Between the Detroit Pistons and the Atlanta Hawks, the Detroit Pistons coming in off a 124 112 win over Milwaukee in their last matchup. getting hooked in that game depending on where you got the line because the closing line I have here says 12 1/2 and you know they won by 12. They still won four of their last five, but this is a Pistons team that’s gone just 1 and seven against the spread in their last eight games. So, it’s definitely something to be I think a little bit concerned about with the the Detroit Pistons if they’re not necessarily winning games by margin as much as they were early on in the year. But on the other side, you got the Atlanta Hawks who are 14-1 on the year straight up and against the number. They’re coming off a 136, excuse me, 131 1116 win over the Washington Wizards in their last matchup. And this is a matchup these two teams met back on December 1st. It was a one-point win for Detroit in this very building. So now, you know, the the assumption is that, you know, Atlanta can just come back in and, you know, keep this one respectable again. And I got to keep I got to give the Hawks credit. you know, this is a Hawks team that, you know, was missing Trey Young for a lot of the season and, you know, without him, they’ve still been able to band together and really sort of put together some solid results. Now, the problem for Atlanta in this game is that they are missing a fair amount of talent in this game. You know, Folly Dante’s in the concussion protocol. Chris’s Porzingis is listed as out with an illness. They’re still missing Jacob Toppin. They’re still missing Trey Young who’s still dealing with that MCL sprain. So, it’s just going to be a matter of when they can get Trey Young back into the fold. But that being said, I think that Atlanta will be able to be competitive in certain spots. I just don’t know if this is one of them. This is still a Detroit Pistons team. It’s one of the best in the NBA. And you look at some of the the injuries for the Pistons and the guys that are listed on the injury report. It’s I’m not saying that, you know, nobody’s important. I’m just saying it’s just most mostly role players on the injury report for Detroit. Uh, you know, Tobias Harris, you know, is listed as day-to-day with an ankle issue and Bobby Clintman. Um, but you still got, you know, the core group here. Jaylen Duran, Kate Cunningham, Sar Thompson, Isaiah Stewart, and and I just think that at its core, while Atlanta, like I said, will be able to compete and give some teams some fits at times this season, I think that Detroit is just the better team in this matchup. Now, you know, will it come down to it in this match? Maybe we come down to, you know, a narrow line once again. Well, maybe, but we’ve seen Detroit win both meetings this season. One meeting was by eight and one meeting was by by one point. So, it’s a version of which which uh which tale does this game tell? But I think Detroit gets the winning cover here. I think that Chris Daps Porzingis being out is is a significant injury for this uh for this Hawks team for this game. I think the Pistons get the job done at home in this one. They’ve had some time to rest and, you know, get it done at home. So, I’m going to take the uh the Pistons here. And that is my free pick for this game.
