I hope this is their way of using the best guy in the toughest inning (which is more often the 8th.)
Why make this decision now? Let spring training happen and give it to the best guy.
I bet by mid April it’ll be the other way around.
He said we needed another Joe Jiminez. This seems pretty good!
This reminds me of when we got Shane Green and they said he would remain the closer, even though we got what’s his name (I’m drawing a blank right now, but he looked like a naked mole rat). It worked out that way for about a week.
I like the big fastball in the 9th, iggy would be a fabulous setup, imo. But really, they’re both good options.
If Jimenez can come back healthy and to form then the 7-9 should hopefully be locked down.
I mean you can’t ask for a better setup man. Truly. But this seems backwards. Whatever fuck it we got Robert Suarez that’s good enough for me.
And not for nothing but the whole thing with the Mets Suarez connection was that they wanted him as a setup man and maybe that’s why they couldn’t get it done so maybe this is just a funny shots fired by the front office.

This is said to not put anything on either yet, and if we haven’t moved to a best man for the guys upcoming mentality for the bullpen then we are still bad.
The other one’s the shortstop.
Braves are famous for their leaks and sources. See yall in training camp.

16 million appears to be AA’s going rate for a closer
For now……
Glad Braves signed him but that’s dumb
I’m not so sure about Iglesias closing anymore with his peak behind him, I personally think Shawn Armstrong or a similar low-key free agent or converting one of our struggling starters (I want to scream Strider) to the bullpen and picking up Foster Griffin to fill that hole in the rotation
100% now Jimenez isn’t back
I mean I feel like that’s a manager decision
Shouldn’t say that from started, instead let a healthy competition ensue. Rob had 2 great years and we just paid a bunch of money. Let’s run it.
