Doc Rivers Postgame Press Conference | 12.11.25
Well, it it took a couple minutes in the in the third uh for things to finally click in, I guess, just what what did you see or why or how did that 22-6 run kind of get going? Yeah, you know, I thought it started in the in the second quarter. Um I just thought we caught ourselves. You know, they jumped on us the beginning of the game. Uh we got right back in it. I thought that was the biggest point of the game other than the third was the first and second quarter when they were up 12 or whatever and we cut it back and it became a game again. that gave us life. Uh then we came out in the third quarter. I thought our defense was phenomenal. Uh we basically took away their threes, you know, and that’s what they kept hunting and we kept taking them away and I thought it was great. Uh just specifically their threes, I think they miss every three they had tried in the third quarter. Um obviously there’s some make miss stuff there, but did you feel like there were a few make miss, but most of the time there are contested threes, you know, and that’s that’s what we planned for, you know, uh they take more uh break threes than any other team. They don’t actually take a lot of corner threes. Uh, which is unusual and you know, a lot of that is because they iso and then you help and they they spread it out and we we drilled it for two days like you know being but as that ball you have to arrive on the pass. That’s all we talked about. You have to arrive on the pass uh and run them off the shot and I thought our guys did that. I thought Cole you know defensively and not offense he was great offensively but defensively was phenomenal as well. Uh Cuz Bobby gave us a huge lip on the offensive end. Uh and Cuz just played a whole floor game. Him and Scoo, I thought their floor games were were terrific. Uh Cuz I think is 11 of 13 in the paint tonight. Um we always talk about how important it is for him to get downhill, but just what do you think he saw tonight? Listen, he’s he’s bought into his shot profile. Like he really has. He avoids the in between jump shot. Uh we want corner threes from him. Uh we want him to attack the basket. Uh, and if he doesn’t have layup, spread it out. He did all those things tonight. I mean, for all season, the last couple days, talking about limiting turnovers, right? First half, there were those turnovers, which maybe prevented getting over the hump. In that run, I think it was one turnover. Yeah. And two fouls. Yeah. Um, I know I just thought we had I thought the spacing was perfect tonight. Um, one of the things we talked to you guys about going in the break was correcting our spacing. I thought we had room tonight. guys wasn’t in the wrong spots. Uh when a guard drove, he knew where the other guy was at. I thought we played a very organized basketball game tonight. What do you think allowed Bobby to just get going the way he did tonight? It was just great. We needed it number one. Uh you know what I liked about it? It’s not like he forced anything. The ball moved to him. Uh he got it in the right spots and he took the right shots. So um and and then I thought it was one of his better defensive games. I thought he competed on the defensive end tonight. I think through the guys in this the postgame uh interview over the thing were just talking about how you know you kind of instilled in them to play wanted to play harder um and such just kind of what things did you that you tried to instill over these last couple of days. There’s a lot of multiple effort drills. Um, you know, some are like wouldn’t make sense honestly in the real basketball world, but uh it was more exaggerated multiple efforts, you know, make them hard like u guarding the ball and then still getting out to your shooter. Um, we did a ton of it uh for two days. Everything was multiple effort, multiple effort, multiple effort. Uh, and I thought it it it spilled over into the game. Um, so it was great. Maybe off that when when there have been losses, it’s been sort of familiar things. When there’s wins, it’s familiar things. A lot of what we’re talking about, how how can you build on this once again? Yeah, you you just have to, but we we just haven’t really uh we got a game coming up now. We got to do it again, you know. Uh can’t get whatever the word is, you know. Uh you just have to come back out and play hard again. Uh, and the heart, and that’s all I talked about this week, will allow you to do other things. Uh, the spacing, like sprinting all the way to the corner, and that’s stopping short. You know, we showed a bunch of film where guys are driving. If the guy was in the corner, he could have got to the basket, but the guy was three feet up and the guy I mean, those are turnovers. So, all those things we have to keep doing. Like, tomorrow we’re probably going to have a guard big just film session, no practice, so you guys don’t have to come. Um, but we just want to keep their brains like thinking doing the right stuff. So when when you shoot 60%, someone’s going to get some assists. But what’ you think of Scoot’s 13 assists? Just what what were you seeing from him? Maybe I thought after the first quarter and a half he was phenomenal. Um, I thought in the first quarter him and Ryan were going north south, not that downhill, a lot of dancing. After that, they start playing right and attacking and making plays. Um he he’s just so clever and you know then down the stretch we wanted to put it in his hand to make plays. So uh he was great. Uh he really was.

Finally a good game
Let Cole get run off the bench in a permanent role like he was before. A lot of us scapegoated him. (I above all, am guilty). KPJ and Rollins are terrific together. In the situation any of them were to not play, Cole Anthony has my trust. Good win, we have so much to look forward to, so much to gain, let’s keep overcoming. Go on a streak.
Doc is so happy his game plan worked.
Doc. When you game plan, they execute fairly well. Issue is 75% of the time they look like they're going into games without ever having discussed the opponent or walked through schemes OR even watched film
The defence was there tonight
Still fire doc
U need to be fired no other way around it
💪🏾
Good win but fire Doc please!
Kpj ryan aj kuz myles for next game 🔥
Double high screen for kpj win us this game 🔥
Thank you doc for doing your job tonight. Good rotations and gameplan. Not like the past where were 8 mins into the game and still same guys on the floor, Only thing that tells me every time is the guys not pushing themselves enough if 8 mins in they still fresh. It's a team sport and you finally utilize the whole team tonight while keeping your hot hands in the game. Great win!
Great coaching💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Still a trash team with a garbage coach
That is win one. Win again that is two in a row win one after that, it's called a winning streak. It has happened. Hopefully it will with this team.
he literally said bobby competed defensively, so what does that say about what he's been doing
i agree with Doc, they do look more orgainized, they do look like they running offense with picks and everything
KPJ might have saved this franchise and Docs job
