Charlie McAvoy Reacts to His Return to Lineup After Jaw Injury

Just how much fun was that for you after being out and everything you’ve gone through? A lot of fun. The guys have been playing great hockey. Um so it’s been, you know, it’s always tough to sit out. Um you know, especially when they’ve been looking like they’re having a lot of fun and playing really good. So um it’s a joy to be back. Um playing with this group and we had a great game tonight. Um that’s a big road win and um just to go into the third like that and then finish it out the way we did uh just just a great win for us. Were you expecting to play that amount of minutes? I mean, I know you had to play more cuz I don’t even know how much I played, but um I got to look when we’re done, but aspie going down early like it stinks. It seems like we’ve had a little bit of the injury bug. Um as a whole team, so uh hopefully whatever that was, it won’t be too long for him. Um you know, wishing him the best and uh yeah, 5D is tough, but we made it happen for for the last two periods. Um, you know, a lot of that’s on the forwards too to play a good game in front of us so we can, you know, manage that. Boco said the last couple of days you just looked really happy out there. Was how much did you have to contain your excitement to? Yeah. Trying not to, you know, just stay where my feet are is what I kept saying like um you know, I’m ramping up and getting excited and wanting to come back and this team really is special. It’s a lot of fun to be a part of. It’s a lot of fun to come to the rink and um you know, I knew I was going to be back soon, but we didn’t know exactly when. So, it ended up being today, the option to play. And, um, you know, I just wanted to jump back in. Uh, often times when when you know, the doc says it’s safe. Like, you just want to get back in because you know, a night like tonight, you get the conditioning back on the fly, this the speed, the pace, the playing. Like, the best way to get it back is to just play. So, it was good to get into it tonight and happy to be a part of the
