We have a major update on the Knicks trade plans. According to an NBA insider, we finally have more information on which Nick player is the most likely to be traded at the deadline. Multiple reports have already confirmed that the Knicks will make a move at the trade deadline. But if the Knicks are going to make a trade, who’s on the trade block? Shout out to NBA insider with the New York Post, Steph Bondi, for giving us this following information. According to him, if I were listing the Knicks most likely to be dealt before the February trade deadline, the French native is probably number one on the list. He’s speaking about Gershon Yabaselli. It’s not that he’d bring back value. Quite the opposite actually, but rather because his situation in New York has gotten so off track. So, if he wouldn’t bring back value, what would he bring back? What would a trade featuring Gerson Yabaselli look like for New York? Well, shout out to Steph Bondi once again with the New York Post for giving us more information on this situation. according to him. Now, keep in mind, Gerson Yabelli was signed with the Knicks before Mike Brown was hired. So, it’s certainly not all on Yabaselli. It’s just been a bad fit. And if there’s no resurgence between December 15th and February 6th, the Knicks would be better off attaching second round draft capital to Yabaselli for a rotation piece. And according to Bondi, that rotation piece would be a backup point guard. This is New York’s win now window. and Yabaselli’s purpose inside of it is hard to find. From the players perspective, I’m guessing a change of scenery with greater opportunity would be welcomed. If the Knicks trade Yabaselli, they’ll look to add a point guard in return. That’s their trade plans. And in my opinion, that’s a mistake. Give Tyler Cole that opportunity. Give him the backup point guard position. He’s already playing it. And then go out there and look for a wing. Add another wing to this team to the bench. Somebody with size who can shoot the three ball and defend. If New York can add a player like that, it could be gamechanging. Just take a look at the second unit that normally New York runs out there. A lot of times, what is the criticism with that lineup? Normally it’s Carl Anthony Towns is the biggest player on the court for New York and then after him who is it Josh Hart? Muel Bridges the lineup is so small you need to add more size to the lineup and how do you do that? By adding another wing to this team. Gerson Yabaselli he was supposed to play alongside Carl Anthony Towns alongside Mitchell Robinson. The problem is New York can’t do that because when they do that clearly they are struggling. They cannot play Yabaselli and do so in a way that helps them win games. That’s why his minutes have been cut. That’s why he’s playing limited minutes. Right now I agree to an extent with Steph Bondi. You need to make a trade and get another player on this team that actually fits, actually helps New York. and what we’re trying to do. If Gerson Yabaselli was actually the player we needed him to be off the bench, even if he was struggling defensively, but offensively he was giving you something. He could do something. He could draw the defense or help you in that situation, but he’s not even doing that. And there lies the problem. You need to be able to have some type of impact when you’re on the floor. Make the most out of your minutes right now. If New York can make a trade that moves Yabaselli and some second round draft capital in order to get an impactful wing on this team, I am making that move every time because in my opinion, that’s the missing piece. That’s the player New York needs to target. A wing with size that can give you defense and can add some three-point shooting. That changes everything for New York. And at the deadline, the Knicks need to look in that direction, not a backup point guard. And it’s so ironic because the team the Knicks are going to be facing in the semifinals of the NBA Cup actually highlights why New York needs a wing. Look at the Orlando Magic when they’re fully healthy. They have so much size. They make New York look small. That’s another reason I hope at the deadline if New York does make a trade, it’s for a wing. The New York Knicks are a minus4 on the spread and a minus 178 by the money line. While the Orlando Magic, they’re at plus 150. This game is not going to be easy. Even if the Magic are going to be missing Fron, the Knicks are going to be missing a huge piece off the bench in Miles McBride. he is likely not going to play that game. The Magic, they’re not going to make any excuses. And the Knicks, they better not make any excuses. They have said to everybody who will listen that this NBA cup, it matters to them. They want it. They want to win it all. So, if that’s the case, you don’t make any excuses. It’s next man up mentality. You play with all the players you have available. you go out there and you take the victory. The Orlando Magic at this point in time have dominated the Knicks in almost every single matchup. Thankfully, the last time we played them, we finally beat them. This time around, we have a chance to tie the season series by beating them in the semifinals of the NBA Cup. And how sweet it would be that in the process of the Knicks getting to the NBA Cup finals, they beat the team that have been terrorizing them all season long in the Orlando Magic. That’s exactly what I want the Knicks to do. And this Saturday, they are going to do that. They are going to get the job done. They are going to the NBA Cup finals and they are going to win it all. This is the test the Knicks have been waiting for. And on Saturday, the Knicks are going to send a message to the league. The NBA is about to be on notice. If you didn’t already know, you’re about to find out. This season is our time, our year. New York is winning it all. And it starts with the NBA Cup. But what about you guys?   2. While I agree that knicks need herb Jones, they also need Keon Ellis. Kolec isn't seasoned enough. So trade kolec and Yabuselle for those 2 players or for herb and Alvarez

  4. We may have been inaccurate in evaluating Yabusele. Yabusele was a good player on a bad Sixer team. He may be out of shape and/or not as good as we thought. I would like to see more length or another defensive wing or big on this team.

  5. After Dec 15th Yabu for Jose Alvarado works. I assume we d have to add a 2nd rounder. I've seen guys talking about using Yabu (and Dadiet) in a bigger trade for AYO from Chicago. Would love to get that guy on the squad!

  8. We need a backup PG. Kolek isn’t ready. A PG with some size. We are small at the guard position. Brunson, Deuce and Kolek barely 6ft. We need more athleticism on the roster. We struggle with teams like Orlando who are athletic. Look at Anthony Black on Orlando 6’7 PG, Jalen Suggs 6’5 pg and both are the athletic type. They might want to call up Dink Pate to add some size and athleticism

  13. I think that you are on point here. Notice that Yabu is getting more game time since his weight became a talking point. Looks like the team is trying to showcase his value. I think the Herb Jones + Alvarado trade is the move.

  16. 100% Yabu hasn’t been the player we were expecting to when he came over. We definitely need a wing the WILL PLAY that provides defense primarily. A 6’9 (+) will be ideal and push Bridges to the 2 and that would give them the size and versatility needed. Hunt for a capable wing that gets quality minutes and one is out there.

  22. I swear Leon has a guard fetish like ENOUGH WITH ALL THIS BACKUP PG NONSENSE! I'm so sick of this garbage, let Kolek run the show already, how can things get better when they don't let any young talent get consistent playing time with at least 10 games straight, we got 32,000 guards already on this team. I gotta agree with Troy on this one, get a wing!

    On the trade block, Mitch, Yabusele & Pacôme. We don't need them at this point, Mike Clown should "ADAPT" & design ways Yabusele can be effective cause your a coach & you preach about "ADAPTABILITY" so why not ADAPT & have Yabusele being more effective, if anybody needs to go it's Mitch & Pacôme, sure Robinson got rebounds but we can find that elsewhere, Pacôme has reached his ceiling at whole Mitch has one thing he good at Pacôme has literally nothing, I'd rather bank on Yabusele as he's better then both combined but hasn't played like it but if Mike not gonna ADAPT, then there's no point in even keeping him.

    It's on Mike to be honest, can't blame Yabusele for the most part, they gonna move Yabusele & that's dirty, I don't see then moving Mike for not ADAPTING lol. Leon should move Mitch & Pacôme for a C & Wing. Move Huk for the starting lineup, let KAT go back to PF, otherwise insert Diawara into the lineup, he has good defense so why not play him? Defense is clearly more valued then offense, I mean if it wasn't, Mitch woulda been traded years ago cause he never had offense & all that off season work he did was for nothing, I did say that's coo but let's see how it translates in actual games before we start getting all excited & of course he still not able to hit free throws💀🙄.

    We better win this NBA cup.

  27. Yes, the open spot should be given to Dink. Hopefully the Knicks don’t make the same mistake like they did with Grimes.. We would’ve been in a much better situation with Grimes was still on the team. 🤦🏽🧐

    Rookies kolak he is not playing with much confidence he's playing if are afraid to do what have to do maybe he's so afraid to make any mistakes. So sad,ant no man that is perfect he need to do more.he his hurting his own self.

  29. Philly had Yabu play mostly at the post and that is where he was more effective. I remember KAT cannot back him down the post last season. He coulda been that enforcer underneath. Mike Brown is playing him like OG. Well, if he is really on his way out, sign Bol Bol.

  33. I would do Mitch and Yabu for Herb Jones and Jose Alverado. C I like Tyler, but we ain’t got time for development in a way now situation. Will just give him minutes when we can.
