REPORT: Latest Tarik Skubal RUMORS! | New York Mets | Mets News | Mets Rumors | Mets Hot Stove | MLB

What’s up Mets fans? Welcome back to the channel. As we getting recent reports according to John Haymon that the Mets are discussing internally if they’re going to go all in on Sai Young award winner Tyreek Scubble. That is something that was kind of far-fetched thinking couple of days ago with the Alonzo departure, the Diaz departure, and a couple of weeks ago trading Brandon NMO. And it seemed like the Mets are kind of rebuilding or retooling. But the discussions are happening internally about the New York Mets and what they are going to do if they’re going to use their top prospects to land school. They have the assets. they have the money. We all know that Terry Scooel and the Detroit Tigers were talking about an extension early in the off season. Obviously, that didn’t pan out so well and the re the big reason why they’re probably going to trade him. So, if Terry Scuba is willing to sign an extension with the Tigers, he would be willing to sign an extension with the team that trades for him. Not only because if he doesn’t, he can risk injury. He can risk not having a good season. And we all know about the CBA situation that is going to happen after the end of the 2026 season. And we don’t even know if there’s going to be a season or even an offseason for that matter. So, a lot of players that are free agents after this year have to really think about securing their years, their contract before that CBA is up because we don’t know what’s going to happen in regards to the possible salary floor, salary cap, or whatever might jeopardize or hurt the players in contract situations in contract negotiations. That is why I think the Mets, even if they cannot extend Tyreek School, you’re going to have the best pitcher in baseball for the 2026 season. 30 32 33 starts, you’re going to have the best pitcher in baseball. That is a start of something good for the New York Mets. And oh, by the way, we have Nolan Mlan as our number two. And now we have a bunch of other guys in our rotation that are going to be three, fours, and fives and not worrying about them being top end of rotation guys who aren’t top end of the rotation guys. That is something that that is what Tariq Scuba does to your rotation in in a nancond. Now, are the Mets going to do it? That’s the issue. if they’re talking internally. John Heymon also reported in his little article saying that the Mets want Tyreek School. So when I hear that, why is there a discussion? If you want him, go get him. I I don’t see the problem or the issue with discussing it. if you want them. And clearly Steve Cohen is allowing David Sterns to do everything and he’s signing off on everything. That’s obvious. David Steve Cohen came out with a quote from the New York Post stating that he know the Met fans are upset, but we’re still going to build a playoff. We’re going to try our best to build a playoff team. So, he’s signed off on everything David Sterns has done to this point. If David Sterns wants Tyreek Scooble, you go get him. I don’t care that he’s a rental. The same people that are talking about a rental with Terry Scooel are talking about Peralta. He’s not as good as Tik Scubble and he’s also a rental. I want the best available guy. Go get him. Why do we always have to play second fiddle and get the lesser pitcher? Would I be upset if we get Peralta? No. But what is Peralta going to cost? Two prospects, two top 10 prospects when Scubble might be three top 10 prospects. I mean, it’s not a tremendous amount of difference. And guess what? You’re getting the best pitcher in baseball. Make that move. Do what you need to do to get better. And you get him in your clubhouse, in your organization the entire rest of the offseason. the entire season to work on an extension. Do you anybody really believe that Steve Cohen is not going to cough up the money when he knew David Sterns went out there and made an aggressive trade with multiple prospect for TKO. You think they’re just going to let him go away. And I’m not saying TK Scoop is going to sign here, even if he does become a free agent or extend with us. But you know what? I think you have a better chance of having him internally than having him go to another team and liking that other team and maybe sign with extension with them. So that whole, oh, wait until he’s a free agent in the offseason is over and now you’re back to square one. Go get the guy you want him. The internal discussion should be all right, what type of packages we’re going to send or we’re going to offer to the Detroit Tigers. That’s what should be the conversation. Not if we’re going to go get him. No, that should be an easy answer. Everybody should raise their hand around the desk. It’s what you’re willing to give up. And to be quite honest, there shouldn’t be anybody untouchable except for Nolan Mlan. From your number one prospect all the way into your number 10 prospect, nobody should be untouchable except for Nolan Mlan. Even with Nolan Mlan being untouchable, you got more than enough assets to get the deal done. It’s just a matter of if David Sterns is willing to cough up the prospects. David Stern, unlike just like a lot of fans, are prospect huggers, right? They want everybody, but they don’t want to give up anybody. That’s a problem. you can get it done and still have a very good farm system and still have enough guys in your farm system to still fill holes at the major league level if need be once the off seasonason is over and whatever else you do to bring in talent. You can send three top prospects and still have enough guys to fill holes if needed. It should get done. And my proposal looks like this. We’ve heard the Detroit Tigers says they would like a combination of major league talent and top prospects and the Mets also have that at their major league level. They have too many guys that are filling or are blocking each other and they have pitching that they can use in a trade. A David Peterson and a Sena. They have Mauricio. They have Akunia. They got Vientos. They possibly have Batty. None of those guys just stop a deal. And obviously they have top prospects as well. So if this was me, this was what I would do to land Tariq Scubble in. It looks like this guys. The Mets get Terry Scooel. Obviously the Tigers get Carson Benz, Jet Williams, Jonah Tong, and Kodi Sanga. Number two, three, and four prospect. You keep Nolan Mlan, you keep Brandon Sprro, you keep Brian Clifford, you keep a good amount of your guys because Jet Williams doesn’t seem ready yet. We haven’t really talked about Jet Williams. They haven’t really talked about him being ready. Jonah Tong, we know, is not ready. Carson Benj seems like he’s going to get a great opportunity if he’s on this in this organization to get a starting job, but you got to give to get. And when when it comes to Jet Williams and Jonah Tong, they’re not ready. So, yes, I’m definitely willing to give those guys. Would Carson Benj hurt a little bit? Absolutely. Absolutely. But you got to give to get. And Carson Benj will hurt a little bit, but you still keep another pitching prospect in Brandon Broke. You still got Ryan Clifford here. You still got enough guys in your farm system. AJ Euan, Sanuchi, Elellon Pñena, all those guys are still there along with Nola Mlan who’s going to be one of your top pitchers. You’re going to be okay if you make that trade. And also, you got the best pitcher in baseball. I do that in a heartbeat. What does Kodi Sanga do? It slots a rotation spot in for the Tigers. It gives Carson Bench, who everybody seems like will get a the opportunity to play left or center field for the New York Mets. Tigers can use that. He can be possibly ready this year. Jet Williams is promising. He can play Shaw, second base, outfield. Jonah Tong, yes, is a is a is a is a work in progress, but he does have talent. This is a very competitive offer. And why am I doing this? Because I’m not playing games. David Sterns played games with Diaz and leaving the door open for the Dodgers to get him. He failed. He lost that battle. Leaving that door open. Come with a competitive offer so you can have the Detroit Tigers continue to have that conversation with you so they know that you’re serious. so they don’t go off to other teams who might not have better prospects, but they’ll have a better combination of prospects to give the Detroit Tigers. Don’t let that conversation happen or don’t let that conversation get serious. Let them focus on your guys and your conversations and your negotiations. This is where the Mets need to be aggressive. If you’re aggressive, guess what, guys? Pretty good chance you’re going to land them. This can’t be another Garrick Crochet situation where the Mets were in and then they saw the price and they ran away and it ultimately cost them. They can’t have that happen again. You can’t keep on losing out on guys because you’re given halfass offers and waiting for market to develop trademark wise and then you lose out on a player. That’s what happened to Garrick Crochet and it better not happen with Tyreek Scubble. So let me know in the comments guys what you think of my offer of Carson Benz, Jet Williams, Jonathong and Kodi Sena going to the Tigers for Tyrese Google. Let me know in the comments guys what you think of my trade proposal and give me your own in the comments guys. Thank you guys for watching and as always Met fans, let’s go Mets.

  1. We ain’t getting no one!! Stop stressing yourself out and giving yourself false hopes. Once you let it go and realize it the healing process begins. This team ain’t doing 💩

  2. Rob, CP put out a video saying that the Tigers are looking for the same kind of return Washington got in '22 when they traded Soto to SanDeigo. In his video, he also said the Mets have said McClean is the only untouchable. I would like to believe that your proposal or something clise to it would get it done. But we shall see.

  3. Who cares if you have the best sp in baseball if you have no shot of winning a ws with him ??? And for one year na. With a three dumb philosophy and tearing the team apart makes no sense pass. Not moving benge in this scenario.

  4. ive said it for a month as they said they would need to be overwhelmed by a deal. The odds of the mets winning the world series according to draftkings is 1600 to 100 or 6.25% and that is before they let alonso and diaz walk. The dodgers are 370 to 100 or 27% likely to win or 4 times more likely and still are more likely to not win another WS as a 73% chance not to win. This is the first time you've been open to this opinion and it took stearns blowing up the team to open you to it as you've stated we are in WIN NOW MODE. Im objectively pointing out even if we sign Tucker, framber valdez and trade for contreras it is still a bad idea to trade 3-4 of those pieces when we have so many holes and aren't an ACE away from winning the WS…we will still be under 10% chance to win… and that is like PUNTING on our future chances of winning the WS once we develop mclean/tong/sproat/benge/baty and williams. im ok giving up sproat and jett in a huge trade like getting buxton and ryan and obviously you probably need to send peterson or senga and more to do so… or for jarren duran… but not for steven kwan who i also like or for contreras who i like etc. Im just trying to have a 2 way conversation about what stearns and the mets should do to be PERENNIAL WS contenders not just a 1 in 10 to 1 and 16 shot. I think stearns shouldn't punt on 26 he should build a playoff team but in 26 offseason you outbid everyone for skubal or peralto or at that point trade for an ACE.

  5. wow rob… that is a bad deal… you will be under 10% to win in 26 and more likely under 7%… he is only here for 1 year and he might not resign. even if he does resign you can just patiently wait until next year to outbid whoever is still available in free agency. read my other comment for more details. also there was a report that CP covered that they want a deal of up to 4 of a teams top 5 prospects.

  6. Yup I agree useless! The Stearns brothers just killed the offseason! Had they not gotten rid of Diaz and Alonso it would’ve been different! Not worth going after Schubal on a 60-70 win team

  7. Biggest issue the Mets face is the fact that the Tigers want to trade him to the Dodgers. They have been the most vocal about wanting a salary cap and what better way to accomplish that than sending Skubal to the Dodgers. This doesn’t mean the Mets can’t get him, it just means they will have to outbid the Dodgers offer by a lot to make up for that incentive. Dodgers current offer already includes 2 top 100 prospects and Sheehan. So Mets would probably need to do McLean and 3-4 top 100 prospects

  8. But I’m going to be honest with you? I don’t want Schubal this year on a 60-70 win team! Thank the Stearns brothers. For that! They did their work well! I’d rather try to sign him next year when he becomes a free agent. He’s not worth being on a 60-70 win team next season in 26

  9. Skubal is not gonna be available at Free Agency because whoever trades for him and I believe it’s gonna be The Dodgers are gonna sign him to an extension because of the lockout that’s coming Boras and Skubal want to take advantage of that.

  10. I don't think the Mets going to trade for him I think it's all nonsense talk but I would definitely trade for him The only guy I would not give up is McClain and probably one of the top outfield because we're going to need one of them this year besides that why do we hold on to these prospects too long Okay they're going to be great players how many can we use

  11. Why bother when some of your best players are gone plus Stearns doesn't hand out long term contracts to pitchers. Why would he even want to come to the Mets? This off-season sucks unless they do something but I'm not sure this is the answer
