“Guys Did A Great Job Locking Down” | Alex Lyon After 3-2 Win In Vancouver | Buffalo Sabres

seemed like a lot of chaos in front of your net, loose pucks, all that all night. What can you just How do you stay so calm there? Uh yeah, uh honestly started didn’t feel that good at the start. Uh was battling um and uh just started to feel feel good uh into the second period and started to find a rhythm a little bit and um uh I played it felt good, but we were just played so desperately. Um, I think that was pretty evident um in the third there and they pushed really hard. Uh, gotta give a lot of credit to them, but the guys uh did a great job locking down the house and um yeah, just got to enjoy the win and then and then move forward. A lot of traffic a lot at the net in the third as well. What’s that like behind what appears to be chaos? Yeah, I think you know, as you know, I think when you’re things are feeling good, they feel good and so it’s maybe not quite as uh you know, you’re just seeing it. Um and uh it’s kind of how I felt in the third period tonight. So, I just tried to play with confidence and and uh you know, I’ve been in this building a few times when they sneak it out and it goes to overtime because they push hard at the end. So, um had that in the back of my head as well. Um and obviously uh couple extremely dangerous players on the other side. So they they pushed hard. Um but uh just happy to get the win. That’s only two starts for you in the last month or so. The way your career has gone, is it easy for you at this point to stay ready no matter what’s going on? Uh no, it’s not. It’s really it’s it’s not easy. Um but it’s something that I’m getting I’ve gotten much better at. And um I think that you know once you know that it’s not easy, it it makes it easier if that makes sense. Um, so yeah, that’s just uh, you know, kind of my my role in hockey, in life and um, so I just try to stay ready, you know, and and be ready and, um, just happy to get the start today and happy to get the win for the guys and really appreciative for how we sold out. How would you describe this week? Because you start not knowing when you’re going to get in the net again. You get in the net in all three games in three different ways. Like, how would you just describe the away this weekend. Yeah. Uh well, as we talked about in Calgary, I tried to kind of treat Calgary as a game day for me. Uh and thank God uh you know uh so um it just worked out and uh so I kind of had a little bit of a rhythm and and you kind of have a baseline on what you want to do and how you want to be when you get in the net. Um like I said, uh the first period was was uh a grind for me tonight. Um, and the guys did a great job of keeping them uh, limited. You know, I think I thought we played a really sharp first period and we played a great second period and then um, we just found a way to win uh, at the end. So, for me personally, uh, you know, it doesn’t even matter. Uh, just happy to get a couple wins here and we got to enjoy it uh, for uh, an hour and then um, you know, we travel tomorrow and uh, it’s got to be on to the next one and I think that’s the mentality that we need to have. Sometimes it’s a save, sometimes it’s a moment where you say it clicked. Was there a moment tonight where it just felt right all of a sudden? Yeah, I think uh you know uh in the second I could kind of start to feel it a little bit. Uh and then um you know, as I said to you, uh just things things clicked for me and I in the third I felt confident. Uh um and that’s just the nature of my game. When when things feel good, they feel good. So, um, just got to harness that and you’re always trying to, you know, cradle that like a little fragile egg. So, uh, that’s that’s just what I’m going to try to do. And, uh, um, you know, I don’t know what’s going to happen moving forward, but just continue to try to take the same approach.
