings vs. Oilers – December 11, 2025

His center is Leon Dryidle. And we are underway with Edmonton coming off a 43 overtime loss to Buffalo. And Detroit hung on last night in Calgary to win four to three for Detroit. Andrew Cop to the middle of the ice to Brinken. Scored twice last night. Shot from distance by Hamick. Save made by Skinner. The rebound popped out into the slot and Johansson will work it down low for Detroit. Red Wings only change from last night. The veteran James Van Remsteikeke not in the lineup. Patrick Kane tried to catch Skinner napping and banged it off the side of the post short side. Kane had two beauty assists. And now here’s the brink. It’s a cop. A shot acted at by Sherro Kane waiting. No shot against the stickless Yanmar. He’s had a sluggish start to the season offensively. Now takes it in from Edmonson on his backand wheels away from Koulak. A drive from the point. And the kick save made by Here’s Cop waving at it against Zack Heyman. Edmonson will drop it for Cider. Whips it ahead for Alex to Brinket. 12 goals in his last 15. Shot off the rush. The blocker save made by Skinner. Factored in both Edmonton goals in defeat. He has not been on the score sheet in any other game this year. Emerson to McDavid. A shot off scene. Casper launches one indeed. Here’s Booard up the right hand side. Stopped by Casper. A battle and a quick give. Return to the point. Edmonson a drive and that stayed out. Skinner playing for just the fifth time in Detroit’s last 18 games with Van Reike. A late scratch. Turned it over. Emerson a shot. S Talbert rebound available. De Brink tried to steer one ahead for Andrew Cop. One of a handful of University of Michigan standouts on this team. to break it a shot just missed. That’s about the spot where he scored against Calgary. This looked like he was going after one of Kia’s rebounds there. Nurse up the right hand side. Bonjapani kept it alive for Lazar. He’s in. Lazar big door. What a save. Talmet. He robbed David Tamasic. Fourth line generating a terrific chance. Best of the game. Tamasic denied. Almost picked up. Another goal for Edmonton. That was right on the doorstep. Wow. Here’s Damashic shooting off the rush. Juggled. It’s still loose. Top of the blue paint and Talbot reaches out. Long time Winnipeg Jet challenging Dry. Settle over to Seavoy. Tried to curl it in off a skate. Kept alive. Nurse shot. Save. Juicy rebound and another stop on Seavoy by Cam Talson. McDavid to try McDavid to Devin Bousard. McDavid dry side waiting wide open McDavid. No shot tipped in Zackman. McDavid waited Talbot out and when the opening presented itself flicked it over to Zack Heyman who makes no mistake one- nothing Edmonson power play goal. Once this puck comes to him in the chaos but the great players they have the ability just to slow things down when they need to. Watch this. Could have shot it. Could have shot it. Nope. drags out Calvin to the top. Second unit on for Detroit. Sanded Pelica does well to hold the zone. Sauces across to Finny. Here’s a shot down low and a save made by Skinner. And then rebound recovered. Zack Heyman, the game’s only goal scorer came on the power play from McDavid and Drytle. And it’s one- nothing as we begin period two. Red Wings this year have not really let a first period get to them. They’re respectable 46 and one when they’re down after 20. Shot off the rush taken by Sabo and a save made by 38-year-old Cam Talbat. Lead pass grabbed and a quick snap shot on net and finally smacked out of there by De Brinken. shift all set up by the transition of McDavid. Dan Hopkins gives it back to McDavid. One timer at home score. Two nothing Edmonson. Matias Eko his third of the year was in support of Regula who couldn’t get a little pass through and that sent McDavid in. You saw him drive that one way to the net. Heyman had a rebound j and they went to work for about 40 45 seconds and then again on this ship would not allow a clean change and the blast by a wants the entry into the zone. Zachman getting to the front of the net. This probably it looks like goes off of him the way he reacted. Sent in deep from center now. Henrik trying to punch one in front. Jeff Brewaker was my coach there. Oh, what a character. Just a classic. Here’s Nate Danielson again with a center chip in Detroit gets on the board. The fourth line with Edmonson the trailer. We weren’t even sure he’d play. Got banged up last night. But he bangs in his fourth of the year and the Red Wings have life. It’s two to one. Right in the slot when this one comes out. So good exit out of the zone and he’s the one that kind of starts it with that one hand little sorry that shoulder blow and then the other big man behind him takes this nice little pass in the slot and he just chunks it towards the net. He’s getting pressured by Frederick from behind but Edmonson gets a good piece of this puck right there. Kind of almost a deflection shot and kind of good hits by Kohl’s and Sherrod inactive tonight. Here’s a leap pass to Raymond who drawn a ball against Ebone even as his initial shot was stopped by Steuart Skinner. There it is right there. Reaching in body to stick. Waiting, dishing shot. Sandine Pelica was blocked. Rebound fitting comes off the half wall and a save made by Skinner. Rebound available. The Red Wings somehow can’t put it upstairs. Two-1 Oilers. The difference right now at Holmes drive. Oh, here’s a trip. Try got tripped by the official. Great shot CA made by Skinner on Casper. He’s having a great season. Broke his collar bone in Chicago. Just a fluky fall. Here’s McDavid. Beautiful move around. Cut to the net with a hard backhander and a good save made by Cam Talba. Conor McDavid. It’s always interesting that backhand whistler. Blockered away by Talon. Now Zack Heyman puts the brakes on. Hands to Regula wisely on to McDavid who shoots and a save made by Talent. Rebound available. Heyman could not bank it home. Nurse thought about taking a one-time instead. A wrist shot in front. Heyman scores. Set up by McDavid. His third assist of the night. Iman’s second goal. The Oilers extend to a 3-1 lead. Chances be to stay with battle. This is excellent work by this line and especially Conor McDavid here as he comes up with this loose puck. First chance there for him. Second chance he throws it back. It’s Nurse that’s eventually going to throw this from a sharp angle once it goes in the corner. What a pass. I mean that is just a dandy glove down to the ice between the legs. Backhand pass onto the tape in the back of the net as Leon Dryidle digs in against Dylan Larkin. Power play for the Oilers, but I understand why. And as we’ve seen the night, occasionally an obstacle. Here’s Bryson heading from the net short side. A save made by Talbot. of course referring to the accidental trip on Dryson. Talbot is going and the Red Wings able to wrestle possession away. Patrick King McDavid and New Janovkins defending center pass tipped on net. A save made by Skinner. Rebound Raymond and did they lose sight of the puck? Raymond a little give and go with the brinket and then he flubbed it. Chance for Seavoy. Tryside on the empty net. moves it but go shoots and somehow that hit the crossbar and stayed out. Looked like a clear shot for the hat-tick. It would have been a four-point night for McDavid there in the pot coals and I think Talbot heads back to the bench empty. Nurse recognizes off the glass to dry back hands it away to McDavid and this game about to be over. Heyman waits, shoots and scores. Patrick Zackman victory Evans Oilers. He’s creeping up on Nate McKinnon. I think he’s four back now. There you go. He’s not not the guy you want in the rearview mirror chasing you down. But that’s the play I’m talking about right there by Dside. A great job to just be strong on that puck on the wall. And then once McDavid has it, nice little fake here by him. He never really looks to the net. But you kind of figured he was going to bury it into the open net for the hat-tick and he makes good on that one. One final toss the other way by Kulak and the Edmonson Oilers improved to 141 11 and six while Detroit falls from first to third in the Atlantic. The Oilers will retain a wild card spot in the West.

Zach Hyman scored his sixth career hat trick while Connor McDavid four assists as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-1.

  1. Zach Hyman was in-SANE this game, like a hat trick? That’s pretty rare.
I still remember last year when we played the Ottawa Senators and we won 3-1, getting all the goals from Hyman.
Congrats to the Oilers on winning 4-1! 🎉🎉🎉
We’re coming back up to 1st I tell you!

  2. Ну шо, погнали. Дві команди, які мені, однаково подобаються. Ну а зараз, за виїздну. Детройт, Let's go.

  3. Mo on the ice when they get scored on again. Where will his fans be when games get tough down the stretch and his Norris talk disappears like every season. His fans will disappear from the comments section just like every year and I'll say I told you so like I've said every season. The choke will happen… Again lol

  4. Zach attack for the win…….they're about on their regular pace, sleepwalk thru the first 1/3 of the season then realize they need to start stacking some W's

  5. Time for the Ded Things to begin their annual mid season slide so that they can finish in the bottom 3 of the Atlantic and get themselves a middling draft pick.
