Wayne Larrivee & Larry McCarren on Packers Radio rank #1 [Best Broadcast] on Awful Announcing’s Reader’s Vote

  1. I love how descriptive they are. You can actually imagine the play unfolding with the detail they give.

Tv broadcasters could learn a thing or two.

  2. i actually love when rock shouts over larry

edit: ya’ll know what I meant. Though sometimes it does sound like he’s trying to yell over himself!

  3. Ignoring the fact that their eyesight is going and they can’t tell players apart – Larry often provides a bit of accurate color on run schemes and fits within the interior 7. I appreciate it. TV commentators are fucking trash and miss most interesting things about the run game.

  4. Im shocked Rock doesnt bring down the broadcast lol. I personally love him but I can see how others would be annoyed by his constant “YESSSSS” and “GOT HIM!”‘s lol.

  5. I remember at one point my dad would mute the tv and put on the radio because the tv crew was so bad

  6. I’ve listened to a lot more local radio broadcasts thanks to getting Sirius this year & it’s definitely made me appreciate our guys that much more!

  7. Spoiled so bad as a Packers and Wings fan. Most hockey announcers are nails on a chalkboard to me.

  8. I would tend to agree with much of this list. Not just that Wayne and Rock are Number 1, but that the Dolphins announcers are dogshit. My wife is a Dolphins fan, so we’ll listen to their feed in the car from time to time and they are turrible, just turrible. They rarely reset the game so as a listener I have very little reference to what down it is, how many yards they need for the first, and where on the field they are.

  9. The way Wayne amps the anticipation by increasing his cadence as he describes the offensive formation leading up to the snap on a big play is absolutely world-class. Nobody does it better.

  10. All NFCN teams in the top 10. Paul Allen at 10 is a bit controversial since he does suck but his meltdown calls after a Vikings choke are undeniably iconic
