LIVE REACTION POSTGAME SHOW: New Orleans Pelicans vs Portland Trail Blazers
[Music] [Applause] This program is brought to you by FanDuel, where we give sports fans the chance to win every Okay, the Pelicans. My fault. The Pelicans win. The Pelicans win. We are so We’re back. Man, Ross Pelicans 143 120 victory over the Portland Trailblazers tonight. Man, you had some you had some uh you had an outstanding game from a couple of people, man. We could start with uh start with O DQ, man. Seven assists, 17 points, uh eight to 12 from the field, man. What you seeing from DQ? Is there is there is there a change? [ __ ] it. What you seeing from DQ? Well, look, I mean, I think you’re seeing a lot of the same stuff, right? And he you know, the P he’s a phenomenal passer. you can you can genuinely run the offense through them and I like that there are certain points of the game especially in the second half I thought um where you can run like you can just run the offense through them and know that you’re going to get a good look. I thought what made the difference for him degree is that Portland without uh uh damn I just drew a blank on his name but Portland without clinging didn’t have a physical presence which really helped us on the glass tonight. It felt like this was the first time in a while we we we didn’t struggle quite as much defensively, espec and and especially on the defensive glass. So, all positives from that side. 57 rebounds for the Pelicans tonight. I I I don’t know the last they have 42. Yeah, if you could see it. You I mean, I didn’t look at the box score after, but you that’s you could feel that watching the game that we were we were we were I think more physical and outrebounding them. It stood out. I don’t know the last time I’ve seen the Pelicans have 57 rebounds in a game. Yeah, I don’t know. And 19 19 offensive 19 offensive rebounds. Um the other thing the other thing that um I mean bro it’s a lot. All right. So listen, I was telling Justin this. Justin laughed at me. I thought bro Bryce McGllins was nice. This is like this is probably like week one. I’m like yo bro McGllah hoop. Yeah. He’s like yeah okay. You know what I’m saying? But man, Rice McGaw was 23.7 rebounds, five of five from three. Ross, um the five of five made a difference. I I don’t uh it seemed like the last number I saw was 30 something. I should probably pull the box score up, but um we took 30 something threes, which felt like again felt like an increase over over some of the losses. Um and you made some more. Obviously, McGallan went what, four, five for five? Yeah, five for five for three. Look, and the best thing about McGall’s game tonight, he had a chance to shoot that six one. He was like, “Fuck that. Five for five. I’m all right.” Yeah. Let me keep you. Sometimes you got to worry about those things. You know what I’m saying? I I can respect that. I appreciate that. you you you um obviously this is a 4-1 team, but uh you think Bryce McGome is has done enough like you you would what’s your outlook on him moving forward? Uh I I can’t What up, Chaz? Well, fellas, I thought he you know I thought he had a good game tonight. I’m not gonna You just leave. Yeah, let’s not I don’t want to get a you know get ahead of myself. Um, I I thought Bryce had an excellent game tonight. And I And look, the one thing I will give him is that he seems to play with the same type of energy every night. Typically, what I’ve what I feel like I’ve been complimentary of him pri, you know, prior to tonight, obviously went five or five, but what I do generally like about his games is that he plays downhill. Sometimes it can lead to like a wild shot around the basket, but he does continue to attack. And look, this team needs guards. I I until they’re healthy, they need guard play. Um so, you know, anytime you can stumble into something, you take it. Um especially with this group, take your win and and hopefully you can build on it. Chaz, what’s good, bro? How you doing? I’m good, family. How y’all doing, man? Good to see y’all, man. Yeah, of course, man. Same. Chaz got the good lighting over there. I got my D. He got some professional lighting or something trying to show he’s trying to show somebody up. How how the stream was tonight, bro? Oh man, it was good, man. We had a nice crowd in there. Um, man, it got it got a little chaotic because, you know, Herb gets ejected. Yeah, we had four technicals. It was it was it was a whack. It was it was a dumb thing to argue about for her, but it was a terrible ejection. I don’t know what he’s saying. He could have said something. There’s almost nothing. Yeah, but but do you like I feel like there’s almost nothing in that situation. Like what could he even say? because it wasn’t it wasn’t like he stood you know sometimes I feel like if to eject somebody I gota you know we got to be you know in an altercation almost with the referee like he said something in passing come on man that’s weird that’s that’s sensitive that’s a sensitive wrestle and it wasn’t that ref that threw him out wasn’t it was the other refs from two yeah he got two from two different refs it was a bad officiating night like across the board it was pretty bad I seen that Chaz man uh Jordan Pool first game back in Five weeks. Oh man. Yeah. She got some yak in that cup. Oh no. This is uh I don’t drink red bull no more. This is like some Celsius powder. Somebody put me on. Shout out to my dog on Twitter who put me on to the Celsius powder, man. Trying to make it. I feel look like I’m dehydrated and living on the street. Actually look like you got a little yak in there. Can’t find Can’t find a [ __ ] out house, but go ahead. My bad. Nah, man. I was just gonna say what you thought about Jordan Pool uh first game back in a minute, man. 26 26 minutes, 22 points. Uh three of 11 from three shot, three free throws. What you what you thought about JP? I thought it was I thought the swag element changed the entire dynamic tonight for this team. Um, of course you had Bryce McGomes who y’all spoke about before with his incredible contribution. But I think the swag element, the not letting go of the rope and um, yeah, there’s some goofy [ __ ] happened on the sideline. He landed on somebody’s foot and he had a huge wrap on his ankle. Hopefully that doesn’t flare up and become more of an issue. But I think the fact that he just he he was like one for six from beyond the arc, but he kept shooting. Then he started getting downhill. Um, he was able to get to the free throw line just off the back. his ability to break down defenses and just his attitude. It it was an empty arena, but he was talking to them chairs, man. He was telling them chairs to stand up and make noise. And I think them chairs heard him, man. You know, um I just thought he kind of he kind of instilled some confidence in the team that you hadn’t seen. Yeah, them [ __ ] do got you. Uh they do have your little parts. I I got this CarMax right here. But um yeah, I um you you’ve seen some confidence with him playing that you hadn’t seen before. It’s just like the swag. There’s a certain swag element. I’m not I’m not making this comparison player to player, but I’m saying it’s kind of like when Chris Paul joins a team, right? The way like we might could really do this. I’m not saying he’s Chris Paul. I’m not saying that at all. I’m just saying for as the personality like he was talking to the cameras when Berago subbed him out at the end of the first quarter. He was cursing. He didn’t want to be subbed out like the dude the dude and that’s something that this team been lacking to have consistently man. Um you you wanted to we did talk about McGawas but you wanted you had any words about uh Bryce. Yeah man I thought Bryce was excellent man. I think um you know I think it’s another like shout out to uh Margaret there. I think it’s another Brandon Boston type thing. You know some nights he g he gonna have it some nights he not. Um, I think he fits the archetype of players that you need as far as like more rangy athletic build type players. Um, to where you know, shout out to Hawkins. Hawkins hit, you know, a nice streak tonight, but you know, guys who physically don’t n don’t necessarily fit that bill because he has some rebounds, too. Uh, he’s getting out of transition, hit some big threes. You need some guys who confident bucket getters at this point because you fighting for your life. You just swinging at this point and you don’t know what you’re going to hit or who you going to hit, but you just swinging and fighting for your life at this point. View the Pelicans. What was that in fresh? I’m ask you the same question I asked Ross, man. Uh Bryce McG 23 years old. Is this a is this a outlier game for him or would you look at is is Bryce a part of your I hate to use the word a part of your future, but like would you sign him to a a deal if Chaz is is is the general manager right now? Yeah. Ain’t nobody else coming around this [ __ ] Um, I like I I’ll give him I give him this Antonio Reeves type deal. Guaranteed, you know, two million Carlo type deal because you need to kind of if you’re the Pelicans, you got to hit on like that undiscovered, you know, underground talent and kind of round out the back end of the roster or even some rotational pieces because he can shoot. He He can He can defend at a a somewhat passable level. He can run. He can jump. you know, he missed a dunk, the second dunk he missed this season, but he can, you know, he can he can run, he can jump, he play with attitude. You know, you need you just need some people with some talent. And I’m not think I don’t think he gonna play every night, but I I do think he has talent. And the other thing to remember there, too, is you you don’t I don’t believe we have a second round pick this year either. McGowens went early in the second round, whatever it was, two or three years ago. He’s still relatively young. So, in in some regard, I think to Chaz’s point, if you can sign him to some smallish deal, it almost feels like, oh, well, you know, here there’s our second round pick from this year. So, you can kind of talk yourself into something that that, you know, might be helpful. Yo, uh I agree. I agree with that. I I think that could be a a win of sorts. Uh when you think about, you know, as Ross just so eloquently said it, we don’t have a pick in in either round. So you you got to come small. Yeah. Yep. I I y’all say, man, look, I’mma just say this, bro. Uh that boy ease me. I looked around tonight balling. Who the [ __ ] was that? Hey, he looked like Cincinnati Kenyan Martin in the paint. I I I was legitimately terrified that he was he was hitting that [ __ ] so hard off the backboard, bro. I I I I ducked a few times in my living room. What what y’all seeing from Ees that it it felt like a totally different basketball player than let’s say the start of the season? He felt it like a like just a more of a a threat like he he was physically imposing tonight. For me, it’s one of the like if you’re not I if if you’re not the most skilled big man for for me you could you show up in two spots two like two things begin to make a different you could say three really. One you’re you’re a legitimate rim protector which which he’s he he hasn’t proven to be consistently. Um two you’re an elite screener which he’s not. or three, you just hit the offensive glass and it w with total and utter reckless abandon, which he did tonight. And it’s like if you can just be one of those three, you can start to chip away at at a role, I think. And you know, I don’t know what he played tonight, 15 minutes or whatever, but if if you can if you can be one of those three things, you can start to make yourself useful. like the the it’s I think it’s almost like the version of a you know kind of a microwave scorer off the bench like the the big man that comes in off the bench and just is relentless on the offensive glass like that that plays like there’s a role there’s a spot for that um and I thought that’s where he made a difference tonight what’ you say Jeff yeah I think um I think he has to maximize his minutes of course um not getting many of them or Carlo I think uh it helped that it helped that we didn’t play against any centers tonight. Like damn, I ain’t clinging yang uh Robert Williams. It made a huge That made a huge difference. It made a huge difference. But to give him credit, well, damn, I guess uh Vousvich didn’t play that game neither. But to give him still to give him credit, first half of that Edy game, his to me his activity has been a lot better. His rim defense, his timing has been better. He’s picking the spots well. And I think if you’re Eve, you know, they not drawing up nothing for you. So you gotta you just got to play with high high energy at all times. Again, I would have liked to see some too big lineup tonight. I don’t like always adjusting what the other team does. Like they go small, so I’mma go small, too. Like no, it would be nice if you just rebound, just dominate on the boys and just kill them. But I think with the opportunities he did get, he didn’t hang his head when he got taken out of the game. You know, he he showed up and he contributed. What was it like 10 minutes last game? Something like that if I’m not mistaken. He’s He don’t give a damn. He when he when he’s on the court, he like, “I’m gonna just make the most out of whatever opportunity I get and um I’mma maximize it.” I think he’s done that. Yeah. I’ll just never have an issue with like if you’re going like like he blocked some shots tonight and he he got some offensive rebounds. That’s your skill set right now. Like it just is like I know there’s there’s all this other you know that he’s trying to work on this that and the other. That’s cool. Work on it in in your free time. right now you’re in activity bench big like come in try to block his pause try to block as many shots as you can that was good work now and try and try to get as many offensive rebounds as you can and uh and that’s what he did and I mean like I don’t even care if he picks up fouls trying to block shots like I’m cool with that like just just be a threat be something that people have to think about as they’re dribbling to the basket man look my homeboy shout out to my dog Rock man he he tweeted this the other day he said Uh the word bag is ruining basketball. Everybody feels like Yeah, I I totally agree with you, Ross. Like you you you athletic as hell. You can jump out the gym. Like you just need to finish around the basket. Like it was a play tonight where you’ve got a rebound. Skyed high as [ __ ] to get the rebound. And he was looking to kick it out. And I think even uh AD was like, “Look at the rim. Put put the ball back where you got just jump like that’s it. You’re already right there like tall as hell. Like just right everything don’t need to be a kickoff, man. You know what I’m saying? Like two points is two points. Uh [ __ ] [ __ ] your bags, guys. Like just just who? Um man, Trey Murphy 31 minutes, 24 points. It’s crazy. It’s crazy because Trey had 24 points. He was 10 to 13. Efficient as [ __ ] 10 to 13 from the uh from the field. Three steals. It felt like a really quiet game from him and I don’t know why. Maybe it’s just me that feels that way. 13 shots. I think because even though he was like incredibly efficient to me, he showed off his entire arsenal tonight, right? Um I think like he was pretty much going from every everywhere. At one point I think he was 941 and he had he was 0 for one from beyond the arc and I was like god damn hitting floers midies rebounding passing the ball I think um so much attention was being paid to Jordan Pool and McGawans that it kind of allowed him to a little more free reign to get downhill to hit threes. Um he’s again he’s leading the team in rebounding right now which is which is funny. Uh, I just think I just think generally overall he he had a he had a really good quality game. And I think Jordan Pool, not to take credit away from Trey, I just think Jordan Pool’s addition added to that because, you know, you taking Herb out the game, you putting Jordan Pool and McGawans in the game who are like threats from behind the arc. So you got Jeremy Grant who Jordan Pool crossed the [ __ ] out of crossed the [ __ ] out of Jeremy Grant. He missed the three, but he crossed the piss out of him. And it’s like the fact that I gotta pay attention to that and I can’t just cheat off of uh this guy chilling in the corner. I think it really added a lot to Trey’s performance tonight. I think he took advantage of that. Yeah, man. Um shout out to uh also shout out to uh that crossover by Jordan Pool, man, cuz he he sent somebody back in time with that [ __ ] Oh boy. Shut the [ __ ] out of him. He that [ __ ] was filthy. I got a question. Um, I want to ask y’all this. We We talked about um Eve’s minutes. We talked you brought up Carlo’s minutes. Carlo had, you know, one minute with Jordan Pool being back. Is it I I just It’s insane. You know what I’m saying? Like like with Jordan Pool being back though, it are we can we expect more Carlo minutes? Maybe less Jose minutes? No disrespect to Jose, but I’m saying like it I I I wouldn’t read too too much into tonight just because you I mean they they basically didn’t they they basically didn’t play like a center or really even like a power forward too much tonight. Um you know with everybody being hurt. So I I think there will still be nights for Carlo. Um now I think you’ll certainly see uh Jose’s minutes continue to to trend backward as as pool continues to get healthier. hopefully. And you got to remember Herb only played what? Yeah. 10 minutes tonight. He got thrown out too tonight. So, I mean, I think I think the the the person whose minutes will probably get eaten into here is is um is Jose. I think I mean Carlos been so inconsistent with his minutes all year that I think you’re probably just going to continue to see that. Yeah. I go ahead. I’m sorry. No, go ahead. Go ahead. I’ll go. No, no, no, no, no. I ain’t going to. So, I was going to say I think Peavey as well is a unless unless you know what you trying to you trying to get back into the draft. What you trying to do? But, um I think you know uh possibly Peavey as well, Jose. And this is where it’s where politics kind of come in because I want to say that tonight you could probably count on one hand the number of like quote unquote Jose plays that were done and that’s you know I use that in a negative context. He was very very streamlined distributing the ball. Jeremiah Fz distributing the ball effectively. Everybody played within their wheelhouse tonight. It’s the And it’s really the first time I’ve seen it. Be honest. No. What you attribute that what you attribute that to? Um, desperation. Honestly, I kind of attribute that to desperation because it’s like, look, man, I take the win. I ain’t really tripping on nothing. But another game where again, the Pelicans play differently every single night. And just like I said after the after the Queen game last night who I think played excellent tonight as well consistently hit big buckets. I was like I wouldn’t be shocked if the Pelicans don’t play like that again. And with like Queen of Top to keep orchestrating like I just that’s just not to me that’s just not how Burggo wants to coach and I understand it because historically he’s played through guards. But I think um I think that everybody played well within their wheelhouse. Nobody tried to do too much and I would like to see that continue. I do think there’s a couple outliers, but I would like to see that continue. Um, shout out to, uh, Ruthus Pragmatic. I was going to ask y’all this. You know, we talked about consistency with the Pelicans uh, foundationally and play calling as far as something working and them immediately going away from it. Thought DQ in the high uh, high post a lot tonight. center center of the floor free throw line extended and he was able to initiate uh I mean he what he had seven assists he was able to initiate for the majority of the game for the most part um that’s something that we haven’t seen from a Pelicans coaching staff uh as far as like just really running the set and sticking to it spamming like yeah yeah spam in in the words of Ruth spamming it I guess it’s not really a question just more of an observ just like [ __ ] because other teams do this to the Pelicans, right? Like why why why can’t we in turn do the same thing to them? Well, you know, they did it tonight, but I’m just happy I’m just happy to get a W, man. I don’t I don’t have a whole lot of critiques for I thought they played I really thought they played well. Like I mean, look, the the the Blazers are a wounded dog right now. I mean, yeah, they got kind of a skeleton grew. Um, just like we do, but uh, yeah, I thought you jumped out there in the first quarter. I really think they played a complete game. Like, I thought I thought they played well. You saw what you just talked about, like a kind of a a commitment to to hunting out good matchups. Um, you know, I I you know, I think you could probably attribute it some of it to P coming back and just a shot in the arm. Um, and I just think the team desperately, like with DQ playing so well, I think you you were just in desperate need of another guard, like just someone else that that could, you know, draw some attention and you got that tonight. So, I don’t know. We I’m curious to see what, you know, if they can carry this over at all. Let me ask y’all this. Uh, Chaz and Ross, like I asked Chris this question. Uh, I was texting him the other day and I was like, “How can we get Usually when Queen has a good game, Fierce doesn’t have a good game or vice versa, right? How can we get the most out of them playing together?” Truthfully, I think you got to decide who you want to maximize. I kind of said this last game, and I thought Fierce had an excellent game tonight. Um, I thought I thought Queen had an excellent game as well. I I I think that Fierce can play with Queen being the engine. I think I think it wouldn’t hurt his game as much, but I think if you have Fierce orchestrating more, I think it hurts Queen’s game to a degree. Um especially with the lack of spacing that they have right now. Um I did think I think Fierce’s ability to drive and kick is in steadily improving. had a really nice pass versus the Nets on drive and kick out to uh Trey in the right corner. Trey hits the three, but I mean it kind of got overlooked because they they lost the game, but I think his ability to get down here and kick and his uh maturity is starting to like, you know, kind of come into his own as he he dials back a bit. But I think um if you really want both of them to have a good game, look, you look man, I watched the Raptors. I’ve watched the Pelicans for a long time. Somebody got to shoot threes. Somebody somebody gotta initiate the offense. Somebody somebody gotta be the recipient of my decision making. And I think it works out better if Fierce is the recipient of Queens’s decision making versus, you know, vice versa. Yeah. Um Ross, hold on. I want to hear your thoughts on on that. But first, we got to run the shout out to Game Time. What’s up everybody? This is Ross from Propel’s Talk. Just wanted to tell you about a little deal from Game Time app. You can get $20 off your first purchase uh using our promo code PELS. The app’s incredible. I’ve been using it a bunch. All the fees are included. Uh you get great deals on seats, last minute deals. You get a view of your seat. It’s it’s I think the best last minute ticketing app there is out there. Um so use our our promo code PLS to get $20 off your first purchase. And uh go Pels. Hey man. Hey man. And shout out to my dog Ross, man. I don’t know if y’all been peeping. I don’t know if y’all My dog Ross been having the precious hats on. Like Ross been on a sixmon run of just having some really incredible hats on, bro. Like stumbled into some good hats. I I really can’t just lie. We can’t just let we can’t let that die. I got somebody I appreciate that. I appreciate that for sure, man. Means a lot. Yeah, I got you. I got you, bro. Uh shout out to uh Fierce, man, because I do think Fierce did play great tonight. Fears is this incredible uh it’s incredible first step, dog. Like he he he loads you to sleep and then the next thing you know, like as soon as you go to set up defensively, he’s by you. And I’m going tell y’all one thing I I saw that I like tonight. Um they played till the clock says zero. there there was not a a lot of holding the basketball like y’all gonna have to guard me until the clock says zero and if you want my honest opinion I think I think that’s queen and fears through I think they implemented that in this team because I’ve seen the players on this team before and they wouldn’t have did that last year. Yeah, maybe. I mean I look I I I will um I’ll attribute some of that to Bargo too. I think like especially dur I mean during the game I found there was points especially in the third quarter it seemed like where we were playing really uptempo the pace was up you know and sometimes at first first open looks the best open look you gonna get take the shot um and I think some of that is is definitely just the rookies playing with a higher tempo and and the players you have on the court right like there’s just not a when Eves is out there like run you you you got all players that can run there’s there’s no reason to slow the game down. You’re you’re not very good defensively anyway. Like your only advantage is to get up and down the court. Take the the first open look you have. Try to play fast. Get out in transition. Hell, even after a made basket, get out, you know, almost almost a simulated transition. So, I think some of that is JB. Um, some of that is definitely the rookies, but I like seeing that if if I’m, you know, where the Pelicans are, like I said, they’re not very good defensively. Like, go outscore somebody. [ __ ] it. What you think, Ch? I a lie. I just I I just I don’t I don’t even give a [ __ ] man. Just win. You know what I’m saying? Do whatever you about hook a crook, dog. Because, you know, to me, you know, the whole the process argument kind of gone out of the window this season because your goal this season was just not to get these [ __ ] a top five pick and you failing. So, just go go out there, stack your win. Shout out to my dogs at Edy’s hurt. Portland just look demolished. know Drew Holiday tonight as well. Um, who you got in front of you? Clippers just lost. You got to stack some wins, man. Like you only you five games out of 10 seed. It’s a pipe dream at this point. So, you know, I’m not this guy. Like, I’m I’m not this guy. But like he about to be this guy. But I’m be this guy. But but but the point is is like you should improve throughout the year. Yes. like you should continue to get players healthier. I think that the the longer Willie Green is away from the team, the better off like you’ll start some of those habits will continue to leak like just leak out of people’s you know what they do during the game. Like there should be a net long-term benefit. It’s just how much, right? Like is it can you can you stack enough wins to not make this look like a total disaster? And I I like I don’t think there I personally don’t think there is but there’s a shot, right? Like but there’s a there’s a shot if you can get if you can get you get it rolling down the hill and just see what happens. Um because I do I do like the effort and enthusiasm the rookies play with. Like I just do. I mean they show up every night to seem like they want to play and and sometimes that can lead to two, three, four wins in a row and then next thing you know you might be looking at things a little different. So you saying sound like you saying they fight for the win. Run it. Yeah. [Music] Shout out to my dogs. The Vic Nell law firm, man. Christmas time. Scott, they still fighting for the win. Pelicans fought for the win tonight, man. So the Pelicans play the Bulls Sunday. Winnable. All right. I’m glad you said that because I want to go down. Let’s Let’s do six games. Mhm. All right, Chaz, you think the Bulls game is winnable? Yeah. I mean, [ __ ] I thought thought about the last three four these [ __ ] been winnable to be honest. Like, you know, that’s why I I just think on paper I think prior to tonight, just on paper, they’ve been they’ve been under uh Shout out to our dog Chris Conor in the building, man. Shout out to everybody in the chat also. Shout out to Chris, man. You see, um I think if they um Yeah, I mean they stack they can stack some days, man. You know, try to try to win a few of these [ __ ] That that’s my whole thing, bro. Like, at this point, I just want to win. Uh I feel like we left a lot of money on the table. And you gota you got to put some streaks together. I don’t care what’s fair no more. Put some streaks together and win some games, man. I don’t care what you got to do. Win some games. I think the Bulls is a winnable game. Um, wait, my bad. Now, here’s the thing. Last point. Yeah, they would they may have us back and that may change the dynamic of some things because the last time we beat him, he didn’t have Boovich and Rousvich kind of been balling this season. Yeah, I mean, make make him slide them puppies, man. He got to play defense. Yeah. Uh before we get to the next game, I just want to say Ross, this is probably this probably the greatest compliment that anybody ever gonna pay you. Like honestly, yeah, I saw that. I appreciate it, Lee. I mean, that’s what was that’s that thing LeBron said that time when they asked him about he was looking at the book. He’s like a real wise. That’s how I feel about Jackie Moon. A real wise man. Oh, so they got the Rockets on the 18th. Uh at home. At home. Yeah. I’m gonna say that’s a loss. That’s just that’s just me. But you never know if you win. If you if you can beat the Bulls, that’s two in a row. You know, I see some momentum. Ah, momentum, right? Because then right after that, you got the Pacers. Winnable. Winnable. And the Mavericks. Winnable. Winnable. Good. But but even if you lose the Rockets game, if you can get four out of five, like this is what I think Chad’s alluding to. Like you ain’t got to go win. This team isn’t going to win 10 straight. Yeah. But can you go find four out of five? Yeah. C Can you go find three out of four? I I’m looking at this. I think they could. I I think they could. I I got I mean, you got the B you got the Blazers already. You could get the Bulls. You beat the Bulls. Maybe you win the Rockets. Pacers. That’s four in a row. You may never lose again. Yeah. You know what I’m saying? They might be But, you know, no, but in all in all sincerity, you you just have to go. You’re not getting back to 500. You’re not doing anything like that. You got to you got to break it into five G. Can you win three out of five, right? Like, can you can you win two out of three? You’ve got to break it into these smaller buckets and just see if you can get some damn win. You got four wins right now. Can you get to 10? That’s correct. Like, how fast can you get to 10? Right. I mean it’s not so you know I don’t know man. Chad Chad you said they uh you said they are nine games behind or some [ __ ] like that. Uh let me see. My bad. Uh I just had the [ __ ] I think they about five games behind the 10 seed if I’m not mistaken. I could be wrong. Let me see. Hold up. That’s crazy. That’s that’s Yeah, they five games behind crazy. Yeah, it’s been a a rough season. Wait, the Blazers was the Tennessee seed, right? Now, yeah, they tied with the Mavs. So, the Mavs in 10 and Memphis Memphis is just lost to ED2. So, they most important player at this point. Do y’all realize the Pelicans gonna end up getting a nice heat? I hope so, man. I do too. I do too. I just The first two months of this season was like or month and a half, whatever it’s been, has been so depressing. like I you know typically I wouldn’t celebrate that type of mediocrity but in this situ but in this situation if they claw back like let’s just say we get to February 1st or something mid January and that we’re like hey you’re two games back in the t like I then I might find myself starting to be like well [ __ ] it man like hey so you’re telling me there’s a chance right I would that would feel like you crawled out of a hole because I think when you combine that with the rookies playing wellie not being here anymore. And if you like there might I could talk myself into some kind of like well you salvaged it. You salvaged what was a horrible horrible situation because I go back you can’t give somebody the number one pick. I don’t care if Derrick Queen is the best player on earth. It has nothing to do with Derrick Queen. Yeah. Can’t give someone the first overall pick. You can’t do it. A good draft, bad draft, I don’t give a [ __ ] You cannot give someone the first overall pick. You’ve got to start winning games. Yeah. It’s like it’s like Birdie told Kyle, man, you not going to college or any [ __ ] way if the Birdman don’t win tonight. So that’s how I feel. I’m like, look, man. Oh, man. Look, they they playing fast. You know, eventually, you know, they gonna start winning some of these games, [ __ ] Eventually, it’s today. Eventually, it’s been eventually for a while now. Partner, you need to I don’t give a [ __ ] if you win ugly. What’s going wrong? Win these games, though, because to Ross’ point, you just couldn’t justify. Like I don’t give a [ __ ] who the number one pick. Number one pick never play the number one pick get arrested tomorrow and never play a single game. You could not justify trading no top I’m gonna say top four. You probably couldn’t justify trading a top four pick. That being said, man, like to to my homie point right here, other teams are going to start tanking. It’s just about who. Utah has to tank because Utah owns their pick. They pick top eight protected. Sacramento is probably going to have a fireside at some point. The Clippers probably aren’t going to tank, but do they really need to? Um, Dallas is probably going to pull the plug at some point. Memphis should tank. I don’t know if they will, but they should tank. And Portland just don’t have that that star. But could they really tank with the chanty [ __ ] going on? Like what? They were they were playing pretty good until they until they just got Yeah. until everybody got hurt. It just uh it’s just too tantalizing. Sometimes I get a chance to get me a top pick or at least I’m in the running for a top pick. Like it’s sometimes it’s too taintilizing. Like right now honestly y’all if the Pelicans had they pick we would all be saying man we should just tank like [ __ ] it. Like who the [ __ ] No doubt. Yeah man. So the fact that they don’t that’s why I’m like man I don’t care what strides you making. You better win some [ __ ] games around here because I could I ain’t gonna be able to watch TV man. So yo, somebody I I tried to like it. I lost a comment, but somebody said Zion and De Jante back in February. And I’ll be totally honest with y’all. I totally forgot the Jante was on this team. He and Cal right now. Zion better be back before February. Yo, they was doing a lot of celebrating on that sideline, dog. I ain’t gonna lie. You saw that? They got Z. I’m all they look like they they really like Jordan Pool. Jordan Pool must be a really nice guy because they was jumping out of they [ __ ] this. They look like they all get along. They ain’t hanging their heads at all except for Jordan Hawkins. Hawkins was real depressed. They ain’t even give him a warm up top. He had a t-shirt. It was cold in the arena because ain’t no body heat because the arena empty. So he’s sitting there like folding his arms and [ __ ] But um I think I think Zion gonna come back on time. Now, the Jonte thing is interesting because like Rich Paul, I don’t think Rich Paul [ __ ] around no more. I think he gonna make life difficult. You You think so? I think so because they moved him, right? And they they didn’t just move him like they moved him around the time everything started going to [ __ ] Like, you know what I’m saying? Like the Zion [ __ ] the Eve [ __ ] you know what’s going on with Jordan Pool. And next thing you know, like, oh yeah, he’s uh he’s in California rehabbing. And that bring me to a trade idea I had for y’all. Uh the Jonte to the Clippers for uh Collins. Uh yeah, I Hey, I think the Clippers desperate enough to do it. Collins expiring. He ain’t really playing anyway. I’ll be like, “Hey, what y’all trying to do, man? You know, y’all need a dog like this orchestrating that offense. Oh, yeah. I mean, I would look I would I’d take it uh for sure. The only the only issue is like we just need a guard so bad. Yeah. You think like just someone You mean like at the two or you mean like I mean I mean a table I No, I mean a gu I mean in a No. Yeah. Yes. Yes. To all of your questions. We need everything. We need help. We need guards. We just need guards. like you saw with P pool coming back to like you just need I mean because there’s not really any reinforcements come I mean I guess De Jonte at some point but you’re talking about February like there is no more reinforcements coming in the back court. Yeah, I’m thinking yeah like this is it like and so I mean because you because you got Zion and you whatever whatever is gonna happen with them eventually but this team just needs another like dynamic or or just a good like I mean how did that the Mavericks stumble into like NAR like how can we never just just stumble into like just a solid player like so Leo you got a question McD no go ahead so Leo and Ross in y’all opinion because we I agree we we need a guard we but I think we need a two particularly somebody in somebody who can shoot because shown but five for five I have settled for two threes honestly so we need somebody that consistently hit some threes who do y’all think is the most expendable via trade like just like realistically oh I think I I think her is probably when he’s healthy. Like I don’t I just don’t think losing her does a ton, you know? Like I depends on what you got that and and and I’m saying Herb because I think you could actually get something positive, you know. I I mean you could trade Well, yeah. Yeah. Some of these players you’re not gonna get nothing for them. Um, I think Herb still has some value around the league and I think you could get like a legitimate shooter back. I I I think there’s a lot of uh there’s a lot of smoke around the Hera LA um talks that I that I’m seeing on online. I agree with Ross, man. But my only thing is at this current moment, would I would I move him? It will probably have to wait until the season is over for me because because you know that’s when desperation happens. Like people just they just they they they whing trying to move up in the draft. All right, cool. I got a player for you. Like if you if you need to move up here, give me XYZ. Um I think I think on this team is probably her. But I I still think there’s a case Zion is is right there. Yeah. And look, I wasn’t Yeah, you’re you’re absolutely right. I for for these purposes, I was, you know, yes, someone would take Trey and someone would take Zion, of course. Um, but I think Herb is the realistic one just because if I’m just being honest, you’re not stopping anybody anyway whether he plays or not. It’s not like and so if his best attribute is kind of this Swiss Army knife, you know, thing. And we’ve always said like Herb is probably going to be better off being on a winner, like a team that is, you know, he’s a last piece. He’s a he’s he’s like, “Oh, we need this one specific role, Alex Caruso type thing for the for the Thunder, right?” Like that’s he’s he just I don’t mean this in a bad way. I don’t think Herb is a bad player. What I’m But I do think he’s almost worthless for for where the Pelicans are right now. I think his his production almost is meaningless because it’s not going to make a difference for for like the end goal. And so if someone else sees him as the the the end the finishing piece, you know, maybe you you get a first form or maybe you get a young shooter, right? Or you know, you never know what it would be. But that that’s why I say Herb and not, you know, Trey or Zion. Those just felt more obvious to me. Keshan Jones George would be really nice. The the reason only reason I say I think Zion more of an offseason thing is because by you giving DeAndre Jordan a real contract, you don’t have a roster spot open no more, right? So you couldn’t take back more sal you couldn’t take back more players than you sent out. So they kind of [ __ ] themselves from the standpoint of that’s why I think if you’re going to trade Zion, you got to go buy somebody. you gotta go get like a lorry or somebody who’s you can kind of consolidate and turn that into one player like you know what I’m saying or or maybe send out three players and turn those into two players but you gota you gonna have to do something like that I think was with any of your big money guys because you don’t have no roster spots right now like and you know I think um I think it it would have to be that’s why they man so it it would have to be Herb Hawkins and Jose Do let me ask you this. Do you think getting uh let’s just say John John Collins is an option like do you in turn move me is that is that a is that a move you Okay. No, I’m asking that and I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Go ahead. My bad. Go ahead. No, I’m asking that because you already you got I didn’t see uh Kavon Looney DMP situation like I I didn’t think it would be this bad. Me neither. Yeah. You know what I’m saying? So, like I I don’t know how you get out of that, but go ahead. I want to hear your thoughts. Um, no, I wouldn’t move me. I think you finally starting to kind of see what you were hoping to see. And you’re the Pelicans, man. You need you need cheap label with at least some type of upside. I think since, you know, DeAndre probably never gonna play again. He’s a he’s a probably the highest paid coach on the roster right now. And, you know, in light of some recent news, I don’t want to get I’m not gonna mention that. Never mind. But um then you got Looney. Lo this probably Looney last year. Um and he’s on a team option. He pretty much $8 million expiring. I don’t think Looney loaned for this team to be honest. Um and I again man I would just like to see more two big lineups. Um you know just because like to Ross’s point, you ain’t good defensively anyway. like you ain’t really good. But you can’t keep getting killed on the board like the offensive boards. Uh when you play real centers, you can’t just sometime a [ __ ] like Zack Ed, you got to jump them. You got to jump. You know, one person’s not going to stop this guy. One one person not stopping clinging. You got you got to jump him. Um so I I just think I would I would keep me see I would keep Carlo if possible, but I would try to consolidate some of the people who more than likely going to be out of the rotation and her uh not her not gonna be out of rotation if you can help it. But every year that they get closer to her making that 20 million at 30 years old, 29 years old, that’s the value of that contract just dropping. I know people like, well, the cap is going up. Give a [ __ ] It’s infl Yeah, inflation. But you still don’t want to pay $30 for some [ __ ] where you could get it for like five bucks. Like you’re just not going to want to do it. So I I think I think Herb probably at peak value right now. Next year it’s gonna be a little bit less. After that it’s gonna be a little bit less and a little bit less. I think I think Herb Hawkins and Jose probably you need to consolidate that into one or two good players. I think Jose probably is another viable option that I I I could see being gone by sort of deadline. Y’all think Jose opt out this contract? No. You don’t? I don’t think he does. What is his What is his contract? 4.7 next year, I think, if I’m not mistaken. But he got player option. I don’t think he I don’t think he hops out of that, you know, with the with the way that the especially that second apron is, it’s not like guaranteed. Yeah. Like you got you got like nice players who playing overseas right now because they couldn’t, you know, they couldn’t find the money. So, it’s tough. What you got, Russ? I I’m just thinking about like what who the type of teams that would want her that you would maybe get something back that you want. And I I I go to somebody like the Warriors. Yeah. I say the Warriors, Indiana. Indiana gapier. And like would the would the Warriors really feel like they took a loss you know in some kind of kuminga for you know for Herb Jones swap only see my go ahead even or even if it was something smaller Moody somebody like like somebody I think they’re going to see Herb and think winner and I don’t think they see Kuminga or Moody as like part of them you know they got Jimmy Butler old I mean they’re trying to win now and I I don’t think you know I think they have few pieces on the team that they see as maybe the future. But, um, I don’t know. I think there’s teams like that that might have a player you that would fit what you’re trying to do better than her. Would you take Lively in a first for her right now? No. Lively got chronic foot issues, but I know it might be a couple first. Yeah, I would. Leo, you say no. He’s cheating. It’s for me it’s just the first. I mean like Yeah, I see what you’re saying. I see what you’re saying. I just Yeah. I mean because the first could get you other things. You know what I’m saying? And then it’s crazy how great players and like a great player makes not being there makes Lively expendable. Like the way Luca had him as a rim runner and now it’s kind of like you know who’s doing that for him? Um I think I think a player like him Queen would obviously be good with Bears Bears would be good with once you know he settles down. But what’s what y’all think the team’s immediate need is like what is the immediate need? I think you need shooting and a center. You need you need shooting from any position you you can get. Like Collins would scratch a couple of the boxes because he could shoot as Leto pointed out before. That’s true. And you know he could he could give you some defense and rebounding at the four five. But I think again tonight you saw it like man Derek Queen got to play next to a center. If my goal is to like really because you gotta fix your defense at some point like you gotta kind of address this [ __ ] at some point. Yeah. Going into the off season really like you ain’t gonna sign the free agents really. And that’s why I think a guy like Lively people like Walker Kesler who hurt you get them for cheap and then you just start looking forward like you know you you start rounding out the roster starting to look forward in the short term. Um, you know, again with Jazz, they’re going to tank soon, sooner or later. If I could, if I could steal George from them. No, I I love Kon. Yeah. Yeah. If I if I could steal Keon from them or Oh, yeah. get somebody from Charlotte or something. But like you said, Herb only really valuable to a contender. So, who got we got we got to look at the contender list and see the Cleveland ain’t really got nothing you would want. And it depends on what your goal is too, right? Like Yeah. like would you like would you just take a first or or do you need like a rotation player or you know what I guess that’s that’s always a big part of it too is like what is you know are you looking just for salary relief because Herb on the books for four more years after you know and so are you are you looking for long-term salary relief like what is because I’m sure the Celtics would probably take her you know that they take her in a heartbeat and give you Simons and and you know Simons is an expiring can shoot. That’s somebody I thought about as well. I think I guarantee the Celtics would do something like that and and you make make the salaries work or whatever. But um it that’s what I’m saying. It just it just kind of runs for me into this this conversation of well am I trying to find something that can halfway help you salvage the second half of this year or am I just trying to figure out what fits best in the future? And that’s why when you said would you take Lively in a first for I’m like yeah because I think assuming he’s somewhat healthy next year. It kind of checks a box for for getting that rim protector in. Plus you got a pick for again a player that I think you can replace a little easier. Herb can’t be tra My bad. Go ahead. No, go ahead. I was gonna say Herb Herb can’t be traded until January 14th. Right. That’s right. Him and Kaminga. It’s funny. Him and Kaminga got the same birthday and they can both be traded on the same day. ain’t that some [ __ ] like they didn’t seem like that’s supposed to be trading for each other. Yeah, that kind of seemed like you’re welcome. You’re welcome, Kamia. I would do it because first I want to say two. Shout out to everybody in the chat, man. Make sure y’all smash the like button. We appreciate all y’all support, man. We got one, fellas. Um, shout out to my dog. Condolences to Spectacular Insight. And, uh, happy birthday to uh, Liam’s father. Shout out to Big Lim. But I wanted to say um I I view her contract as a negative asset and I think it’s going to be rapidly depreciating. I think it’s like signing a 30-y old running back if you know it just that [ __ ] is going to look ugly at a certain point. So with Kaminga at least I’m like all right if [ __ ] go bad I got a team option next year I can get out of this. I ain’t I ain’t really tripping. But with her, I’m like, “Boy, I’m on the hook for like another another four years.” And if it become a Roberson issue or if it become a Matis Styel issue or Allan Crab, Alfa Ruben, you know, any of those guys, they ain’t gonna be Silent Hill. But you get my point. Whereas like, you know, the the steak ain’t worth the sizzle. It’s like, nah, [ __ ] that. Because I just saw the Nets do this. I just saw them do it with Roy O’Neal. It worked out with my cal, but I I literally, you know, we just um do it to where like every year, you know, the return is is is worse. Um yeah, man. If I could if I could turn Herb and Jose and Hawkins into Kaminga, go y’all go ahead, do your thing, man. I wish y’all the best. Um go get him. Go get him. Golden State, man. Let’s uh let’s get to these chat questions, man. Get y’all out of here, bro. Again, appreciate the chat. Uh appreciate y’all being in here, man. What the [ __ ] They got him. Oh [ __ ] They got him. That on Q, bro. He said that [ __ ] right on Q. Oh, look. There’s What happened? He’s muted. We can’t hear you for real. Oh, you’re good. You’re good, boy. Pull. Do the pool on you, man. I don’t know what happened, man. The Pelicans got in here. They said, “I’m about to read some chat questions.” It was like, “Hold on.” They said, “Not today.” Hold on. Not today. My dog Denzel, man. Disgusted. No way. DQ has this freedom uh has this freedom with Willie coaching. JB being a coach is a blessing. Goodbye, Hawkins. Bryce is that guy. Um yeah. Uh Ted, man, shout out to Ted for the $2 Marshall, man. Shout out to Ted. I don’t know the answer. Oh, now he talking about uh he talking about this video I played this collaboration I did with the people over at Locked On. Oh, right. All right. Yeah, he talk about that. Shout out to Ted. My dog. My dog K, man. K said, uh, this game solidifies something for me that I’ve been wishing against all season. Joe is not trading Zion. He’s seeing this and going, man, them boys can play together. They just need time. I I hope you’re wrong, but yeah, my my retort to that is yes, those players on the on the court did seem like they were playing good together, right? [ __ ] You wasn’t you wasn’t playing. Ding ding ding. Laala said, “Y’all think Bill is watching all these these games?” I don’t think so. I don’t think so. I think I think he got money to spend. Would you? But I do think if he is hearing about the result though, he’s he’s pretty uh got a [ __ ] eaten grin right now. I say that. Sitting in front of the TV showing your family what you ruined is the hypol. Uh shout out to Viper DJ23. Do you guys think we got the best two players in last year draft? I really think DQ can win rookie of the year. I don’t think we got the best two best players in the draft. No, this trapping really good. I ain’t gonna lie. Um, Ace started off hot and they kind of died down a bit, but Harper Harper started to play really well. Yeah, he’s starting he started coming to his own. He had an injury. Yeah, Flags had some nice games here. I mean, look, they’re still rookies. I I wouldn’t get ahead of yourself thinking that that you got the best two players in the draft. Um, I mean, Khan has played incredible. Phenomenal. He’s been phenomenal. Um, so no, no, I mean I think you got a I think you got two of the better players in the draft. I think the best thing is you ain’t got no duds. [ __ ] duds. Yeah, I agree. Cedric been good, too. Shout out to Cedric, man. It’s been a lot of been a lot of good rookies, man. Danny Wolf started playing good as of late. Your boy uh Max Re. Yeah. But who who out? Um Sabon, right? Sabonis. Hey man, I’m just saying you got a miniscus. I don’t know. They might They might be like, “You want to come come New Orleans?” Like I think I think um didn’t Joe Dumas was there when they gossip on us, I think, if I’m not mistaken. He was because he was working in Sacramento for for a period of time. I’m not I’m not I don’t remember if that was the exact year, but I don’t know. Um, Rock 5416 said, “Do y’all think we could have drafted Cam Boozer or AJ for the first pick?” I feel Cam is a better overall player, but it feels like we I man, I don’t see it in Cam. Like, I see it in Cam in college. I understand, but like I I just Aren’t most people projecting the kid from Kansas to go number one at this point? AJ, right? That’s uh that’s Yeah. Is he hurt? That’s the one who’s hurt. Uh he he ain’t hurt. He good. I hadn’t seen Kansas play any of them. Yeah, the dude from BYU hooped a couple days ago. I did not That was the first watch. That dude was hoop. He hoop. He hooped. Um I like Man, I’m really I’m really starting to be a big Caleb fan from North Carolina. Uh he hooping. Um, but I I mean probably AJ. I mean, you drafted Derek Wayne last year, so I I can’t see you. You know what I’m saying? Going back to back power forwards. Uh, shout out to B Penton. Would y’all take Vincent Connect in a 31st for Herb? That’s a trade from some Lakers fans I’ve seen where they don’t believe the Pelicans would take, but Connect would be a huge offensive improvement. I I don’t know about huge offensive improvement, honestly. And also, no, I I just wouldn’t do that. I wouldn’t do that deal, period. I rather not get no player talent back and just get two first. If I can get a first and a a swap or something back, I I wouldn’t I wouldn’t do that deal at all. Yeah. Yeah. I I had I hadn’t seen I hadn’t seen this the whatever from Dalton Connect makes him a huge offensive upgrade. Is he who like is he even playing? I remember he remember he went through that run last year when he was playing and now he’s not really playing. Yeah. You couldn’t get a first for either one of those players for connect or Vincent. So yeah, I don’t n I think I’m cool on that one. Yeah, I’m super straight. Uh let’s see. Herb Hawkins and Missy for Jared Allen in the first. I had to think about this one a little bit. Jared Allen’s starting to get too injuryprone though, so I’mma I’mma pass. I need somebody else. Two years ago, I gotta say, yeah, I need somebody else on that deal. If if if we who if I’m giving up Mei, I might need another first. What about DeAndre uh Hunter? He makes too much money. Yeah, a huge extension before Atlanta trade. Yeah, that deal’s got to be getting close to expiring, huh? Yeah. just signed the extension, I believe. Right. Let me see. DeAndre Hunter contract maybe cuz I couldn’t believe he got it. Jared Allen. Yeah, Jared Allen. Yeah. Shout out to Token for finding Jared Allen. Um, hey, would y’all do No, Ross, you were absolutely right. Next year is his final year on that deal. Okay. Yeah. See, I remember when he signed it because that was same thing. was like, “Damn, $100 million. This cat feels aggressive.” Damn. Oh, okay. I see why now. He signed it in what, 20 23? 23. Well, that’s a hell of a deal. Oh, no. Four for 90, huh? Well, y’all, if they came to you and say, “Look, man.” Now, this deal will make a ton of sense, but if they came to you and say, “Look, man, we like what we see in Michael Porter Jr. We got picks. We don’t need no more picks. We about to build around this youth and we trying to consolidate. We want Herb Jones and we will give y’all Cam Thomas. What was that? At five. We will give y’all um you can either have Cam Thomas and a first or you can get um Stop right there. Say no more. Say no more. Sounds nice. Take us there. Or or you could have Nick Clen maybe and one of rookies. We got we got Buu rookies. Nick Cl that kind of long deal though. Uh but he’s he’s playing good this year. Um I don’t know any of them rookies really doing [ __ ] No, Eigore. That’s one of that’s one of those I’ve been saying this forever like that pick next year is always better than that pick last year. Yeah. Yeah. Just don’t once you make four draft picks, dog, that’s insane. Once you make them pick, it’s like, yeah, he looks okay. Yeah, you hang on to him. A [ __ ] Yeah, I don’t know about that one. You knew it either. Yeah. Yeah. I asked because his contract is uh starting to decline. Nick Class contract, I I believe steadily declining. What was it like 480 or something? Yeah, I think something like that. I think next year is like what 16 million or something if I’m not mistaken. I know it’s something along those lines. But Cam restricted, you know, Cam I ain’t think Cam was gonna get no money in the first place, but he absolutely not getting no money now. That’s [ __ ] up, dog. Him and uh what you want from Kesler? Uh, both of them, man. With DQ out there trying to bring back the Princon offense, uh, rest in peace, Pete Car. Uh, I guess, man, last one. Let’s get a good question. Shout out to D. Let’s get a good question, man. Um, Cl have triple double versus the Pelicans. That’s crazy. That ain’t even classing game. He’s like, no, he like racking up assist this year. I ain’t got to watch him play yet. I ain’t got to watch the Nets play, but like that dude’s putting up some like crazy like he’s having a couple. Somebody will. That’s crazy. It’s my time. Yeah. What would you What would you think of a a rotation starting five when we’re healthy? Z shouldn’t start every game. He’s a delicate flower. A rotating starting five when we’re healthy. Well, you know what? If I could if I could adjust that question a little bit. Do y’all think not starting Jordan Pool today was disrespectful? No. So long. Do y’all think starting Herb the other day was disrespectful? That’s why I asked. What’s the content? What do you mean starting Herb like? Yeah. His first game back Herb started Herb had an excellent game too. I think you had to though because it was a different like because pool wasn’t starting when when he went out and when Herb came back that’s when we didn’t have anybody playing like he had to start. Now here’s where I’m going with this. Here’s where I’m going with this. Do you start Jordan Pool moving forward? Now that’s where it get dicey though because the obvious candidate is probably like well [ __ ] Sadique Bay had like 10 rebounds tonight. He was a monster on the boards. I can’t take him out. Look, this has been my This has been my unpopular opinion from the jump. Like, I think Jordan P is better. Always disrespectful. That’s [ __ ] up. Play game. Go ahead. I I just think P’s better in the role, like in that role. He’s still going to play 30 minutes. Like, I just think he’s better as a six-man. I I don’t like I don’t No. I mean like I don’t like probably not but I don’t give a [ __ ] Yeah. At this stage, right? It ain’t I mean it ain’t like you can’t treat every player like a gym. Yeah. Like every everyone True. Everyone doesn’t like what has Jordan Pool done in his career to earn the right to come in here and demand a start. You’re like, “Hold up now. Ros got jewelry and he was a big factor on that. I got to push back a little bit.” And that’s years ago and yeah, he wasn’t. And I don’t believe he was starting then or he might have. I mean, but he was playing. That’s what I’m saying. He’s never fringe starting. I like Pool and I’m not saying, oh, he should like he’s still going to play 30 minutes a night. I just think it makes more sense for him. Like at this point, Fierce is not coming out of the starting lineup. And I I don’t care one way or the other, but I I would No, that’s interesting. I don’t think so either. I think at this point you’re earning his keep. I’ll say that. Yeah. I think at this point you kind of just got to let him got to let him cook. So let’s say Zion come back. Desante back. Fear starting. Zion starting again. What do you do with her? like what what do you do? Do you start the Well, you ain’t starting the Jonte. It’s going to take the Jon some time to get back and it’s kind of unfair to him anyway to throw him in that that role. But it’s like, what do you do? Got a real 10-man rotation here. I mean, Dejante not starting for me. No, he not he not starting. That’s not even a question you have to like consider next year. Like that’s And I mean like I mean like basketball season. Yeah. Like I don’t even we keep saying February like I don’t know but then but the Dejante one’s easy that’s not you address that [ __ ] next year. Yeah you he definitely not starting this year. And the best part about it is if you play it smart you not you don’t even have him next year like like this summer is the end. My my question would be mainly what maximize and it’s not a knock on Jeremiah F. I just think Jeremiah Fizz can thrive a little more independently of everything else. My thing would be like, how can I best put Trey and Queen in position to succeed in that starting lineup? And I think you need spacing. So that that’s why it’s like I don’t know if you get if you get a stretch five or something that that’s one way you could do it. But it’s just tough. And and look and just to be totally transparent, like I don’t think it’s the I don’t think it’s a bad like if they start pull for her next game, I’m not gonna be like, “What do we do?” Like I I’d be fine with it because because because we we’re not stopping anyone anyway. And so if the argument is like like, “Hey, look man, we just putting the best offensive players out there and we gonna try and score as many points as possible.” I’d be like, “Hey, I’m cool with that.” I’m just my thought is I personally just think Paul’s best on a like if he’s on a good team I think his his role is best sixman playing 28 minutes a night you know basically playing the exact same way he plays now but yeah on this team [ __ ] I mean hell if they want to start if they want to start him and just try and score 150 points tonight I ain’t tripping the thing I like the most man well that I hate the most really is that it’s no right answer when a team won four [ __ ] games when your team is 4 and 22 too. And it ain’t no right try. Yeah, you could try anything right now. Go for it. Yeah. Who cares? What’s the worst that’s gonna happen? Yeah. A bunch of games. Like, oh, tough luck. Like, what the [ __ ] Yeah, I want Reed Shepard. If they give me Reed Shepard tomorrow for her, I’m doing it. Hell yeah. Reed Shepard and give me give me a first and Reed Shepard. Let’s do it. Y’all go win a championship. Durant gonna retire and start a weed farm or something and and I don’t give a [ __ ] Let’s go for it. Or give me Jabari. Ei e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e either way I’m good like let’s do that real and herb. Yeah, it ain’t gonna have no spacing, man. Um [ __ ] That’s that’s real. I know Rash got a dip and uh that’s all I got, man. Y’all got you got anything else, Chaz? Nah, man. Uh I we’ll see everybody Sunday, man. going live uh for the game Sunday. Um we gonna be here during the post game doing the Sunday show, man. Let’s get another W, man. Stag days, chop wood, carrot water. That’s a good book, too. Yeah, man. For sure. I didn’t know that was a book. I thought Kyrie made up actually. Yeah. Oh, we got it on the shelf. Come on, man. We don’t [ __ ] around. I’ve been read I’ve been reading this book. Kevin Durant, I mean, uh LeBron James recommended. Come on. Wise manise my [ __ ] introduction he reading Lazy Davis he know he reading a review oh the prologue like what you think he’s reading the dedication at the very reading the serial number like real wise man yeah wise man wish I had pictures in this book but All right, man. Peace.

Facts this team desperately needs a real ball handler that can playmake for others. Doesn’t even have to be a pg if the offense is run through queen
I’d trade Zion, Herb and Hawkins for Kuminga and Buddy Heild… All day
Trey for Zacch and our pick back 🔥🔥🔥
Trade DJM or Zion + Hawkins + a center and you have a good rebuild
I am fine with Fears, DJM, Poole, Jose as guards.
“Serious teams” aren’t scouting Fears the way JP gets scouted/covered. Two different play styles but still – the new pace of this offense should prioritize the likeness of a Jordan Poole archetype (since defense is clearly not in the frame)
Plus, Poole’s best stats & basketball tape come from being a majority starter when with Golden State & Washington
Ross, the only reason Jordan Poole didn't start in Golden State is because he was playing behind 2 HOF guards in Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
At that time they were both still at the top of their games and trust me, most players in the league would start over them.
Lastly when Poole did start in place of one of them his average jumped from 20ppg off the bench to 26ppg and 6asp when he started over 40 games his last 2 season there. He was able to step in and win games for Golden State with the stars having to play.
Just helping you out with more information so people have a better understanding of why he didn't start. It wasn't because he wasn't good enough.
If Poole were still in Golden State today, he would start.
