Between Washington and Cleveland, you got the Washington Wizards at 3 and 19 on the year 6 and 16 against the number. They’ve lost three straight after a 131 1116 loss to Atlanta in their last matchup. While Cleveland is 14-1 this season, just 8-17 against the number this year after a 9994 loss outright to the Golden State Warriors in their last matchup. And I’ll tell you, you know, this year has not been the same what it was last year for the uh the Cleveland Cavaliers. If anybody remembers, you know, the Cavs went on a dominant run to start the year against the number, but this year just 7 and 15 against the spread as a favorite this season. I think a lot of that is the expectation that comes with having a dominant year like the one that Cleveland had in the regular season last year. And, you know, just an inability to carry that over and sort of sustain that going into the following season. And, you know, it’s it’s caused Cleveland to be just inconsistent. I mean, this is a team that’s gone four- six in their last 10 games, just three- seven against the number, but they haven’t played the Washington Wizards in a little while. They played them back on November 7th, and it was a 148 115 win for Cleveland in this very same building. And that’s kind of been the theme for the Washington Wizards. And I’ve covered Washington Wizards basketball games a lot this season at Pick Dogs. And if you know what I’m about to say, I apologize for sounding like a broken record, but it is just my mindset when we talk about the Washington Wizards and their results this season with the Wizards. A lot of times you either back this team on the money line to win outright or you fade them by going double digits the other way because a lot of these games for the Washington Wizards are rarely close. And I just think that this game profiles the same way as that. Now, yes, the Washington Wizards are fully capable of winning games here and there, but you look at the teams that they’ve beaten as of late. They upset the Milwaukee Bucks, who yes, have been a disappointment this year. And I think you can definitely make a strong case that Cleveland would kind of fit the same profile of a team that’s been quote unquote disappointing, at least compared to what the expectation was. They did beat Atlanta as sizable underdogs, but also teams that maybe shouldn’t have been laying those big numbers. The Cleveland Cavaliers when they win and they’ve been be able to beat bad teams, they win these games by margin. Look at the teams that they’ve been beating as of late. They beat the San Antonio Spurs, who are not a bad team, beat them by 13. But then on the road, they beat the Pacers, who still have been one of the worst teams in the NBA this season, beat them by 16 points. Go back to the end of November when they were laying a big number against the Clippers at home, won by 15. Beat the Pacers the game before that by 11. They didn’t cover, but they won by a sizable margin. And I just think that the Washington Wizards are too too much of a disappointment for me to feel comfortable about backing in any way, shape, or form in this game. I just think that Cleveland finds a way to get the job done here. Gets the winning cover on the road. So, I’m going to lay the points with the Cavaliers. That is my free pick for this game.
