Houston Texans Week 15 Rooting Guide + Updated 2025 AFC Playoff Predictions

[Music] Welcome into Texans Today everybody. I’m your host Jeremy Chugs and on today’s show we’re going through NFL week 15 and going through a little rooting guide on, you know, who you should be rooting for, who do we want to win, who do we want to lose, what gives the Texans the best chance to a make the playoffs, and b win the division. We’ll talk about those on today’s program. But, uh, I’m a big trivia guy. My producer Dylan, he loves trivia as well. So, trivia question for you. In the Texans, first ever playoff game in franchise history. I I’ll give you who they were playing. It was the Cincinnati Bengals. Who scored the first touchdown of the game for the Bengals? They went up seven to zero to start the game at NRG. Who scored that first touchdown for Cincinnati? Let’s see who the real balln knowowers are down in the comments section. I’ll be looking. Let me know who scored that first touchdown for Cincinnati up against the Houston Texans. As we look forward, let’s look at the updated AFC playoff picture as the Texans for the first time this season after a win in week 14 are in the wildcard spots. They are currently holding that seventh spot in the AFC playoff picture. holding on to that wild card spot and hopefully they can keep a hold of it because the next four games pretty favorable for your Houston Texans. You play the Cardinals this week, then you play the Raiders in week 16. This one’s going to be a toughy. Uh they actually changed the date of this. They flex this week 17 game against the Chargers. It’s now on a Saturday at 3:30. So that should be an an interesting game right there between, you know, the Texans and the Chargers who we played in the playoffs last year. And then we play the Colts in week 18. So, a lot of good matchups and should be a lot of good football that we’re looking forward to over the next four weeks for your Houston Texans. Now, let’s go around the league for this week. Obviously, the first one, Tech, we want the Texans to beat the Cardinals. That’s the easiest one, right? We want the Texans to beat the Cardinals in week 15. This one a little bit trickier, right? Bills against the Patriots. We want the Patriots to win this game because they already have a hold of the AFC East. And a loss to Buffalo helps you more than a loss to the Patriots cuz no matter what, the Patriots, they’re already in the playoffs. They’re 11 and2. I think they could lose out and still possibly get that last wildcard spot. The Patriots are good. So why not keep them up there? And personally in the playoffs, I’d rather go and play the New England Patriots in the divisional round or in the wildard round than having to go to Buffalo and play the Bills. I mean, I know we, you know, destroyed them on that Thursday night football game, but in the playoffs, it’s still Josh Allen. I’d much rather face Drake May than Josh Allen. I don’t care how they’ve looked this year. Whenever the rubber meets the road, whenever it’s playoff time, still give me the Bills over uh over the Patriots. I I think the Bills, you know, whenever it comes down to crunch time, would be a better team than the Patriots. Even in Foxboro, the Bills currently one and a half point favorites. So, something to watch. This is going to be a really good game to watch between the Bills and the Patriots. Let’s go to the next game between the Bengals and the Ravens. Joe Burrow, he’s not having any fun in Cincinnati this year. He said that earlier. Uh everybody’s kind of freaking out on Burrow because he was like, “Oh yeah, I’m not just not having a good time.” basically. Um, but we want the Bengals to win this game. They’re already 4-9 and I know the Ravens are six and seven. I’d rather them be out of the playoffs. I I don’t want to face the Ravens. Lamar Jackson, kind of the same thing I just said around uh Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. I don’t want to play the Ravens in January or February. I don’t want any part of that. So, I’m okay with the Bengals winning this game. It’s in Cincinnati. Ravens still two and a half point uh favorites in that one. Give me the Bengals. You’re We want to be rooting for Joe Burrow and Cincinnati in this game. Reminder, answer that trivia question down below. Who scored that first touchdown? But yeah, we’re we’re all going for the Bengals this weekend in week 15. Now, maybe the biggest matchup this week because I know I said, you know, quitessentially the Texans knocked the Chiefs out of the playoffs. They still have a little bit of life. They need to win out and they need a couple things to happen along the way as well. They need a lot of help, but I’ll say this with a loss in week 15 to the LA Chargers. I think that’s put a fork in them, they’re done, you know, but they’re officially out of it. If they lose week 15 up against the Chargers and I I don’t want to see KC again. I don’t want to see the Chiefs again. You know, we already played them once. We already beat them. you know, we haven’t we prior to that, we hadn’t beat him since 2019. So, I’d rather not test that theory out again up against Kansas City in the playoffs. I’d rather than just be out of it. We already know the Chargers will play the Chargers in a couple weeks again, but I I would say the Texans have a much more favorable matchup against the Chargers rather than Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Like I said, I know the Texans beat them a couple nights or, you know, this past week, but still, I I’m okay with not having to play the Chiefs again this season. What say you, though? Would you be scared to play the Chiefs again in the playoffs? Give me a yes, give me a no. I know they’ve had a down year, but at the end of the day, it’s still Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. They were without all their offensive linemen. Likely, if they make the playoffs, a lot of those guys will be back. So, I don’t want to test it. I I I’d rather stay away from Kansas City. I’m typing my yes. I I don’t want to play them. I know we have the number one defense and maybe a gener generational defense with this Houston Texans team. They have a generational quarterback with Patrick Mahomes. I I’m not trying to test that or play them again this year. Let’s go to the next matchup. This one’s a little bit easier for us Texans fans because obviously we have an NFC team with the Packers playing the AFC team with the Denver Broncos. So, sure. Yeah. I mean, Packers win. I I’m cool with that. That leaves the Broncos if they win out with that number one seed in the AFC. And I’d rather face the Patriots than the Broncos in the wildard round. If we had to, if we had the last wild card spot, we would face the two seed. I would rather face the Patriots than the Broncos, travel to Foxboro and face, you know, a secondyear Drake May, then play, you know, Bo Knicks and that vaunted Broncos defense. Like I like I I think call me crazy, but I’d rather face the Patriots than the Broncos. So, in this one, I’ll go with the Oh, I know I said the Packers. Do I want the Broncos to win this one, Dylan? Yeah, we’ll go with the Broncos. I I’ll say Broncos can win this one just because Yeah, I’d rather face the Patriots than the than the Broncos. Yeah, I I’m going to switch my answer. I’m going to go with I want the Broncos to beat the Packers here. I know I know it really doesn’t have that much of a, you know, hold on this Texans team, but yeah, at the end of the day, I’d rather face the Patriots than the Broncos. So, yeah, Broncos can win out. They they can win this game up against the Packers. Plus, my oldest brother is a Packers fan. Um, fa cheese heads. Yeah, they can take a loss. Let’s go to this next matchup between the Steelers and the Dolphins. This one I have a more definitive answer on for you. We want the Steelers to win this game for multiple reasons. won. I talked about the Ravens earlier in this episode. The Steelers winning helps us keep the Ravens out of the playoffs again because if the Steelers win out, they will win their division. And then that also knocks out the Dolphins. So, it’s a twofur on this one. One, you get the Steelers, which I’d much rather face the Steelers than the Ravens in the playoffs. And then two, you knock out another team going for the wild card in the Miami Dolphins. This is going to be a big game with a lot of implications. that the Steelers lose this game, the Dolphins, they still have hope at getting a wild card spot. And then the Steelers, they’re, you know, kind of back to being even with the Baltimore Ravens. So, I’ll be going for Pittsburgh in this game. Some more rooting guide to go. But before we do, isn’t this pretty dope? A Texans WWE Yeti belt and it’s on sale now. All you got to do go to chatports.comex belt. And what is this? What? Oh, I have one. I have one. Yeah, the Texans Yeti belt. And this thing is dope. Look at this. It’s absolutely sick. It comes with the clip so you can kind of wear it like a fanny pack. And the best part, it holds your beers. It holds your beers. It can hold up to like three or four beers depending on the size. I absolutely love it. You can also wear it like this, kind of like a WWE belt, but this thing is sick for the holidays. If you get it right now, it’ll come in time. All you got to do use this code right here, chatports.comexansbell. I’ll put that in the comment section and description of today’s video. But the champ is here because I went to chatsports.comex belt. All right, let’s go to the next matchup that we’re looking at. Another very simple one for Texans fans. Colts up against the Seahawks and Philip Rivers is probably starting which this is I mean in the year 2025 I I can’t believe I’m even uttering the words Philip Rivers is starting this one. Uh but pretty simple in this one against an AFC South opponent. We want the Seahawks to win this one. I’ll definitely be watching this game because I think we all it it’s like a it’s it’s like that old cliche. It’s like a, you know, like a train crash. Like you can’t keep your eyes away from it. We all want to see what Philip Rivers looks like. Like is he as bad as that? Like will he just come out there slinging it? Like is he going to be tired in the third quarter? Is he going to have to take a nap at halftime? Like what is Philip Rivers even look like this year? The Seahawks, they’re 12 and a half point favorites. And um I’m I have it on good authority. Our Seahawks host Will Ortner said if the Seahawks lose this game, he’ll go ahead and rip his hair out. So, we’ll have to see how that one goes for my guy Will Ortner and the Seahawks channel. Next up, Jets up against the Jags. Another simple one for you. We want the Jets to win this one. If the Jags lose a game, if they lose a couple games and the Texans can overtake them and win the AFC South. So, why not start with this game up against the New York Jets? We’re all rooting for New York. You know, the big game I told you earlier this week is that week 16 match up against the Broncos because if they only lose one game, it needs to be against the Broncos or their final two games up against the Colts or the Titans. That will help the Texans overtake them and win the division. Jags heavy favorites though, 13 and a half point favorites up against New York. And then the final one, I know I what I just said about the ASC South teams, but we’re all rooting for the Tennessee Titans in this one. We want we don’t want them to have a good pick in the draft. So, let’s go Cam Ward. Come on, Titans. Let’s get a win up against the 49ers. I’ll be going for Tennessee just to make sure that they don’t have a top three or four pick in this year’s draft. That’ll uh, you know, maybe help the Texans out in the future. We’re rooting for the Titans in this one up against the 49ers. But 49ers heavy favorites in this one, as you see, 12 and a half points. And by the way, if you’ve been, you know, kind of searching like what who scored that g that first touchdown up against the Texans? Cedric Benson, UT legend Hookham. U he scored that first touchdown for the Bengals and then the Texans ended up beating the Bengals in their first ever playoff game. You might remember because JJ Watt had that pick six up against Andy Dalton. It was it was it was magical in Houston. But thank you to everybody who played and thank you for making it to the end of today’s video. Make sure you hit that subscribe button and make sure you join me this Sunday for Texans up against the Arizona Cardinals. [Music]

Houston Texans rumors heading into NFL Week 15 are centered around the current AFC playoff race and how the Texans can possibly win the AFC South. With the Daniel Jones injury news and the Colts signing Philip Rivers could Indy still capture one of the AFC wildcard spots? We look at the Jaguars game this week and hope the Jets can take them down, but in reality we need to focus on the Chiefs vs. Chargers week 15 matchup because a loss would truly end Kansas City’s hopes at making the playoffs in the 2025 NFL season. 2. Mr. Chuggs, I remember exactly where I was at watching that first Texans playoff victory. I was at the USO VERY Early in the morning right outside Baghdad, Iraq with my 249 SAW and 9mm side Arm. A football game I'll never forget, under the circumstances. Feelings were happy that the Texans won, and happy that the terrorists decided not to come outside and play that day for whatever reason. (come outside and play is what we use to say, when things got crazy). As a Texans football fan, that was one of the greatest days of my life while I walked back to my tent looking over both shoulders. Very special to me, I just wanted to share that memory with you and the rest of the Texans nation. H-TOWN 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

  3. #Texans, I want to get revenge on broncos. That was a close game we could've won. Broncos have a strong d and Shaun Peyton but their schedule was somewhat weak and I just know we'll take em this time

  4. Remember this.. if we were to play the Chiefs in the playoffs, they would play in Houston which could completely change how the game is played. Picture our defense with our fans yelling in playoffs. I’d take us to win 10/10
